News Round Up 2021

It's times like these that this board suffers from the absence of @rteetz the most. Inside the Magic should not be accepted as news or find its way into these forums. This article is a perfect example of that. The Safaris sign has been covered since July 2020 and ITM is just performing clickbait, as always
Clickbait pays the bills.

but in all seriousness. What constitutes as news then (in your opinion?)

do boots on the ground blogs not count, or is there an official status these reporters/influencers reach that make them acceptable of the ‘news’ label? (not sarcastic. That’s a genuine question).

I haven’t found a single blog (including Disney parks) that isn’t “guilty” of clickbait. The difference is that most visitors aren’t there to personally check it out, so it doesn’t feel clickbaity. And now, with people connected more than ever, it’s fun to learn new tidbits.

(Although that twitter use, bioredirect?, is great at news without being click baity. But also risking life and limb for those images! Lord knows he/she needs the credit for the great work they are doing!)

No, I think that boots on the ground is a great thing! That's actually the type of thing that a site like ITM lacks. They don't walk the parks, they don't know the parks. They simply scroll through twitter and Instagram to put together their next clickbait article. ITM of today is very different than the ITM of the past since it was sold off.

Going back to this "story" as an example, if ITM was a proper news site (in my opinion, of course) first they would have never run the story because it's simply not true that this is a new development, but they would also do some amount of fact checking to verify what they're typing is true. Instead, they simply grabbed a photo and wrote a "story". There is no effort, there is no working knowledge, there is no care for the reader - only care for the clicks.

Again, just my 2 cents. If this is the type of thing this forum will turn into without a proper mod, I'll gladly drift back into the shadows and watch quietly

This news made my day, literally starting sobbing. WDW is my fave, but DLR is home. After moving to California 5yrs ago, I went to DLR nearly every week. When they closed last year it really crushed me.

I know it’s going to be tough get tickets, I don’t know when our APs will come or what that will look like. But I’m just happy to live in a world where OG Disney park is open again.

And I promise, I will never complain about crowds & wait times again! This past year really make me appreciate how lucky I am that I get to go to the parks so often, I definitely took it for granted.

I am merely a Diser volunteering my time, as it is something I enjoy doing. Obviously, you have had an issue with what I post. If you would like to post the daily news, I will be happy to step aside. As a side note, If you have issues with how the News boards are being handled, why not complain to the people in charge? I’m sure they’re willing to listen to suggestions.

I can attest to this as a local Pass holder and someone making a career in ads and marketing.
It’s incredible how they (any site with ads) will grab a story without thoroughly vetting or proper research.

in the end, with SEO and fan loyalty, these vapid stories can hurt their reputation.

but for many people not entrenched in the topic, this IS new news. for example, even though I’ve been a gazillion times since opening, I never noticed this (and think I would have since its TAPED on the all ratchet like).

my two sense is that many of these sites have employed ghost writers and news chaser. It’s like Disney blog burnout and this is the result.

hopefully this turns around as the parks become a more enjoyable place for all to visit

Uh oh - potentially nervous but I'm sure it will be cool!

Same! But I’m still excited, it’s my fave ride by far. I‘d be surprised if they changed it too much, maybe just updated some things or improved/enhance some of the special effects? Time will tell :)

Hey, last time they added Hatbox and he's great! Still, sometimes I get nervous about them messing around with stuff.
