DCL Disney Magic At Sea UK Residents Only Sailing Summer 2021 General Information

I wonder how the booking lines will be on the mornings for Platinum/Gold/Silver. I cant imagine there being *that* many in these categories from the UK ? I see platinum and gold are the same day, perhaps suggesting there arent that many in each of these categories.

How does it normally work? Do you get an engaged tone if busy, or placed on hold? If they are using Florida based agents then will they have staffed their call centre for such early hours?

Last time I did it over the phone I was just placed on hold - it did take a couple of hours of Disney music to get through but it was for all summer itineraries.

I have a feeling that booking when it opens will be insane for everyone.
Although they are booking platinum and gold on the same day they have one designated phone line for each individual cc level.
These cruises being short and without the hassle of flights are stirring up a lot of emotion. New cruisers see this as a taste of something new and achievable and there are a lot of experienced cruisers trying to get on too as our lockdown/tiers/ circuit breaks call it what you will have been very long and restrictive.
Our non essential retail only opened up this past Monday and the week before last was the first time that you could actually get into your car and drive more than very locally or meet friends outside.
These cruises are a glimpse of some normality which people are desperate for. A lot of new cruisers are also bewildered that DCL doesn’t release its pricing until the day that you are actually making your booking so when the cc members find out it will be somewhat easier if those are published to help others with a rough ball park figure.
Right now everyone is just making wild guesses including experienced guests. Its creating a kind of frenzied must get on at all costs emotion.

What category is the staterooms on the magic where u can sit in the porthole over looking the ocean
There are staterooms with with 2 small portholes, or one larger porthole. .. neither could you sit in...
Those are 3 or 4 sit-in portholes in the public areas on deck 3... In the "night time" district "After Hours"

I've never been on a short cruise, of just 2 nights, so wonder quite how relaxing they could possibly be. I think first time cruisers will be so overwhelmed trying to find their bearings on the ship, try out all the different restaurants, scrambling to find their way between the character meet and greets, trivia competitions, deck parties and such...

I have now updated the first post with the sailing dates in chronological order which should make it easier for people planning a cruise and for those who want to follow the ships location during the summer

Only the Dream/Fantasy have the porthole seat rooms...not sure what category...8?. The Magic/Wonder has a shelf that's not really meant to be sat on. The largest portholes on the Magic are in categories 9A (upper decks forward) and 9B (deck 2 midship). Category 9C (deck 2 aft and forward) has slightly smaller portholes, not enough to make a difference. Category 9D (deck 1) has the 2 small portholes.

I have done 3 and 4 night cruises with Disney before, but never a 2. I assume they still use the 3 main dining rooms so what really puts me off is a 33% chance of missing out on animators palette. I have only experienced this once on the magic, but it's much better here than the dream or fantasy. As a gold cc member do you think it is possible to request when booking that the dining rotation includes this? Otherwise I'll have to ensure a 3 or 4 nighter.

In the past, I’ve never had a problem changing rotation. Request at booking and once you see your stateroom key you’ll know. If an issue follow up at the designated point to fix.

I think you should book a 3 night... Or maybe a 4 night and perhaps a back to back... Just to be sure ☺️

I think 3 nights is too short. I still will do it, if the price and dates are our best option. For a newbie, I’d suggest the 3 night, though. If you are not enjoying yourself, it’s not too long. If you need more, you book a future cruise.

I was seasick my first cruise. Mainly due to the route out of Cape Canaveral. The Florida Straight is known for its choppiness.

I found that a scopolamine patch (may need a prescription in UK; we do in US) to be the most effective without the drowsiness of many of the pills. It leaves me feeling dried out but nausea free.

Now I see why y‘all have been going stir crazy. We have had “Safer at Home” policies at some point, but we have never had real restrictions. Any store that I usually frequent (granted, that’s ASDA-style retail, large grocers similar to Waitrose or Tesco - not the Metro size, and home improvement or “Big Box” stores) have remained open throughout. Nobody in my region has been stopped from traveling anywhere in their car. Maybe that’s why we are continuing to spread the virus. There have been people rumbling about masks from Day 1.

Hope to hear that the situation improves and opens up for y’all. Good luck.

Thank you so much. Honestly there have been people being stopped and fined for being more than 5 miles out of their home locations just trying to go for a walk! My grandchildren have not been able to have properly fitted shoes since October and as their little feet have grown so much their shoes no longer fitted.
It’s been grim so the offer of this tiny bit of normality is a bit like a lifeline.

Hopefully after those cruises it will be the October 14th sailing out of New York that we are booked on. :goodvibes
We are booked on that cruise too. Hoping for a little magic to happen and allow cruises out of the U.S. by then (pun intended) :tink:

In case someone did not already say so in here (they may have but I am too lazy to check all 30 pages of the forum), I called and got confirmation that the UK resident rule means that a copy of your mortgage or tenancy agreement is sufficient to get you on! Very important for ex-Pats who live here and do not have a passport :D
