Resort Change by Disney

I am so anxious! I booked Pop several months ago - checking in 7/10 through 7/20. We have tickets with the reservation in MDE. So, our reservation starts in one phase of opening and ends in another. Shall be interesting!

No, I just called when I read on here about the June 21st date and saw on DFB Guide on Youtube they were allowing changes to reservations on or before June 21st.

My best guess (I am in no way 100% sure of this) is that you would have to pay the difference. I would have had to pay an increase if I went with a 1 bedroom villa.

YAY!! Hooray!! :cool1: I haven't read that yet, but it does make a lot of sense. Thanks!

We have stayed at BWI many, many times. It is actually our preferred hotel. I had read BC DVC was slightly better than BW DVC (who knows how accurate that is) so I initially thought I would stay there. And contrary to others, the Clown Pool doesn't bother us. I personally like the Keister Coaster better than slide at Stormalong Bay.

Love that they are having mask free areas. I think people will need that in the heat/humidity.

SWEET!!! :thumbsup2 I typically will spend the tiny extra (usually equates to $30 more per visit) to get a garden view. My dd loves mornings on the balcony while I am still getting ready and the parking lot view just doesn't have the same relaxing atmosphere.
SAB is not going to be open during the opening phase. You made a good choice going with BWV...the community hall, feature pool, sports courts are all expected to be open.

Well, not anyone. If you have AP attached to a room reservation in that period you are excluded from rebooking. And I still don't know why. Hopefully when/if Disney responds to my Guest Services email about it we might know why.

Did not realize that.

Just got this email about my June 24-27 free dining recovery package at ASMo. Looks like they’re not going to move people with closed resorts to open ones unless you choose to pay.

Returning to a World of Magic
Though some of our experiences have changed, the magic never fades. It never wavers. And it’s still waiting for you to come and experience it. That’s why we are excited about your upcoming stay at a Disney Resort hotel.

But to help you confirm if now is still the right time for your visit, please review the following operational updates and click the REVIEW AND CONFIRM button at the bottom of this eMail to confirm, modify or cancel your upcoming visit.

Here are a few of the changes:

HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES

While visiting Walt Disney World Resort, all Guests ages 2 and older—along with all Cast Members—will be required to wear face coverings. To learn more about this and other measures we have put in place, visit here.

THEME PARKS & EXPERIENCES

Our Theme Parks and Water Parks will still be closed during your travel dates. However, Disney Springs is currently in a phased re-opening with many retail and dining locations ready to welcome you. For more information on locations open at Disney Springs, please visit here.

RESORTS

Many Disney Resort benefits and amenities may be temporarily unavailable. Select Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will be open during your travel dates but other Disney Resort hotels will remain closed. Check here for the latest details.

If you have a reservation at a Disney Resort hotel that won’t be open during your travel dates, we can help modify your Disney Resort hotel reservation. And if you have a room and theme park ticket package, we can help modify that too. You can choose to modify your plans when you click the REVIEW AND CONFIRM button below.

DINING

Resort transportation around property will be available in limited capacity to allow for physical distancing. Also, if you are arriving via Orlando International Airport, you may still take advantage of Disney’s Magical Express Service. Details here.

We know a stay here during this time will be different. But the world needs magic now more than ever. And we can’t wait to have you here with us. Hope to see you real soon!

Actually, look like they will move people for free if they keep the dates...meaning go before parks open.

People paying are rebooking their trips to later dates, That is different.

Well I know this is for early July trips... but this looking positive as I thought

Honestly, I am not in the "know" about the dates of phases. We rebooked for Aug 6th, I am taking that it is still considered the opening phase? If anyone could pass along the dates of phase changes I'd love to read it. Thanks!

My family agreed back in May if I had to rebook we wanted to switch to BWI. (When late May came and they were canceling reservations made in the first week of June I had an inkling our was coming, but chose to wait it out not thinking they would halt reservation changes or bookings.) And at the time I booked YC, it was a lot cheaper with my military discount. It all comes down to the military discount for regular resort rooms for us. :)

wait so they are going to take my club room and upgrade me to a dvc club room is that what you mean?
I doubt it. The only DVC club level rooms are at AKL Jambo. Jambo is the only DVC resort that is not expected to open with the rest of them.

It kind of makes sense I guess if it fills up the DVC or FW. They have to pay staff anyway for DVC and they would at least get our money (my ressie was from July 1-5) even though we couldn't go to parks.

I know my girls are itching for a vacation but it would be so hard to be at Disney without the parks. We even have tickets. If we got moved to FW I don't think we'd do it even if the cabins are more expensive than Movies but if we got moved anywhere else we might do it just for something different and we do love the Poly.

ok but I can't remember the premium I paid for the club I assume they give me a credit or something no?

My guess is if you don’t change your dates and when you arrive your resort is closed they will put your name in a hat and pull out a random resort you’ll have no say in which one and if you make changes you’ll have to pay the difference. The computer probably knows how many rooms it has and as they need to open more resorts they will

so do I get a refund for that portion I'm assuming?
I would assume so as well but honestly, I don’t have any clients booked during this time (only myself and not til July 21) so I’ve not been in communication with Disney about any of this.

I don't think they would confirm if your resort is closed no? maybe that happens when you confirm the computer or rep would assign you to that new hotel and offer you some price of a difference (this is my assumption) maybe give it to you gratis or discounted too.
