I recently read Shogun and then put a hold on the miniseries at the library. I was all ready to watch disc 3 when I got home from my errands, stuck it in the dvd player and it ate it. I had to take the top off to get it out and now owe the library like 80 for a new set. I've already ordered a new dvd player from Amazon as the drawer on this one would sonetimes get stuck but the dvds have always been fine. So uh yay more credit card points :sad2:

Has anyone flown with their dog? I was looking at the SW website and saw it was only $95 each way for Puggles to fly with us. That doesn’t seem unreasonable. And I am thinking our AmEx plat credits might cover the fee. So I was thinking maybe we should try taking him with us when we don’t have someone to watch him.

I have. Pugs don’t fly we’ll because of breathing issues so talk to your vet.

We used to fly with our bichon. It was okay but once we had toddlers, it was too much to have a dog and two little ones flying. I am considering taking my Hav with us to Naples next week. She has never flown.

And I was on the plane with the work dogs for a conference in 2019 and they barked almost the whole way. It was awful.

Should I get the Bonvoy Brilliant?

Here’s the deal. I see it’s on Doc’s best cc subs. $450 AF, which is ...yikes! And I already have the CSR AND just got the plat in December. But, the $300 Marriott credit - I’m taking two of my kids to WDW mid April and we’re staying at the Swan four nights using the AAVacations travel voucher from last year. So that’s paid for, but the parking and resort fees will get me to the mid $200’s right there. Also we have a reservation at Il Mulino while there. I have to pay this money anyway, so I’m thinking why not pay an annual fee of $450 instead and enjoy that great SUB? We really love staying at the Gaylord Opryland when we visit DS20 in college in Nashville so it’s easy using the credits and points. I’m 4/24 but have 1 card falling off end of April so no big deal with possible future Chase cards. My only other Bonvoy card ever is the Amex biz card. Do I already have too many Amex cards? I forget the rule. I have the plat, gold, (both charge cards I know) BCP, HHBiz, and Bonvoy Biz.

You might be surprised to see that he won't even touch it lol. When my LO had his 1st birthday back in November, he did not want any part of the cake and cried when we all sang haha. Some of my coworkers said their kids did the same thing too. We got his smash cake from BJs Wholesale Club and it was a mini 5" double layer cake for like $6. Bargain! Good luck on making/finding the perfect cake for your baby.
Lol we’ll see what he does. He loves his food but is picky about textures so I actually bet he’ll dip his pointer finger in and that’s it. He likes food to be separated out into chunks so a big cake might overwhelm him. Most likely we’ll have to break it into pieces to show him what it is

Love their bakery! I prefer their cakes over any others. As an FYI for future cakes...don't feel limited by the cakes they have in their book, they will decorate almost anything on a cake. Oldest DD had a Candyland themed party one year and they did an awesome job decorating it. Of course, that may be dependent on the cake decorators at each store. And birthday cakes will earn bonus points for the grocery category - just to keep it on topic!
I was hoping to show them a picture or something and see if they can replicate it. I tried to picky an easy design. We’re doing trains for his birthday! A candyland birthday would be awesome!

Maybe decorate the top with some blackberries? He seems to quite enjoy those and it might get him to grab at it more.

That’s actually what we did for his 100th food cake! We put blackberries in the shape of a 100. He loves pretty much all berries. We will probably do something similar maybe in the shape of a 1. I’m planning to do a light blue frosting so maybe I’ll do strawberries since their color should show up pretty well

We decided to buy our son a ticket for our August trip instead of doing the whole lap child thing since he is getting so squirmy. Didn't think I would already be spending those URs that I just earned! Just wanted to check that transferring them to SW is pretty straight forward and quick. Also, would anyone know if I could try to add his ticket to our current confirmation number if I call SW to purchase the ticket?

I probably saw that and forgot, was just thinking of the pics from the past couple of weeks. That kid is a way better eater of a variety of things than I ever have been and ever will be, which is fantastic. However I'm perfectly content with what I eat and what I've tried and not liked or not tried because I know I won't like it (texture, smell, etc.).

I'd call regardless, I don't think you can buy a kid that young a ticket on it's own. But given it's a child, I'd think they'd be able to link it if it can't be on the same pnr.

As it's getting close to the end of the month and I need to use my AmEx Paypal credits, I upgraded my old monthly CBS All Access to a 12 mo. limited commercial Paramount Plus plan (get 50% off the price by using code YEAR exp 3/31/21) and was able to switch payments over to Paypal. So I get a yearlong subscription for free! Not that I was paying much with CBS All Access since there were always promo codes, but I wasn't having any luck with the recent ones.

ETA: I think I messed up. Make sure to change your payment method over to Paypal BEFORE you sign up for the year subscription. Argh.

The transfer is simple and quick. They will be there in a minute or two.

I believe there is some type of pop up that requires you to put in a confirmation of an adult to complete the booking. I’d try it and if not call.

Ok, just tried it and you should be able to book online. I used 4/27/19 as the DOB.356A7AF5-D439-46A7-9CA5-7514770AEE11.png1D8E2840-9505-4AD7-B86E-C31F94131A82.png

I think its a great time to apply. It sounds like you will be able to use the benefits, and I personally think it’s a great offer. The current AMEX restriction is 4 credit cards. It appears your at 3 so this would fill your remaining slot. It’s up to you if that’s a good use of the 4th credit card. But overall, yes I think it’s a good value, and wish I could take advantage of it as well.
