Official 2020 HHN Thread - 30 Years of Scares

My family and I are toying with the idea of going for HHN again. We had so much fun last year - although out legs/feet were KILLING us after a long weekend. I am such a Universal addict. I keep telling myself I could go visit another country for the same cost, but it's such a great family vacation - and traveling outside the US is so iffy right now. Who knows when it will get back to normal?

lol.....we do some walking that’s for sure!!!

We did 10 nights last year I think, and yes, feet were wailing at the end of the nights.......but we kept going.

It‘s worth it though.....and yes it is so much fun!!!

My kid is 14 and loves HHN!
Yeah - there are kids that are fine with it no doubt.

It's the ones that are not that are the issue - or too young to even say (Like 6 month olds).
Its also become a lot tamer over the years - for better or worse. Worse IMO.
Watching some videos of HHN 15 and it was VERY different to say the least

BTW for those interested - Lots of History of HHN videos on Youtube and they are pretty good.

That's not a kid. That's a teen. My son is 14, and we are planning on going. He first went when he 12 and was perfectly fine. However, he had been watching scary movies for a long time. He also held onto me the whole time. I asked him if he wanted to stop doing houses, and he said "No, I love this! I love being scared!" :confused3

Yep, 12 and 14 year olds are very different to the toddlers and babies in pushchairs we`ve seen over the past few years especially. We`ve seen screaming terrified kids of all ages, and not the fun screaming.

It`s horrible to see.

Kyle was 14 the first time we went and nothing phases that kid......no fear but does enjoy a good laugh. And he got plenty of laughs at his mother`s expense too.....that was the year I discovered I could actually run....and run fast!!!! 😉

I saw somewhere on social media today (sorry I don't have a screenshot) that USO invited staff to audition for HHN. I believe it strictly said USO staff only at this time. Anyway, that's another indicator of their plans to move forward this year.

The news all seems to be positive coming out of the plans going forward.

Good to hear.

It’s the unsupervised tweens that are ‘dumped off’ at the parks, sans parental supervision that are an issue. IMO became a very evident problem once ST was in town. They are there to have fun, but it often equated to large groups (a problem in any amusement park as to clogging things up) there to not necessarily focus on the houses but just run thru the parks Willy-nilly.

Get off our porches, you punks :)

Same here, most families should know their teens well enough to know if they can handle HHN.

If they do make a fatal (ish) error and the kiddo is scared out of their minds right out of the gate...please, just cut your losses & leave.

Do not force said child to soldier on, it’s not fun for them, nor the the other guests to witness. in that case, I do suggest visiting GS very early on to explain your case to see if there is anything they could do for you.

Latest HNN speculation map dropped today. Peruse at your leisure.

Personally, this new Icons house rumor has me hype. I'm guessing the Terra Queen has been moved into there or she might be the icon of the house. Who knows?

Glad to see no doomsayers here (yet)...

for those of you who don’t follow the mouse, sadly, MNSSHP has been officially cancelled for 2020.

HHN is a totally different animal, to paraphrase Mr Twain...the reports of it’s demise have been greatly exaggerated

Universal already has one-upped Disney by opening so much earlier than anyone expected. not that there is any, ahem, competition between the two big players in town :rolleyes1

Janet, I just heard that from mac!!!

I am shocked by that and so sorry for all that had plans to celebrate Halloween with Disney!

Love some Mr Twain quotes.....lol.....

Thanks to all for posting the updated speculations :).

Very Interesting to compare them side by side on post #13 here, page one.
