Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I just switched my portofino stay to club. I know I won't spend the extra in cost but the convenience of coffee won me over. My husband is usually the voice of reason and he said do it. So who am I to arguešŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø it will be our first trip there and after 5 nights at Disney.

People have been posting WL pics all day. Now I wish I had WL instead of YC. I booked wl last week and canceled the next day. Seriously, my week has no availability except GF. Even saratoga and OKW has had no availability. I don't get it.
Portofino was worth it IMO. Itā€™s so busy at universal the crowds are so much more vs wdw. It was nice to have a bit of quiet.

The CM member told me that a CM will serve you food behind the plexiglass but there will be prepackaged food also. So the CM wonā€™t be serving you prepackaged food If this is true.
we donā€™t go until Aug.2022, so Iā€™m hoping it changes back to pre Covid days especially at the price I paid for the MK view.
Thatā€™s how they did at Portofino Bay @ Universal. Plexiglass and served.

I visited @Dispro1 in the main building last week. There were TONS of seating scattered over 3 floors. They have room.
However CR lounge is much smaller. I would take the food back to my room if lounge seating full. I hope itā€™s not a all or nothing deal.

Like everyone else, wait n see. šŸ™„

YEAH!!!!!

Just modified our previous reservation at Poly for GF Club Level. I have been to a Club Level in over 34 years when it was just called Concierge Service back then.

So, now I have some follow-up questions:

What happens next?

When does someone from Disney Signature Services and Vacation Planning reach out?

I am managing two reservations so can I get Signature Services to reach out to me on both reservations? Or will they only contact me about my reservation and also contact my mom about her reservation?

Not sure if this is what yā€™all are talking about, but prices donā€™t usually change dynamically. Disney has on occasion made across the board rack rate increases (they did it half way through 2019 if I recall correctly), but thatā€™s less common. Those situations aside, once the rack rates are published, they donā€™t generally change.
I didn't think so, but I was wondering since CL was unavailable to book for so long, and people were mentioning the higher prices, if the CL rooms booked earlier were actually less than what they would be charging now.

(I just found a 3 night stay for CR CL Atrium std in early Dec for the same nights (Th Fri Sat) I'm staying in Oct and it's $450 more.) So if I keep on looking eventually my Disney math will tell me I'm getting a hot deal. Now I have to make myself forget the price again because it is so outrageous. If everyone didn't have their vacations already picked I'd change my dates and resort.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to that and express passes. I'm not sure how much we will use it, my kids have some dining they want to do. My son wants the Harry Potter restaurants but they don't eat that type of food. They said they don't care lol. looks to be lots of lounges/bars for the adults ;)

Now only if I could get excited for the YC. I hated BC CL. I didn't care for the crazy packed pool either. I have to talk myself into it. I tried convincing the kids to do GF. I was voted down 3 to 1.

Great to know thank you!
Does anyone know can you hold 2 reservations and just cancel 1 when you get closer and make final decision where to stay? Not sure if this is frowned upon or even allowed? I came close today to being more fiscally responsible and switching to GDTā€¦. Havenā€™t made the final decision yet
Yes, you can hold multiple reservations and cancel the ones you donā€™t want. I have done that multiple times, often when I see a room pop up but I canā€™t discuss it with my DH at the time because heā€™s at work. Iā€™ll just book it, and them cancel one of them once we decide.

I did that and called to see if I could apply the AP discount to the new one and the CM said I couldn't keep both. As soon as he applied the discount he canceled my other one. I've done it plenty of times (without the need to call for something) and never had a problem. I don't know if it's policy or this particular CM.

Fiscal responsibility? We donā€™t talk of such things here, this is the CL thread. The prudent Disney planners hang out on the Budget Board.

Just kidding. :goodvibes

Yes, you can hold multiple reservations. Youā€™ll see people say ā€œyou shouldnā€™t do it because youā€™re blocking someone elseā€ - and yes, itā€™s not really the best etiquette to hold placeholders for a long time. But I personally see no issue with it if you need to hold certain dates and/or room types for a little bit while you figure things out.

I have always done it all myself online, both making and cancelling the reservations. Iā€™ve never had to call. I can see how if you called they might make you choose one right then, but I also donā€™t know if itā€™s policy or if some CMs might not care and others make you choose one to keep. I just know, for me, the system has never noticed I had 2 reservations for the same people at the same time and either warned me about it or cancelled one.

I think youā€™ll definitely appreciate the CL switch for Portofino. Even though their happy hours are totally lame, youā€™ll really like that specific CL- I found their staff and food to really be excellent, and the food had a nice variety.

Itā€™s just a guess, since I havenā€™t checked at all yetā€¦I got back last night from FL to a pretty bad situation at home and have not had the chance. Thatā€™s usually how it works though, isnā€™t it?
I just wanted to say that I hope everything is okay.

I absolutely think it was the CM. I had to call because my AP wasn't active yet. It ended up being fine because after a month of flip flopping I was finally thrilled with my choice. I also booked under 60 days. Anything I've done without calling has been fine.

Thanks! The happy hour did look lame. Only 2 hours a day of alcohol šŸ™„šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

I've never been a resort switcher, but for this upcoming Oct trip, I've gone from GF TPV --> Poly TPV --> GF RPC Standard šŸ¤£. I'm crossing my fingers that by Oct CL will be "normal"... If not, I may be regretting this decision.
That's a great switch. For my March trip it was GDT, CR garden wing, BWV, back to CR garden, Riviera may have been thrown in, then CR then CR theme park. I also had off property thrown in lol. For my August trip, I have switched between BW, WL and YC. Now I'm at YC because no availability elsewhere (except GF, but Noone likes it but me). I wanted poly but the only thing that ever became available was a 2000 suite.

Congrats on your RPC reservation! DSS phone calls were pretty spotty even before the pandemic, so I wouldn't count on getting a call from them. I plan to call them myself to see if I can reach anyone! I certainly hope they are fully staffed again because they were always really helpful to me for getting restaurant reservations! Of course, that was back in the days of booking restaurant reservations at 180 days out. The phone number is 407-939-7777 in case you don't have it. I'm not sure when your trip is, but I hope it's a great one!

Thank you for the phone number. The trip isn't until the end of January 2022 so I hope they get fully staffed by then and are completely up and running by then.

My kids are all that age range and we still do it so I will count my blessings.
I like my privacy now. As do my boys. I am blessed though that they still want to be with their olā€™ Ma and Pop lolol we all thoroughly enjoy the time we still share together. I ā„’ā„“š“‹ā„Æ those boys and we have a fabulous time even in separate sleeping quarters šŸ˜œ Glad we all still have kiddos that enjoy being with us! ā™„ļø

Yeah outrageously priced for what you get it seems. They are asking well over double the cost of our theme park view room to upgrade to atrium CL. Not gonna happen, ha ha. I will keep an eye out for discounts but it's surprising... I mean the difference in cost is more than the deluxe dining plan would have been--- doesn't make sense.
Iā€™ve never stayed at CR do you like it? And theme park view one of the best views to get?

Dd and I were shocked how busy everything was at universal. They only had a few mobile ordering options. Just to get a $5 water took 20 mins. I wanted a wine with lunch, it took 30 standing on the sun 95 degrees out.

That was when we missed wdw cl.

Dd carried 1 or 2 bottles of cl water with her which saved both $ and time.

We stayed at yc twice this year to do our HS/Epcot parks. I prefer mono resorts but we did enjoy walking everywhere. A&C had stand by seating and we had a meal there each trip. Prices were decent and a bigger menu than mono resorts. I also found the marketplace not to be busy and they had a decent selection of snacks.

We got to be at those 2 parks at closing and ride lines were pretty low to get some rides in. It was nice not having to run for a bus šŸ‘

Oh I have never been a SAB fan but they got floats with backs so I could sit up and keep my hair dry. LIFECHANGINGšŸ¤£

I prefer YC over BC as it is quieter overall. I also like the lounge as it was usually not too crowded; you could always get a seat.

Didn't mean to imply otherwise, I was counting my blessings that my kids don't mind sharing our room. We did a lot of camping when they were kids so a hotel of any kind is nice. Also we have different schedules. DH and I up at 6am and looking for coffee while they are then getting ready and later we're back earlier at night. Works for us and I enjoy the savings! We also like privacy but for an extra 6k I'm willing to share a room :wizard:
