New month ahead-another Monday and a fresh start.

I’m Sandy, living in south central PA and happily retired these past three years.
I lost 70lbs about 18 years ago and have maintained my weight loss-with the occasional gain, but I usually get myself together before it gets out of hand. This group is a big help with keeping on track.

My goal for this month is to maintain my weight-I want to get back to not eating bread or potatoes with dinner-just a lean protein and vegetables. I started drinking water with meals last month and would like to continue that.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

Hi All,

I would like to rejoin you please! I am going to also offer myself to the hosts this week - if you need someone to help out day or two I will be happy to do so.

My goal is to lose 4 kg
Count calories
No snacking after dinner

Looking forward chatting to you all again!

Hello all,

I am in for the month - thank you to all you lovely ladies for volunteering to host this month! I have a feeling my month is going to be hectic :)

I'm Sam joining in from Queensland Australia. Working full time (from home at the moment). Mother to 3 teenagers! Dealing with being newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetic. I am feeling fairly positive today. I joined a 12 week program here in Australia and if I lose weight in that time - I can get the fee refunded - so that is some great motivation right there... well in addition to losing weight and getting healthier lol. I have to call a diabetes educator tomorrow to learn and get set up for doing my own blood glucose monitoring. I am seeing an exercise physiologist on Wednesday.

I have been really good since getting my diagnosis last Thursday I have had barely had any chocolate and when I have, it has not been a chocolate bar or chocolates - e.g. a few choc chips with my strawberries, half a chocolate sundae - because my boys forgot last Friday and bought me one when they were at maccas - but at least I didn't eat all of it! As you all know me so well you will know how HUGE it is that I have resisted serious chocolate eating.

Oh and @Oneanne love that 'looking ahead' picture :) great motivation.

Hi, I’m Cristin a married mother of twin teens from southeastern PA. I’m a kindergarten teacher and will be finishing up the year online this month. It’s been a stressful last few months and I’ve struggle with my eating habits. So I’d like to get back on track with my eating as well as lose 5-10 pounds. I’ve also set a new walking goal in another thread. Instead of “walking to Disney”, I’m going to try to “Walk to OBX” since that is where we are going this August. So I’ll be trying to walk, run and bike 400 miles in about 10 weeks. If I stick to my morning mile run and about 5 mile bike ride on week days, it shouldn’t be a problem. So there’s some extra fun motivation!

Hi, I'm Becky from southern Illinois (we're near the St Louis area) and I've got a lot to lose. I know I can do it though! I'm 49 years old and work full time as the controller at an agricultural company, so we're considered essential and I've been working through all of this. We're in somewhat of a transition time at our house with kids getting older / graduating / looking for jobs / heading to college, etc. One of these days everyone will have a plan and be able to follow through with it!

I need to think about a goal this month, but I might just stick with shooting for 2 pounds a week. Wednesday are my official weigh in days. I know I won't lose 2 pounds a week every week, but that's what I aim for. Two other things I'm going to add are that I want to take my measurement sometime (hopefully this week) and also look into some online exercise videos. I don't have a great setup at home to be able to do it, but I bought a device to hopefully turn one of our tv's in a more private location into a smart tv so I will hopefully be able to view some videos. I've been told that Bodyfit by Amy has some good routines for beginners, so I need to check those out this week too.

Hello all.

I'm Lizanne, a single lady living in Seattle. I started Noom back in March and have taken off 15 pounds since then... " just" 50 more pounds to go. At -1 per week that puts me around my goal weight for my next WDW trip in Spring of 2021. Really looking forward to that because I wasn't feeling really great during my last two trips due to the extra weight and figuring out food allergies. Love dreaming out all the cute outfits I'll be able to wear.

I made my goals for May - woop woop - so I'm going to carry them over to June: lose -5 pounds and walk 100 miles.

I'm Summer. I live in Connecticut, an hour outside of NYC. I'm asthmatic and about 60 pounds overweight. I teach Pre-K 4 in an inner city public Pre-K-8th grade school. I am home teaching through distance learning and have adapted to it quite well considering that I teach young children. I have a daughter who is 22 and is currently quarantined at home from her job at Lord & Taylor. She is a Stand-up Comic and has her first virtual comedy show this week. She will be doing open mic nights online for the foreseeable future. I'm married to an essential worker which has been a real challenge, because he just isn't as cautious as I would be if I were working outside the home.

I have maintained my 20 pound weight loss from the winter. I'm on Noom and working to lose weight rather than maintain now that I am in a routine during this "new normal." My now-cancelled vacation to WDW that was supposed to happen on June 24th was a big motivator for me, and I have lost my incentive to really commit to weight loss. I'm trying to get that motivation back. We are booked for the Polynesian in July 2021, but I'm concerned that that trip may not happen. I really need a vaccine to feel comfortable going.

So here's to a new month and a new beginning!!! Let's do this!!!

Deciding to change your lifestyle certainly requires changing habits-but even little changes can make a difference.

What little (or not so little) change did you make that has been a success on your journey to a healthy lifestyle?

For me, when I got serious about losing weight, it was to stop eating out. I don’t think we ate out my first six weeks of WW. So that meant better meal planning and having the right foods in the house. Not that I was eating only chicken breasts and broccoli or only salads. I tried to come up with meals we enjoyed that I could have at home. Some of our favorites are steamed shrimp from the grocery store, steaks on the grill or even a slice of pizza. And on Fridays I always enjoyed a glass of wine or a lite beer. I think it helped me get off to a good start and when I did go out I was able to make better choices.
