out to eat with my family tonight - and it was awesome! It felt very safe - the tables were all at least ten feet apart, paper menus instead of the reusable ones, all condiments were brought in small disposable cups. All staff wore masks and gloves, and my family wore masks until our food came. It was sooo nice to be out - the waitress got almost a 40% tip just because I was in such a good mood. :cool1:

Good for you! Our state isn’t close to opening restaurants but you’d never know it from all the people out today. I have heard more people than ever saying they are over it. So we will see what happens to the numbers. Hopefully we won’t see a surge and we can start enjoying ourselves again.

Restaurants opened in Georgia this week. We haven’t eaten in a restaurant yet, but boy were the parking lots crowded when we drove by today. Maybe next weekend! I think we are just about ready.

Awesome news! Here in Indiana, our restaurants can open at 50% on May 11. Just in time for a couple of meals to to celebrate Mother's Day for my DW and our DS's 14th birthday!

We did grab some McD's today and ate at the park. It was the first meal we have eaten outside of our home since March 13.

Thats so great! Glad you had a wonderful time!

We had one of the nicest days, weather wise, in WI of all 2020 so far.
Wish I could be sipping a drink overlooking a lake sunset at an outdoor bar....but alas, we are still under lock and key:(

This was the first time I've been out except for groceries or takeout in 7 weeks. I was a little nervous but felt so much better when I saw all the safety measures by the restaurant, and it really raised all of our spirits to be out even briefly. I hope you get to go out soon too!

Glad you enjoyed yourselves. It'll be awhile before we sit down for a meal outside the house but it's always great when someone else does the cleanup.

We are still awhile (I am hearing months) away from opening restaurants/bars/etc. Retail may open by mid-month.

Good for you! I was just thinking yesterday what it will be like to go out to eat again...we have been under stay at home orders for 8 weeks....no end in sight.

My sister in law and I grocery shopped this morning and my daughter in law and I walked for 6 miles this afternoon with our dogs!! Shopping and walking were both 6 feet apart, but it was nice to be around family and talk about our future plans...when we can be together again ❤️

Our restaurants open on Monday but several are opting to just continue take out/delivery. We haven't peaked yet and numbers keep rising. Hair and nail salons open too. Again some are waiting.

Idk when our restaurants will open. If I'm already back at work I'll probably go out to eat too, but if I'm still working from home I'll wait to eat out. When the salon opens up I'm there, though.

I usually don’t eat out unless I am on vacation, so when our restaurants open, I doubt if I will partake. I will be happy for others and happy that people won’t need to buy so many groceries. I am looking forward to going back to weekly, as opposed to monthly, grocery shopping.

I'm jelly! Restaurants are not open here yet, but I do miss going out ... like 99% of us right now. lol

Sounds like they really took precautions to keep everyone safe. :thumbsup2 That's awesome!!

We are in Georgia. My two daughters & I went out mid afternoon Thursday to a nearby Mexican restaurant. Not a lot of diners inside, they had removed all the tables so only booths were available so every other one was in use. Regular plastic menu, disposable utensils sealed in bag with napkin, salt/pepper packet. I really don't remember if waiter had on a mask but pretty sure he did. Everything was wonderful.
Today around 6pm me, my two daughters & 2 teen grandsons went to Applebee's. Had to sit at 2 different tables as they said they could only seat 4 to a table. Theirs was set up every other table with the tables opposite were the same but the ones directly across were empty so the boys were across & down a bit. Funny thing is tho, I could have probably leaned across & touched the people at the other table across & down the other way. Weird. Tables were numbered so they told us which number to sit at & seat ourselves. We had to walk pretty close by other diners to get to table. Not many at bar area so they were spaced good. Paper menu, real silverware in an unsealed plastic bag. Condiments in those little plastic packets. All the servers had masks on. We were seated close to the area where people were coming in a side door to pick up or place to go orders. A lot of those people were coming in and the area was so small they were all right next to each other, no social distancing there. Hostess was barely civil, waitress was good. My food was really good, lol.
