Quick Breakfast Ideas

We pack breakfast snacks in our carryon - granola/Clif bars, cashews, almonds, crackers. We usually have a jar of Nutella and/or peanut butter in our checked bag.

If you have a small grocery order, you can add cheese, pepperoni, bananas, and strawberries.

On my last couple of trips, I used a car service that makes a stop for groceries. And to save time, I did a Target pick-up and submitted my cart the night before and it was ready when we arrived so it only took us like 10 extra minutes (the Hunter's Creek location usually allows cold items - like cream) so you can get Granola bars. fruit, pop tarts, donuts, etc.. SO nice to have water, snacks, and cream for my coffee in the room!

I haven't stayed at the Swan, but FUEL at the Dolphin has some GREAT options. And they open early. Just know that if you go down closer to 8 AM, it will be a longer line.

If I am going to HS, I always put in a Woody's breakfast order when I get up for a 9:30/10 AM pick up - their kids meal is enough for me and it's under $7 for tots with eggs, gravy, and OJ. In MK, I had both Friar's Nook one day - again around 9:30 after I'd done some rope drop stuff. And then the Launching Pad another day when I was with friends (Cheshire Cattail and Mickey Pretzel)

Also? I pack a few empty Ziplock bags - and sometimes get a pastry (croissant, lunchbox tart, etc.) someplace in the parks before I go back to the hotel, drop it in the zip lock bag, and it's waiting for me in the morning.

I haven't found a spot I love at AK for breakfast - I've tried Yak & Yeti local cafe as well as the generic sausage biscuits and I think it's best to eat in the room and wait until lunch ;-)

We are staying at Dolphin for an upcoming trip. I've never been there but I have read that Fuel is the go to place for quick breakfast items. I plan on bringing granola, protein bars, and maybe cereal in my checked luggage. I'm hoping I'll be able to find some yogurt, fruit and non-dairy milk at any of the stores on property.
We'll most likely do a mix of packed stuff, Fuel and Boardwalk Bakery for our breakfasts.

Fuel also has outstanding hot/cold subs, and a possibly re-opened self serve froyo station that might have something reaaallllyyy close to Dole Whip. Do not sleep on Fuel...or Picabu, or Kimonos, or The Fountain, or Il Mulino...or Fresh Med (if they are open.) I'm a big fan of the quality at Swolphin. I wouldn't hesitate to have some hot subs from Fuel and then go to The Fountain for sundaes for a pretty awesome, chill, dinner.

For your shopping list, I'd suggest you stop at a grocery store on your way (if possible.) Not sure how you are arriving, but all car services are fully aware that folks might want to stop for groceries somewhere. All of the ones I have taken ask as soon as you get into the car. But, if not, the Speedway gas station is within walking distance. If you have a rolling suitcase, take a quick stroll over with it, and you will save a few dollars on room foodstuffs.

To the OP, my family is somewhat similarly situated. We only ate one hot breakfast TS meal for a 7 day trip earlier this month. My DW ordered some non-perishable and perishable breakfast items through Instacart and kept them in the hotel room. We had breakfast bars, pastries and some basic fruit items (i.e. oranges, bananas). If Swan has a fridge, you can order some Dixie or Chinet bowls and order cereal and milk for the room too?

Thanks for the suggestions! We are using Tiffany Towncar and they did ask if we would like a stop on the way. I said no because we are arriving later in the day and I just want to get there LOL, but I can always add it to my reservation.

Probably not the most budget friendly option, but the doughnuts at Joffreys are big enough for two to share! We do that sometimes after rope drop on an early park open day so we don’t have to get up extra early to eat.

in the small refrigerators, is there room for a carton of eggs?
You could get one in, but it would take up a lot of the space. I don't know the size of the mini refrigerators at Swan/Dolphin, but I wouldn't do this at a non-DVC resort room except maybe the family suites at AoA. I have bought a bag of hardboiled eggs from the store and put those in. If you had a way to cook eggs, you could also fit a "carton" of egg product in the room frig.

I will be at the Swan in August for the first time. Are there toasters in the rooms? Are they available if you ask?

That's not a bad idea if you want one. Pretty sure you can get one for under ten bux and just bring it. They won't be standard in any rooms, no idea if that's a common request for them to provide. Seems like a fire risk, but toasters are pretty much free at stores these days, just bring one.

I won't say I know what's best for anyone else's fam, but if I were you, I'd 128% plan a stop. You'll save a bunch of cash and time. Ask them which stores they recommend on the route, and look at the online sales flyers for the week you'll be there, make a list of what you need, and what's on sale, and see if you an another person in your party can go in, get two carts, divide and conquer. The money is easily worth it. PLastic cutlery, paper bowls and plates, napkins, cereal, peanuts, granola bars, loaf of bread and fresh lunchmeat, pbj. So far, everything I've listed is about the price of one quickservice meal. Handy to have if you're doing afternoon pool breaks or to get everyone energized in the room in the am while others are showering. Or late night snacks when you're dead tired from walking / swimming / clenching every muscle fiber in your body on TOT 5x. We just keep everything in one of the dresser drawers.

I've done pick up at two different Targets nearby

This one - Hunter's Creek https://www.target.com/sl/hunters-creek/1790 - is just off the highway and because I did the order the night before and just said "I'm here" they brought the items out to the car. It added about 10 or 15 minutes tops. They allowed me to add WINE to the order (I just had to show my ID when I picked up) as well as Cream for my coffee and some sliced cheese. I also added a small coffee pot so that I could make coffee in my room and not have to rely upon the Keurig. If you want a toaster, I'm sure they have inexpensive ones - just leave it behind when you leave.

The Target on Vineland is very close as well https://www.target.com/sl/orlando-vineland/3354. I've used this Target for pick up when I have had my own car. However, they DO NOT have cold storage at this location as it's super small.

We always have yogurt, fruit, cereal, milk, muffins in the room. Can always buy in the shop bagels, english muffins/bread. If you like butter, cream cheese/jelly alone or to supplement cereal, bars, etc.

There is a quick service in the Swan/Dolphin. Can't think of the name (probably mentioned here already also with the other great ideas).

We like a granola bar or similar on the way to the park (or bus stop), then a couple rides, then some quick service snacks. Ideas-
EP- Les Halles bakery, various items
AK- nice big Mickey cinnamon roll at the snack place near the safari entrance
MK- Sleepy Hollow Nutella/fruit waffles, Gaston cinnamon roll

We usually pack some fruit and nuts for the parks as well.

Just curious what people's favorite ideas for a quick breakfast are on park days? My fam of 4 (DW + teens) doesn't want a sit-down breakfast, just something quick and hopefully inexpensive. We are staying at the Swan and don't have a car this time around.
Swan has awesome quick service with good coffee- Java. If you are going to Epcot on a day, swing in to beach club market place for quick food to scarf down. Or if you’re at Epcot the night before, get some Norway or French bakery for the next morning.

We find protein to be important to keep us going. You could get some cheese sticks, or the pre-peeled hard boiled eggs to keep in your refrigerator. Tht with som fruit would be a quick easy breakfast. With no car, you can put in an order with Garden Grocers (or several other stores) and arrange to have your groceries waiting upon your arrival.

We always take a "food suitcase" since we fly southwest. Gives us extra room on the way back as it empties. We also do a grocery run for cases of water, gatorades, milk, yogurt, etc or have it delivered to the resort. Worth it for the water alone.

Breakfasts, we always eat in the room as we are getting ready. If we have a full size kitchen (DVC) it is usually cereals or donuts or things that i don't normally buy at home. If we don't have a kitchen, we really like those Oatmeal cups. I run hot water through the coffee pot. We pair that with a squeeze applesauce or something like that. It still feels like a vacation since it is things we don't eat normally.
