LOL, like others here, I’m old. No VCR or DVDs when I was a kid. Watched the movies that were repeated annually, most on major holidays: Wizard Of Oz, Miracle On 34th St, It’s A Wonderful Life, etc. If you missed it, you had to wait until next year to see it again. Also, one of the local NYC stations played Abbott and Costello movies every Sunday.
A bit OT, but we would go to my grandparents’ house for The Wizard Of Oz because they had a color TV, and my family still only had black and white until I was about 10 or so. Thought it was the coolest thing when the movie switches from B&W to color when Dorothy’s house lands in Munchkinland. (“We’re not in Kansas anymore!”)
