Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Information & Questions + Construction Updates

Lol just for your girlfriend I watched it. It’s from Boca Chica. He points out another one in the video which is Conch. I can check touringplans if your need room number but honestly BPK, BC and SL have similar view because they all face courtyard pool. Conch will have a bit of lagoon in its view and sago faces the marina (Also towards SL) FYI.
Lol of course you found it! Guess I need to search for it differently! At least I know it's in Boca Chica now. If we're going to have to ask at check in anyway, the CM should know which ones are lagoon view I would hope. Besides, I'm still hoping they'll give me my favorite deluxe in RPC (it's technically lagoon view too lol) although from what I'm hearing on here (and from you), that's probably not going to happen. Thanks for looking for the video! Maybe I'll get lucky with some kind of upgrade, or maybe I should consider myself lucky to have a LV booked!

I feel the same way about not having the lounge space! So, it looks like @trishadono has you covered but since I went down this little rabbit hole yesterday, here's what I found regarding room numbers from touringplans...I think (hope) I'm reading the map right based on the videos I saw, which included I think the Boca Chica one and the one from Conch (room 7406)... I forgot to include @trishadono's other post, but it sounds like the top floor of each building wouldn't have a balcony, if that's important to you. We're big balcony people. I agree about the views, Conch seemed liked the nicest view with a little lagoon sliver, but I've never stayed at the GF, so it's all new to me!

Sago (building 5) - 13, Sugarloaf (building 6) - 20, Conch (building 7) - 06, Boca Chica (building 8) - 14, and Big Pine Key (Building 9) - 14
Thanks I didn’t want to have to do all that work lol.

I do love those touring plan maps!

Thanks for the info! You and @trishadono have given me something fun to look for today! And yes, a balcony is important to me too with the exception of the deluxe king turret room in the main building at GF. I don't miss the balcony too much in that room because the entire room is a turret so the whole thing has windows with a view! That one should be a bookable category too but sadly is not, and I rarely book deluxe king room because I don't want to get stuck on the 2nd floor of the main building. So if you haven't stayed at GF, where do you like to stay? I also love Poly and BWI. I'm not sure how I'll feel about GF now that the orchestra is gone. The last time we stayed there it was still there.

We booked that room category and requested that room for this trip, back when we first postponed it a year and you could still book CL. I keep hoping they will take pity on me since I'm now solo on the trip and I will get birthday pixie dust... :sad1:

I circled all the deluxe rooms /outerbuilding. They are all Garden View. Even the Sago because it faces marina not the lagoon/ gf categorizes it that way, 557EB0B5-F390-4619-948D-8E9788CF0CD7.jpeg

I hope you get lucky...of course, I would be very jealous since we're there at the same time lol! We used to get the turret room every time we requested it for our anniversary trip because we stayed there a lot and I guess the word wasn't really out yet about how great it is, but we didn't get it the past couple of times we tried so we gave up. We have been staying in the deluxe room with two queens for years now (when we can get it) because it's a bookable category. We were supposed to be in RPC in February this year for our anniversary but obviously that didn't happen, although we ended up cancelling anyway because we weren't vaccinated yet. I hope we both get lucky with an upgrade or at least some pixie dust of some kind. My husband said he's going in with zero expectations at this point.

So we had an RPC reservation for June. TA called and we were told we "may" still be allowed to stay in our Main building room (pending no refurb) and they would charge us for an Outer building room (garden view). Of course, no club level snacks, food, etc.

Well-----holy smokes-- we last stayed at RPC 2 summers ago-- the price they gave us for the Outer building was $1,000 MORE than our last RPC stay (same amount of nights).

$1,000 more than your existing reservation, or more than a past stay?

I do love those touring plan maps!

I love those touring plan maps too! Not just to see the views (although judging by my research, it seems like maybe higher floors are better here view-wise) but they help me get oriented to the layout, especially if I haven't stayed at the resort before! Thanks for your maps, too - those are great! Can't wait to use that walkway to MK!

I wish the main building would open up for our trip but I doubt it - that turret room sounds amazing! One of the reasons we like a good balcony is because we're really early risers and we like to have our first cup of coffee out there while the kids are snoozing.

The GF is the only deluxe we haven't stayed in yet - very excited! Sad about the orchestra. I've heard them before I believe just visiting the lobby, but I wasn't really thinking about it when we booked, mostly the walkway to MK which is huge. We've loved everywhere we've stayed - hard to choose. I'm a sucker for a tropical theme so Poly is probably my sentimental favorite, but love being able to walk to a park, so love the Epcot resorts and CR. Then of course the WL and AKL are just so stunning, and with the AKL being able to see giraffes waking up in the morning, it's pretty magical! So obviously I'm all over the place which is why I've done a lot of split stays but my husband said NO!

Hi all! So we have a GV room scheduled for the 23rd to the 29th. Just want to clarify that the deluxe garden view rooms that have the extra room do have a balcony unless it’s the fifth floor? Do I have that correct?
Also, quick question about the cabanas. I have one booked for a whole day. It’s a surprise for my sister in law who’s traveling with us. Can I check her in at 9:45 before I take my two kiddos to Epcot? Also, I know there is a fruit plate and snacks, but can I schedule something else for her as a surprise? Her mother has an aggressive form of breast cancer and she’s been the main caregiver. I really want to surprise her with something nice. It doesn’t have to be at the cabana. Idid look at disney floral and nothing spoke to me. Can I still order the chocolate slippers? Thanks so much!

How can you see where you’re going to be? I have a mid May reservation

touringplans.com has maps of all the resorts and you can filter based on room category. It is not 100% accurate all the time, but you can get a sense of which buildings house which room types. I believe the maps are free to use but to use the room request feature you definitely need a TP sub.

We tend to use our balcony in the evening, but with no lounge in which to have coffee, we will definitely be using it for coffee in the mornings on this trip! My DD17 is not an early riser but unfortunately I am these days! One of the reasons the turret room was never a problem for us was that we only stayed there without kids because it was always our anniversary trip . You have been a lot more adventurous in your hotel stays than we have been! We used to only stay at GF, but prices have gone up so much in the past several years that we started trying a few other resorts. I do love walkability to the parks which is one of the reasons we love BWI, and I'm very excited about the walkway to MK from GF! It used to be a nightmare getting back to the GF after a party at MK! I hope parties, fireworks and CL are all back very soon!! Not sure when your trip is, but I hope you have a great one!

Can someone please tell me what time the first bus leaves for HS on a day the park opens at 9am? I was originally planning to drive because we have a rental, but I heard that they do not allow cars to go through the tolls until well after the buses have dropped off. Can anyone confirm this as well?

I found my answer... Be there 90 minutes before park opening for the first bus.
