Disney taking presale orders for Disney themed face masks

Got mine at Disney Springs this afternoon. I got my daughter a medium because she still wears kids size 14 and her other adult mask is too big. However the Disney masks run small so I waited again in line for a large. They're cute but they really smell and they have a big tag that is almost the size of the mask inside.
Hopefully washing them will help with the smell. I'm thinking I'll need to cut off the tag once I get mine.

I received my large Mickey&Minnie Disney face masks this past Monday. I didn't notice any smell to them although some others have reported an odor. As with other masks I washed them and hung them up to air dry before wearing them.

The tags inside the masks are roughly 3-4 inches long and 1 inch wide. I carefully cut them off and haven't noticed any irritation from the tiny bit of remaining tag when wearing the masks. The tags contain standard information such as where they were made, material, and care instructions. For anyone else who wants to save the tag information, here's a picture.

FYI, the fabric care symbols mean:
Machine wash cold (I used warm wash/cold rinse with no problems)
No bleach
Tumble dry low (I air dried)
No ironing
No dry clean

The mask material is soft and comfortable and the size fits my (full) face just fine. However, the ear loops are not as stretchy as most other masks I have and they feel tighter on my ears. I wore one of the masks for an hour tonight while grocery shopping and didn't have any ear pain during or after. However, my face felt warmer and sweatier than other masks.

I'll continue to use the Disney masks around home since I'm not outside that much and it's not as hot as Florida, but my plan for my next Disney World trip (December, subject to change) will be to use disposable paper masks in the parks.

ShopDisney added another size to their masks - extra large. It's available for each of the six designs, and it's the same cost for a set of four masks ($19.99). The available date of the extra large sizes is currently showing 8/26, so you can expect to receive them in early to mid September.

If you buy today and pay with a Disney Visa card, you can use code DVCC25 and get 25% off, a savings of $5.

Here's the updated sizing guide:

Good deal.

I just question their quality control with sizing and complaints from those that bought several in the same size were actually not the same size when laid on top of each other.

I guess Disney went for cheapest manufacturer or quality.

Sadly, I agree.

We purchased these masks in both Medium and Large sizes, based on other our experiences with other masks. Our adult daughter is especially petite, and as a result, typically Large size masks are so big they are floppy for her.

The Large size Disney masks don't fit her - all of them, save one, are too small.

They are so poorly sewn that after *1* laundering (in mesh lingerie bag) some of the stitching has already popped and those are sitting on my sewing table, awaiting repairs.

They are so poorly made that even in an air-conditioned home or office they are uncomfortably sweaty and difficult to breathe through. My masks that I make from cotton quilting material and lined with old t-shirts are far more comfortable and breathable.

They can keep their XL masks and their "discount". I will rework the Large sizes as best I can (going to experiment with a new lining fabric and creating soft elastic adjustable ear loops) to see if we can salvage some of them. The Medium size will most likely be thrown away - I can't justify donating something so poorly made.

Probably the single most disappointing Disney product we have ever purchased.

Non returnable.
Wonder if it can be cancelled before shipping?

Have you contacted ShopDisney customer service to let them know exactly what you described here? Disney needs to know what is going on with these masks (the poor quality control/lack of control is ridiculous!) and how big the problem is.

yes they can be. I emailed to cancel some mediums that we ordered for my daughter who has a small head. I knew they would be too small from reports. Now that being said they said they cancelled the order but it is still listed so I kept the email reply I got in case I need it for a refund if they end up shipping them.

I bought 8 large masks today at Disney Springs. They were 4 for $20 and no passholder discounts.

They are double layer, but no opening to put a filter or anything. The masks at the Vera Bradley store were $8, had doublie lining where you could add a filter.

My only complaint is the elastic. It’s thick and uncomfortable. My husband said his feels tight on his ears. My 16 year old with ASD said it fits perfectly, feels good, and he loves baby yoda!

No we haven't contacted them yet. My (adult) daughter actually ordered them, and she is right in the middle of transferring from her retail job at Apple to her "big girl" job at Apple Park in Cupertino, so it's not been a huge priority for her. I need to get the order number from her, and call them...

When you do call them, you should be given the option of a refund/credit or replacements in a larger size. This is what has been posted on other boards.

I received my first order of masks yesterday. Called Shop Disney this morning to ask about replacements in a larger size. After a short wait time (about 10 minutes -- I was expecting much longer), a very nice CM issued an e-coupon which I can use to reorder the masks in an XL. The second order has not yet shipped, so the CM cancelled it. The unused masks will be donated. (By the way, the quality looks okay -- none of the masks look obviously odd, crooked, poorly sewn, etc. They are just too small.)

I got mine a couple of days ago and they are WAY TOO SMALL for me. I'm 5' 8" and weigh 190 so I'm not a big guy. But the masks don't cover enough of my face and the ear pieces are tight enough to give me a headache within a couple of minutes of putting it on. I planned on sharing these with my Daughter and Aunt so they're getting them.

I hate to admit it but I also hate the designs on the masks. I thought they would stand out more but to actually see the design you'd have to be a couple of feet from me. Which of course would violate the whole 6 foot distancing rule. I thought of trying the extra large ones but I'll stick with the larger plain black masks that fit fine.

I have to agree with you, and most of the comments that I've read. My order came in and the "large" are not very large. They appeared even smaller after I washed them. I also cut off the large tag. I was disappointed too.

I was just reading the posts about these. The positives seem to be that people like the designs, it is comfortable, and breathable. Seems that the biggest negative is that is doesn't have a nose wire to shape around the nose. One person even posted a short video. I might order one. https://www.disboards.com/threads/disunplugged-face-masks.3803844/
