i haven't heard her talk about laser therapy. I'll have to ask her. I know her retina specialist has said that they are making huge strides in treatments/cures. What she has is genetic and her sister who is 10 years older than her didn't have many options available when she started having problems and is limited now in what she can do that requires good eyesight. So sad.

Yes, I googled and it is genetic and is pretty widespread as well, as is my problem - up to 30% of cataract patients have clouding of the capsule. I'm going to ask my ophthalmologist more about macular degeneration on Monday as I know it's been mentioned during my appointments. He's also an instructor and loves to teach - evident in how he treats me when I see him. I'm curious if it is something that I get to possibly look forward to as I get up in age.

I never dreamed I'd be having laser treatment after my cataract surgery. But now I know what all the follow up appointments were for as he told me that there was some possible evidence of future clouding after I had my surgery. My surgeries were in 2017, and late 2019 was when I had last seen the doctor for a follow up. At that time I was still seeing fine.

Then 2020 happened and my appointment was canceled - office was closed for several months - and when it opened and I called, I had to wait until this month to get seen. A lot happened in a year. I got under 5/24 and got another Chase card!! <G>

This isn't going to be your best answer but I don't keep track of them that meticulously. I mostly use my VGC's on things like our utilities, ect. that I'm not going to have a refund on. For the times I use them for things that I might get a refund for, I write on the card with a sharpie - what it was, the amount and the balance and then I leave it with all my other cards. Every month or two I do a purge and get rid of them. I'm sure someone else might have a better system, I just don't usually use them on things that I might return. My VGC's are primarily for medical co-pays, haircuts and utilities.

I track them in YNAB, but I don't have a ton of them...
I suppose you could do a separate YNAB account for each GC then close it out after it's all spent up.
And I suppose you could name the YNAB account by the last 4 of the card so if you ever did have a return, you'd know where it went and what card to dig out to use it up again.

can you transfer rewards on Amex BCE to MR? Like I do with CF to UR? I've been poking around and can't find that I can.

Doesn't look like it. All I see is 'eligible statement credits' and 'at times we may offer you other options such as gift cards'.

I don't have a BCE so I'm not an expert by no means, just tried reading the cardmember agreement, which I guess you probably also did.

I budgeted $150/day for 3 adults and 2 kids. Came pretty close. I counted the food tour we did separately. We stayed in apartments and did breakfast in. Didn't eat anywhere particularly fancy, but had lots of tapas and seafood.
Thanks for the reply! This is exactly what I was looking for... how much did you spend on tours and taxis/city transportation? Tour planning is next on my list.

Citi has tightened up in the pandemic. Speculation on r/churning is 0/6 or 1/6 inquiries or new accounts (rather unclear from what I've seen).

For the airline credit, you can check Flyertalk for what works.

Thanks. I might be done for the first 6 month of 2021 while I'm making my MSR on the platinum and working the gas/groceries points. So, maybe I'll try the premier again in June-ish and see if things are any better.

I went to Flyertalk and checked it out. Here's hoping I did it in time to post for the 2020 travel fee credit! Then I can turn around and do it again in 2021 and really take the sting out of that AF.

I'm making good progress on my $30k Biz Plat MSRs. I had asked a friend if I could pay her property taxes with my card since she would just write a check since there is a fee. I went over to do that last night and she says, "If you're looking to do more, you can pay my tuition bill." Perfect, so $9605 towards MSR. With the $4k for my taxes I shouldn't have any problem hitting MSR. I paid 2.39% for the property taxes and 3% for the tuition so all total I've spent $355 in fees. Normally I would never pay that much in fees, but with the 0 AF it was worth it. I figure if I sell the Xbox I can hopefully get for $400 I'll cover the fees and then the rest of the credits and 200K MR are all profit. :D

And extra bonus, my friend was looking for a new card, so she's deciding between a Venture or no AF Hilton, so I'll either get $200 or 30K MR. :D

I couldn't believe that the right size wait list came through today already for Saks. I got that ordered. Might have to return that water bottle. I'm hoping that the shoes don't ship until the new year and I can be done with that credit.

Using a sharpie is a good idea. I guess I should start registering them. Being able to look up the purchases may ease my stress, lol.

I second the Sharpie. Just be careful you don't write too far down and cover important numbers!

I made a return at Walmart and they put it back on the gc. It took DAYS to show up for use again. An in-store gc would have been much better for me in that instance.

I rarely register my card and am still able to see the transactions online. I should probably register them but I guess I am lazy. Lol!

You can also do it again early 2022 before you cancel the card. Triple dip season. You picked the perfect time to get the card. :D

Dh applied and was instantly approved for the BOA cash rewards card. He got an offer in the mail for spend $1,000 and get $250. We’ve been staying away from chase and Amex lately but we’ve gotten mail offers from BOA and citi. I’m not sure what our next move will be. I might try applying for the same BOA card or attempt Amex again

ETA: This post is so so wrong 😆 I must have major mom brain. Dh did not get a BOA card at all. He got a US bank Altitude Go card 😂😂 Does anyone else have this card?

I am actually planning on doing the same, and I called today to check what the cost is. I was told they weren't offering theme park tickets for purchase right now because of Covid (after being hung up on twice but that's a different topic). I also checked online and don't see them there either. Are you able to see the tickets on the Citi portal?
No but I never could. Only way to get them is ask for Cruise and tours department. Regular reps don't have access. I bought DLR tix in January this year, pre-COVID. Spent 30 minutes looking online and 20 minutes with a rep looking before being transferred to Cruise rep who had them pulled up in seconds. If you didn't get the info from a Cruise rep I'd HUCA. I can see no DLR as they are closed but WDW is open.

We only did the tapas tour and a "free" walking tour (just tip). The tapas tour was $425 for the 5 of us. Everything else was maybe $300. 6 days in Barcelona - metro, a few taxi trips, Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, Montserrat, Chocolate Museum. We spent a few days in Girona too, but had a rental car. Didn't really spend anything on activities there, maybe only the Cathedral entrance fee.

Some of my most memorable experiences were free. :) Like watching a castell competition (human pyramid) or wandering around Besalu. ❤

Wow, so many pages in the last day! But DISboards aren't giving me notifications over the last several weeks either so I'm not sure what is going on there.

Question about the Visa gift card purchased online through office supply stores (that I sadly didn't realize didn't get 5x URs on the CIC... lesson learned)...

I am pretty sure I went online a couple months ago and set up a PIN for it. I now have NO IDEA what PIN I set up (I know.... I know... passwords and such are my downfall).

Where have you been able to use it that you did NOT need the PIN? Could I do Amazon? It says "Visa Debit" on it.

Yes amazon. But you should be able to just hit cancel on the card reader so it runs as credit like you would with a reg debit. They've always worked as credit at Costco.

Thanks, that one took me to the current 5x Amazon and 3x grocery that expires 12/31. I already registered for that awhile ago, but I just looked at my statement and looks like I didn't spend it yet for Dec. Thanks for the reminder!
Interesting. It took me to a generic link and when I put in the last 4 of my Hyatt card it registered me for the Hyatt promo. 🤷🏼‍♀️
ETA now it takes me to the current one, with expiration 12/20 though I swear earlier it was the new one.
