Disneyland Paris Will Reopen July 15 Village Nature Opens June 22

A week earlier than expected, Disneyland Paris is now in a green zone, which makes the reopening announcement getting closer and closer, although the rumours still say July 15th.
But with soft openings for AP holders... Part of me wants to check it out (soft opening means less people probably?) and part of me just wants to wait and see how it goes first

Yes, same here. I have a hotel reservation for late July. Maybe change it around.
What you saw with Efteling at opening in May and now is that in the beginning it was quiet, especially on the weekdays (except opening day). But now crowds starting to pick up again. So more tickets are being sold, still capped, but rides are at low capacity. This weekend the big coasters had waiting times from 45-90 minutes.
I've read that Efteling is now moving the non-sold spots for regular guests to the AP holders for last minute visits to get the park as full as is allowed.

I'm really curious what they will do with entertainment, if there will be some form of entertainment. I am not a big fan at waiving characters from a far.

I thought the Efteling was already "selling" out all their spots? Or was that only in the beginning?
My work wants to know everybody's holidays for this summer/year (not forcefully, they are flexible, but just so they can plan stuff) and I just don't know...

Hi,
I have been following along... so I decided to jump in here.. and ask a few questions..

Our original plans were to go to Japan this year, then Paris next year for my birthday... In all honesty Japan seems out of the question... so we might swap the trips around...I am an American, and wondering what are our chance of visiting, in mid to late November, for a holiday? We are thinking possibly, DLP (2 or 3) nights , then several nights (6 or 7) in Paris, and possibly a day trip somewhere... Paris is our favorite city in the world...

Do you feel that we might be able to without having the issue of quarantine upon arrival hanging over our heads?

What are the rules for moving about about right now... Must you wear a mask all the time? Here in the US, some cities are mandatory, were other its up to you... I live right out the back gate to WDW... and people are getting tired of all of this... I see less and less people wearing mask, daily...

As well is everything still closed, museums, points of interests,? and any signs of re-opening...

Any thoughts or suggestion would be much appreciated...

Merci...

At the moment stuff is slowly re-opening, but the most important thing for you to watch is the border. It's currently still firmly closed for Americans, actually it only opened up for some other Europeans today. There is a plan to reopen for some countries outside of the EU in July (mostly European countries not in the EU), but I haven't heard anything about a plan after that. The infection rate in the US will be really important. At the moment you aren't welcome yet and if there is indeed a second wave when it get's colder again, it's likely the borders will be closed again (even quicker this time) and you, either still or again, won't be welome in November.

Thanks for your input....

I went on line and found several articles about the opening.... and from what I am reading here is that by the end June most of the countries on that side of the pond, are opening their borders and welcoming holiday tourist travelers... and a possibility that by the end July and August that France will be opened for international holiday tourist travel... Including the US, Canada, as well as some countries in Asia... Is this not true?

Not sure if they specified where the holiday tourist travellers who were welcome were from, because as far as I know, it's only European travellers. (Most of) the EU is one zone, the Schengen area. If you're allowed in one part, you're allowed everywhere, so there is no "France is open", there is "EU is open". This wasn't the case the last few months, as most countries closed their borders, opening them up (for EU travellers) is considered opening them up for international travel (as the tourists are from an other country).
Maybe some people are hoping the EU will be open by the end of July for US, Canada and others and I'm a big pessimist, but I don't see that happening (Like I said, I haven't read any reports of plans past July 15th). But my other point still stands, you want to go in November, it's cold and flu season then. There have been warnings that it could flare up again in those conditions. France was really badly affected, so with any sign of a new flare up, they'll immediately close their borders, a lot quicker than they did the first time around.

Theme arks are reopening, museums, etc. depending on their zone within France. I believe the entire country is now in the 'green' zone, making it possible to go back to 'normal'. Masks differ per country, in the Netherlands we are very lenient, only in public transport and there where you can't keep 1.5m (5ft) distance. Other countries have it in all indoor places. I'm not 100% sure yet what is the policy in France, at least in all places like museums etc you will need a mask.

Yes, EU is reopening for EU citizens.
But to reopen to the rest of the world, it will depend on not just the EU figures, but also the other countries. The US is not doing very well at the moment, in Dutch media they are already reporting that the US is seeing a rise in infections. This decreases the chances of be on the list of approved countries when they reopen. November is 5 months away, which is a lifetime nowadays. It could get better, it could get worse. It's too early to say.

I'm very on the fence to travel internationally this year. I will travel within Europe, but not sure yet about the rest of the world. Mainly because of getting back will be harder if things go wrong.

The problem with saying cases are up in the US is that's it's a very large country. Most of the increases I've read about are the very large cities. In the Midwest small town where I live it wasn't bad at all and the largest cities in our state it never got too bad. Some states had so few cases and small population size they never even did a lock down. New York City and other large cities are quite different than a lot of the country and that is my fear, the whole country will be not allowed to travel into countries due to certain areas being bad.

Yes, I suspect you're right, I don't think there is a way for foreign immigration to check where you life in the US, so it'll be the US as a whole

I read, Greece has now the system that it doesn't matter where you live but which airport your travel starts. So for the Netherlands, if you start there, regardless of nationality, you get tested at Athens airport. You have to stay in quarantine while you wait (should be within a day), if you test positive 14 day quarantine.
What happened before Covid, for people living in the border area, the North of Belgium, the West of Germany, travel to Amsterdam Airport in the Netherlands to start their journey. If these people do this now, they will be subjected to the same.

So, if the EU opens up to Canada, but not the US with a similar policy, you would have to travel on your own to Canada first (not a transfer) and then start your journey to the EU.

Pixidust.be reports about an article in Le Parisien yesterday about the possible measures at Disneyland Paris which are on the table. Not confirmed yet by DLP and no reopening date. Other French parks will open next week. I say nothing very spectacular, except for the additional photo locations is a surprising one. I take it the 2.450 desinfectant points are for the entire resort, including Disney Village and the hotels.
  • Guests are required to wear face masks from 9 or 11 years old
  • Reduced capacity in the attractions
  • Visual inspection of security systems at attractions
  • Empty seats between the visitors and families
  • Limited or no shows
  • No contact with Disney characters
  • Disney characters are present but at a sufficient distance
  • Additional photo locations with decorative elements and Magic Shots where Disney characters are added digitally
  • 2450 points to disinfect hands
  • Temporarily closed toilets during the day for a thorough cleaning
  • Increased cleaning of door handles, elevator knobs, trash cans, stairs, queues, …
  • 2 new security points will be installed when you come from the car park and station. This will increases the security tents from 18 to 24.
  • In hotels, various activities will not be available such as swimming pools, children’s corners, fitness, billiards, …
These measures will be discussed with unions and management this week, after which we will probably know a reopening date soon if an agreement has been reached on all measures.

The Parisian had more/new info! The reopening date will be announced on the 22nd (so Monday). Not all these measures are repeated, but some interesting changes/new ones.
  • The face masks will be from 9 years old
  • Only one (Disney) hotel will be open! No mention yet which one
  • There will be 12.000 people allowed in both parks combined
  • Opening hours for the main park are 10.00 till 19.00 for Studio's 10.00 till 18.00
  • There won't be any fastpasses
  • There will be extra magic time for hotel guests, they didn't specify if AP holders would be allowed too

Disneyland Paris to Begin Phased Reopening Beginning July 15

by Natacha Rafalski, President, Disneyland Paris

At Disneyland Paris, we have been celebrating our Disney Parks family from around the world. From our colleagues at Shanghai Disney Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland who have reopened their gates, to Walt Disney World and Disneyland who announced their plans to reopen next month – we are inspired by their resilience and proud of what they’ve accomplished to once again welcome guests back to experience the magic of our resorts.

As President of Disneyland Paris, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside our team of dedicated cast members who have demonstrated tremendous commitment to preserving the magic for our guests and fans during our unprecedented closure. The last several months have tested us and our community – both personally and professionally – but together we have persevered with optimism and determination. We are grateful for the resilience of our cast members and local community, the enthusiasm of our guests and fans, and the positive momentum of the many reopenings in the tourism industry throughout Europe. We’ve been so touched by our guests around the world who’ve found creative ways to maintain their connection to Disneyland Paris from home.

Now, as our community begins to recover, I’m thrilled to share that our iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle will once again welcome guests to its towering spires and sprawling vistas when the resort begins its phased reopening on July 15. Since its temporary closure in March of this year, guests of all ages have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of our premiere European destination. Come July 15, Disneyland Paris will begin a phased reopening with visitors able to return to Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel, and Disney Village. We look forward to the return of our cast members and reopening our gates so that our guests may once again enjoy our resort.

As we approach this day, we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our cast members and guests. In line with French government and health authorities’ recommendations, the phased reopening of Disneyland Paris will present a deliberate approach with enhanced health and safety measures tailored to our specific environment. This will include limits on attendance and require advanced ticketing and reservations to accommodate controlled guest density that aligns with government guidance on physical distancing.

We’ve been looking forward to the day we are all able to return to Disneyland Paris, and upon reopening, guests will be able to experience the guest service we are known for, our iconic attractions and entertainment, heart-warming new character moments, and even a few surprises along the way. As we are taking a phased approach, some experiences will change and others will return at a later date, but the magic that our cast is world renowned for will remain. We know it will take all of us working together, both cast members and guests, in this shared responsibility to promote a healthy and safe environment. More information on the enhanced health and safety measures are available on www.disneylandparis.com.

Over the next few weeks, our teams will be taking steps to prepare Disneyland Paris for a successful reopening, from visible changes to accommodate physical distancing, to new training for all of our cast members. We know that reopening is just the beginning, and we will continually adjust our plans as appropriate in this evolving situation with input from safety and health authorities.

As we reflect on the last several months, the magic of being able to enjoy a Disney experience means so much more. I’m very much looking forward to the day when our guests and cast members can celebrate being together again. Until then, stay safe, keep dreaming, and see you soon at Disneyland Paris! After all, there is no magic without YOU!

So maybe a spontaneous weekend trip later this year might be feasible after all...(if there are good deals...)
it’s great news for sure!

No indication as of yet when the park reservation system will be going online i am guessing? - have a reservation in August and April and was planning to buy an Annual Pass this week.

No information yet, they said the AP holders would receive an e-mail soon. But nothing yet. The only thing we know is the beginning of July.

What do we know
- Ticket reservation required
- Package deals guests (hotel + ticket) gets guaranteed access.
- Cheyenne & NPB are open from the start, the other hotels open in phases.
- Extra cleaning
- Masks required
- Handgel everywhere around the resort.
- Limited capacity in the park, on rides, in shops and restaurants
- Contactless payments preferred.
- 1m distance
- Selfie opportunities with characters
- Lion King show will be performed later this summer, Jungle Book Jive will be performed after the Lion King show has started again. It will be a reworked version.
- Plastic screens in stores and at hotel reception
- One family per elevator at hotels.
- Buffet restaurants will be table service
- Limited capacity in pools and other activities

So basically nothing surprising.
