This may have been noted already, but it appears student loan payments are being automatically suspended during the 6 month period covered by the Cares Act. At first, I thought it was only interest that was suspended during that period. Also, if any payment was made starting March 13th, you can get it refunded. The best part is suspended payments still qualify as "payments" if you are working toward a PSLF program.

Not all student loans are covered by the Act. I think it only applies to those held by the federal government.

I called and moved my reservation to Thanksgiving. Changed it to 2 nights instead of 3 and used the leftover value to get another 3 day flex base ticket for DH (since he wasn't going to come on this Spring Break trip). Paid another $55 OOP.

I asked to leave the 3 tickets I already have alone, which didn't seem to be a problem. I have the same Delta Vacations confirmation number. The tickets show up as Activities 1 (original 3 tickets with the same ticket number) and Activities 2 (DH's new ticket, no ticket number which makes sense). So all appears to be in order. 🤞 🤞 🤞 But I will watch it on MDE. The tickets on MDE now show them as valid from 4/4/20 (my dated ticket date) to 12/15/20, so I won't need to worry about getting them changed unless my dates change.
Thanks for the update! This makes me hopeful about my cancellation in June. We don't know exactly what we'll do to adjust the trip yet, so I couldn't call yet even if I wanted to. Hopefully nothing changes for you- please let me know if your tickets suddenly disappear from MDE.

Yeah, I thought it was only interest too, so this will be great! I sincerely hope you're right! Thanks!

I saw this today! Hopefully it means what it says and the DoE doesn’t screw it up as they have pretty much everything else to do with PSLF. If they actually implement it as they are saying on studentaid.gov then I am effectively done paying on my loans as my estimated date of forgiveness is September 1, 2020. So needless to say, it was a good moment when I read it earlier!

No I didn't waste most of my afternoon working hours watching days of thunder and reading the internet. I worked hard the whole time :rolleyes1 But really it's been slow and I've only got a couple projects to fill extra time with so I don't want to go too crazy and finish it all too soon. I've got at least 4 more weeks of this.

Nice!!!! I still have 5 years to go on PSLF, but I'm getting my March payment refunded and will be taking advantage of the savings over the next six months to pay down my husband's student loan.

Yea, I should probably see about getting the March payment refunded as well as it was auto debited on the first day of the period. But really if they will just count the rest of the months between now and September as qualifying payments, I’m really inclined to call it even! That, and all of FedLoan’s call centers have been closed so it is really hard to get ahold of them, and I haven’t found their responses to secure messaging to be responsive to the actual question asked.

Have always wanted to watch that but never have for some reason...Worth your while? We love Tom Cruise. Looking forward to the new Top Gun.

Don't know if you have Moe's or Qdoba? Both of their quesos kills Chipotle's.

I have Qdoba... may check that out. Thanks!

No, I haven't. We will. Less chalk now??? 😂 Thanks
:rotfl:

I've never understood why flour is packed in those ridiculously impractical bags that give up that poof of flour every time you use them. They should come in some kind of container like coffee.
THANK YOU! I open a new bag over the sink and set my container IN the sink to... contain (HA) as much of the "poof" as possible!

Great news from DD's school. Half of her room/board was credited back to her account. They even gave the option to send a refund instead of keeping on the account and using for the next fall. The third option was to donate it back to the school. 😂

I think ours said it would credit by end of month. But we still need to decide what to do with it. I prefer the refund to bank. DH said to leave it on account. But she gets financial aid so I don’t want them to use it against her calculations next year. I bet they will use it either way. But hopeful that if they don’t see it they will forget about it. 🤣

When I worked in the office, I only checked my mailbox on the weekends. Now I check it almost daily, but am a little nervous about going through it. Then wash my hands afterwords.

Today I had the thought to wait until tomorrow, before the mail comes, to get today's mail. Then any virus will have had time to weaken or die off. Will still handle gently and wash hands, but in my mind, it's a little safer.
Our schedules are a little off as well since it was the routine by the time hubby got home the mail arrived so he'd bring it in on the way in the door. Well he's already in the house now so we tend to forget about it until the next day (maybe Monday in the case of Saturday mail ) like we would usually do if it was an off day and he beat the mail guy home - or we had Late Larry who liked to deliver in the dark.

Since we've pretty consistently forgot about it, rather than forgetting about it we said we've been allowing the mail to self-quarantine, it only seemed right. :p

But it doesn't seem like a bad idea to let it isolate before handling. Shouldn't hurt anything and puts off those bills for another day ;)

I enjoyed it, good racing movie. I could have done without the romance part of it but that's because I prefer my sports movies to just be sports movies or it not be in your face at least. Like Miracle, Field of Dreams, the Mighty Ducks trilogy and Rush. I also hadn't seen it and since it's from 1990 didn't fit in my 80's movies so I fit it in today.

Also, it was much better than Yesterday which I watched on Wednesday. Enjoyable but I think I had higher hopes of it being better than it was.

Working from home the first week was weird but fine. Working from home this week was weird and very much not fine! I worked very late on Tuesday and then started work late on Wednesday and Thursday (but still got everything done and was available at my scheduled times!). I normally don’t work Fridays but today had a couple meetings, then a two hour nap, then dealt with a couple phone calls and emails - all very necessary and it was only a couple hours of work, but it is so NOT my normal routine. It is so hard to put up appropriate boundaries and maintain productivity when doing work is as easy as answering a call on my personal cell or clicking a few buttons on my laptop to remote in to my work computer. I’m going to have to try harder next week as it looks like we will be dealing with a shelter in place order at least through the end of the month. And my side gig is officially canceled through at least August or so, and it’s questionable if I’ll even be invited back when they do open up.

I actually called Fed Loan twice yesterday and got through to people both times immediately. No wait at all. I called twice because the first rep recommended it would be faster to have my bank reverse the transaction. I hung up and called Bank of America and it was an hour and a half wait! I called Fed Loan back and got someone immediately again and she initiated the refund. I did have a coworker email them and has not gotten a response. The two reps I spoke to yesterday seemed knowledgeable and were able to easily answer my questions and refund the payment.
