Mine was actually not the dramatic one. I needed her to go with me. I'm needle phobic and was afraid I would get weak and faint after seeing so many jabs on TV. She's the healthy one with the huge immune response - good thing.

So, meanwhile my son in law tested positive. DD and girls were out of town using my Hilton Head reservation (I didn't go) and got back this past weekend. He was sick (didn't travel) from Thursday on through the weekend, so first night she stayed here. She's had the vaccine due to education job. Anyway, yesterday, she took herself and the girls for tests as youngest was throwing up overnight Monday. Still waiting for those tests. Vaccine or not, staying clear since no way I want to be even a bit sick. I'm sending SIL daily messages to stay home and quarantine - he says he's doing it.
Sorry to hear that. I don't blame you for staying away. And glad at least someone got to use your reservation.
After much debate going back and forth about renting our points - we finally decided to use them ourselves before they expire. So we are going down right after Labor Day.

Today I got an offer to do a timeshare presentation:

If your vacations have been on pause, it’s time to press play again. You’re invited to reserve a stay in Bonita Springs and fast forward to amazing new memories.

Enjoy a vacation in one of the most scenic areas on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Experience a one-of-a-kind 3-night stay at Hyatt Residence Club Bonita Springs, Coconut Plantation, all for only $299. Plus, explore new possibilities with 10,000 Bonus Points.

Begin your next adventure. You have until April 2, 2021, to purchase and 12 months to visit.*

Time to get my Disney Visa out of the sock drawer. 5% back on all purchases up to $1500 April 1-June 30. Perfect timing for anyone planning a DW trip. I was going to use some URs and MRs to get gift cards for food, etc...But will just put everything on this card after April 1. I have thought about cancelling this card so many times since I never use it. But with a trip coming up it makes sense to forgo earning URs and MRs for the time being. It will help me conserve the URs and MRs I have now too.

(It will be nice not having to think about which card to use every time I make a purchase.)

You have to sign up for the bonus - here is the info:

Tried again today, still only getting the expiring offer for gas purchases.

Did you try using the individual cobrand links instead of the catch all link? The catch all link gave me the grocery promo expiring 3/31, but I when I tried the Disney link (listed farther down on the DoC page) I was able to activate the promo. Unfortunately, the IHG links didn't work for me.

Yeah I tried both and the catch all link gave me the promo that expires this month and the individual link told me my card wasn't eligible.

Got the 5x anything up to $1500 on my Hyatt card. Have a Hyatt stay coming up, which already gets 4x. Do I then get 9x? Looked at the fine print and it says this:

"Total Bonus Points shown are the maximum you will earn on those purchases during the promotion, regardless of what you already earn on those purchases in your rewards program."

So thinking I should NOT use my Hyatt card for my upcoming stay. I'm guessing it'll go towards the $1500 limit, but only get 1x more. Luckily, DH's card got the grocery one, so we can just use his.

I was going to check this out and kind of forgot until you mentioned it with the link conveniently spinning, lol!

I got Hyatt April 1 to June 30 anywhere at 5%
Same for Disney card. Both cards are going to work a bit at Costco! Mostly Hyatt.

Marriott Boundless: 5% jan 1 through Mar 31, grocery gas, drugstores.

And, IHG, 5% Jan1 to March 31 at Grocery, gas and drugstores. I've still got to finish my tap to pay 3 times!!! So will do at 5% and get a few extra, I hope I remember this one!

I got that too. Is it a good offer? I'll have to talk to DH and see if he would be interested in taking a long weekend down there sometime.

IHG also has variable pricing so you might have hit good days! (I didn't look at your hotels to know if that's their regular points rate, but I've seen lowered points on a few options over the winter.) I spend way too much time on all these hotel sites!

I had no idea. My IHG use the past few years has been a once a year booking to use annual free nights. Variable pricing makes much more sense. I could understand slight points variations since the last time I've looked, but in December 2019 the Intercontinental Barclays was a 70k property so that would be nuts.

Interestingly, the Muse and Barclay are both 40k despite the Barclay costing about $100 more for the night, so I wonder what algorithm IHG uses to determine variable points pricing. For now, I'm not complaining.

If you don't mind a timeshare presentation, and if you actually stay at that hotel (I got farmed out years ago) it's probably decent as I checked a couple of dates and a room was $300ish.

But, last time I signed up, (at a Sheraton) I didn't get to use the offer I paid for, not their fault - mine. And they kept extending it but it never worked for me, so, no I won't personally do it.

If only Marriott would learn how to do this. Their points bookings are somewhat ridiculous now. They do have off peak but it's not enough on properties that drop from $400 a night to $85 a night.

Store credit won't affect you.
Are you talking water filters? If you have Samsung and if they have your filter type, I just bought one from the Samsung website for $15 less than Home Depot in February. This is where they send you one every 6 months which works for me.
Yes. Water filters for the samsung. I will check it out. A store credit will work for me at home depot. I just don't want amex clawing back the credit.

IHG also gave a freebie in December where they extended a free night to Dec 2021, and left the other one expiring Dec 2020 intact. The hotel @calypso727 stayed in(the Willard) for Cherry Blossoms or Hamilton? had openings most of the nights including NYE, and I was itching to do a staycation with our girls as it was at 40K for those nights.

Kept dreaming instead of doing....

I need to order some EZ seed with my HD offers. I have some bald spots in my yard that need patching. I really wanted another Google Nest Hub, but I'm trying to be practical.

I ordered a water filter from Home Depot and when it arrived the packaging was crushed. I didn't feel good about it so returned it and ordered from Samsung on the subscribe and save program. The last three smaller items I've ordered at Home Depot have arrived looking like returns or something that someone played street hockey with.

A little wwyd

We will be traveling the week after Thanksgiving. Dh and I both have to work that weekend so we can’t leave until Monday.
However I get out at 8am and Dh gets out at noon on Sunday. JetBlue has a 4pm flight which gets us to Orlando Sunday night at 7.

Should I stick with my original plans of flying out Monday morning 6/7 am or Sunday evening? I have no JetBlue points so I’ll have to use my URs that I would prefer to save for Hawaii. Or we can fly free using our Southwest points Monday.

We will head to Epcot that Monday no matter what. All I want to do is ride the Ratatouille ride and get DD4 on Frozen. Don’t care about anything else in Epcot.

Keep in mind that Sunday is the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Thinking traffic to airport and airport might be much worse than Monday?

Ok I called an audible and apped for the Disney card which will put me at 5 cards. It's at 30 days right now, which given the last biz app/denial doesn't surprise me. I imagine they'll want me to move credit around, why they can't just do that on their own like amex does...

Anyway at what point do I go to a person, when it hits 7 to 10 days? Not used to having to deal with it.
