Waiting for DISNEYLAND HOTEL DVC Thread (see post 1 for updates)

I believe if you set aside Christmas and Easter the most expensive studio week is 199 for Lake view at VGF. So I’m betting not 250 or 300.

Easily 30% more for poolside rooms.

Poolside is not offered anywhere else in DVC to my knowledge.

Has anyone seen square footage for any of the rooms? I'm guessing the Pods are similar to Riviera tower studios but curious about the studios especially. Love that they have double sinks.

When you say approve, do you mean the project as a whole? As in, Disney would have permission to build it?
As best as I can tell, and I am far from an expert in Anaheim Real Estate Development Law, there’s still a chance for the city to pull the plug if the public suddenly pitches a fit, or Disney gets back in the doghouse with the city, but approval here signals that the city is on board, and we shouldn’t anticipate any further issues.

I want to own at Disneyland so bad! I am hoping the price is not TOO outrageous, and I'm also hoping that the blue card threshold is still "only" 100 points!

If anyone was curious, like me, where we would park. I found the answer in the document.

Vehicular guest access to the Project would share the existing Disneyland Hotel infrastructure. Therefore, all access would be from Magic Way via the Disneyland Hotel entry road. Valet pickup and drop-off would be along the north side of the Disneyland Hotel’s Fantasy Tower (as shown in Figure 1). The Disneyland Hotel access and circulation infrastructure is sufficient to accommodate the increase in traffic associated with the Project.

The Project requires a total of 307 parking spaces based on the City’s Municipal Code. However, the Disneyland Hotel currently provides excess parking inventory above its requirement to accommodate demand during major events at the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center, and the Project’s parking requirement is met by this excess inventory. Therefore, all Project parking, including valet and self-parking, can be accommodated in lots north of the Fantasy Tower as well as in the Disneyland Hotel parking structure above the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center. During big events at the Disneyland Hotel Convention Center, convention center visitors would be accommodated at the Pixar Pals parking structure north of Magic Way.

Why oh why does DVC struggle so much with the room allocations? I think this is awful with only 19 1BR, 20 2BR's and 2 GV's. I definitely think they need to do a larger studio allocation at resorts but this is only slightly less worse than PVB. We do all the Villa sizes at VGC but mostly studios and 2BR's. Also what caught my eye is that there isn't the extra bed upstairs in the GV's that gives more bed options. And as others have pointed out it's looking difficult for families of 5 (or more). Less "pods" more 2BR's.

Exciting to have another DVC at DL but I guess they want you to stay in studios.

This looks amazing. I am sure the price per point will be up there. If we had the spare cash, I would buy in at the current 100 minimum.

I was not expecting the 1605 page pdf that @CastAStone linked in the OP to be such a fascinating read on a Friday night, but here we are.

The sheer amount of legal documentation and things that need to be done to make this happen is really interesting. There's a list of various documents that were completed and it's things like "TRASH TRUCK TURNING EXHIBIT" and "PLANTING IMAGE BOARD (SHRUBS + GROUNDCOVERS)."

I suspect the lack of balconies is because they would basically look into a residential neigjborhood area. Which is weird and creepy!

Perhaps. I was really surprised at how little you can see a 12-story building, based on the images in the document. They have a computer rendering of the building and how it would look from multiple angles. It's surprisingly well hidden by foliage, especially from the residential side!

according to the drawings, only the one bedroom, two bedroom and grand villas will have tubs; the triangle looking thing is a shower pan so no tub / shower combos 🙁; all of the villas do have a seat in at least one shower if that makes it better 🤷‍♂️

things certainly may change between now and opening day!

They look to be larger than a standard-sized walk-in shower. They look to be sized like the ones in the Polynesian Studios since they have the seat in them. It's kind of hard to tell though.

The concept art from the pdf makes it look amazing, especially the pool area (p. 81)!

I want to go RIGHT NOW!

I just measured the document. These won't be perfect but they should be close:

Pod: 275
Studio: 400
1BR: 805
2BR: 1205

Interesting. Only 2 Grand Villas? This is mostly studios. I guess that sub-studio category must be working. Guess that's how they sell the most points and get the most cash. This thing will be sold before it is even done.

Bummed about this. I would have added a contract there if there were more grand villas. I thought this new tower would have more given there are so few at VGC.

Thanks @CastAStone .
For those playing along at home, Riviera's Tower Studios are 255 so possible a hair larger.
Most people seem to think the Tower living space is dinky but the bathroom is surprisingly large.
Pod/Tower aside, 400 would be on the large side in DVC Studio standards:
511293

I noticed going back to 2 full bathrooms in the one bedroom.
That's one of the things that we really like about the VGC. If we have a one bedroom and guests with us, each group has their own bathroom. We were at the Beach Club Villas with my daughter and with all of the doors into the bathroom and shower area, you really had to make sure no one was in there before you burst in.

I just looked at the floor-by-floor layouts and noticed that all of the 1- and 2-bedroom units have balconies. Of course the Grand Villas have fantastic balconies too. None of the PODs or studios have balconies, other than the garden units which appear to have a patio.
