Tusker House Reopening June 20 | Characters Included

I'm sure they will have an allergy menu but I wouldn't expect anything in addition to what is stated on the website for the regular breakfast, which is the basket of pastries, breakfast platter and fresh fruit.
The breakfast platter would be perfect with just that little substitution. I'll hang in and check on opening day but everything else should be perfectly sufficient for my party.

Glad I read this thread yesterday about it going live before 6am - I was able to get a late breakfast on our AK day. I'm excited for the family style! It looks like at this point it's having a ripple effect of opening up some availability for the other restaurants - at least during our week - if anybody needs to shuffle or is looking for availability at different AK restaurant.

I think you're right with the ripple effect - maybe even for other parks if people choose to shift around park days. I have been struggling to find any table service reservations at all for 2 Hollywood Studios days in a couple weeks and just this morning managed to grab both a Hollywood and Vine breakfast and Hollywood Brown Derby late lunch! I was stressing a little bit about those 2 days, so I'm feeling a bit better now :-)

That's so funny - I started messing around with my other days too just because it's been so weird to have NO availability and I wasn't happy with one of our HS days and I just found a Hollywood Brown Derby late lunch too! I booked what I could at 60 days since I had seen here that ADRs were tough, but I have kept checking to see if there were any other options but until today, nope. I'm excited for Brown Derby - we've never tried it before.

ETA: And by checking around, I mean every day/park just to see what's out there...

Same here... I can be a little obsessive about checking sometimes LOL I have my whole list of what I'd like to have and then check almost every day. But, in the pre-pandemic times, we were always able to get exactly what we wanted by doing what we could at 180 days and then checking and adjusting as the trip gets closer. So I agree that NOTHING seemed to open up the past few weeks and I was amazed to be able to grab 2 others today. We haven't done Hollywood Brown Derby either - the menu looks good. We actually had a Topolino's dinner reservation, but we let it go once we found out there was a dress code (I had no idea!). So, it'll be nice to have a reservation for a nicer meal to replace that one.

Disney dress code is basically don't show up in tank tops and flip flops, except of course for V&A. A casual dress and a polo shirt would have passed muster.

Good to know for next time. I live in flip flops, but I probably could've made do for one day.... and my daughters and I live in sundresses at the parks, so that would've been easy. But, I hadn't realized it was upscale when I booked it. I just knew it was new and people had been raving about it. Hopefully it made someone else's day to snatch it up when I let it go :-)

Rats! Missed it. Lunch is full on the day we go. And I don't spend that kind of money on breakfast.

Totally forgot this morning but got one for my only AK day at 230. Not sure if I'm going to keep it, it's an awkward time. AK has probably the best QS places in the parks that I'm not sure I can justify the price. I will wait for the reviews to see, and also see how I'm feeling since thats also my last day of trip.

Just snagged a 2pm lunch on our July 3rd day. I'm justifying the $42 for my three year old to eat 3 bites of macaroni for these characters lol. They better be good.

Looked at the limited menu again and couldn't justify it for the characters. $84 for my two kids to eat some macaroni and cheese lol. Just booked Tiffins instead and it's gonna be CHEAPER lol.

If anyone wants the July 3rd 2pm lunch, I just dropped it.

That sounds like my 15 year old. Oh, wait. He won't eat Disney mac n cheese :sad2:

I am in the same boat...my kid is not a picky eater (and either is her friend coming with us) and for us, this menu is too plain. Mac n cheese, no way.

At $55 per person Donald and Mickey would have to make my drinks and cook our food table side...no way that's worth $220 + gratuity ($40ish). After tax and a cocktail, that's a $300 lunch.

This is my last chance at visiting with a child under 3, just by a hair. If we had to pay for her as well I don't know that we'd go to TH. She might eat the chicken and the mac and cheese. Of course right now this is the closest she's going to get to all these characters.

No adults in my travel party are highly motivated to eat anywhere this trip, so this is our one big dining splurge. I think we've all come to the consensus that we'd rather snack through the parks this go around.

Yeah, I can't find Tiffins for my date yet, but it would be cheaper for me as well. With just two adults, I don't really need to pay for the characters. I will still wait for reviews, but if they don't blow my socks off I will probably cancel and go for Tiffins if it becomes available or "settle" fo Satuli (which we both like).

Can a member of your party go for dinner but not eat without spending $55? Our DD is a picky eater and wouldn’t touch the dinner offerings.

No, sorry. Everyone pays no matter how much or little they eat. Would your daughter eat the kid-friendly food?

I guess I’m only seeing the regular menu. Are there other “kid-friendly” options for dinner?

I'm hoping my daughter will eat the chicken and the mac and cheese, maybe some of the veggie sides. Those are the most kid friendly options that I could see.

Not at buffets or family-style places. At regular restaurants, you can though. Is there something she would eat at breakfast? You could do a late one, like 10am, and have it be an early lunch. Our son didn't like the lunch/dinner menu at Tusker House when it was a buffet, but he was fine eating eggs, bacon, and waffles at breakfast. In fact, he doesn't like any of the lunch/dinner offerings at the character buffets, so we usually do a late breakfast.
