Trip planned for April 13th...would you cancel??

I’d cancel. WDW won’t be open for the next eight weeks per the CDC guidelines.
I’m holding out hope for our trip at the end of July.

I'm waiting until the day before to cancel now that Disney allows that. Heck who wouldn't want to be the first guest allowed back in to the Kingdom? Heck my flights cost me half the original price and I am getting better FP+ times. I'm all in! ;)

I'm in the same boat as I'm down for star wars weekend. So far I'm not cancelling since the race isn't (yet) cancelled. Once race is cancelled I'll cancel my reservations.

The CDC guidelines exempted businesses and schools, but I still would be shocked if WDW is open by mid-April. I have a trip planned the 19-22 and I am highly doubtful they'll be open by then. I have a June trip booked and I'm honestly nervous about that one as well. Personally, I'm going to wait to get the final word on my April trip because it'll probably kick some mechanisms into place that'll make it easier for me to cancel and be refunded, but I think you should start preparing yourself to cancel.

I would cancel, even if they are open im thinking you wont want to be near that place. Thats the day after Easter. It was going to be busy anyways... then add locals and people in driving distance. We need to reschedule our dates and we think its going to be crazy for awhile.

I would cancel if I had anything in April. I highly doubt it would be open, I feel like May and June would be very uncertain at this point, but I would definitely cancel April trips. Keep in mind if they open it might not be worth it anyway, since they probably will cancel parades or other things that would involve close contact with strangers. So I would wait until fall if I wanted the whole experience.

We are supposed to go 6/23-6/30. Any thoughts on what late June is like? (knowing this will be speculation only) We are proceeding as normal. Fortunately, are our costs are through Disney (dont have to worry about offsite deposits) and we are driving (so dont have to worry about plane tickets).

I have a trip booked for the end of April and just Incase the park is closed then end of May and the end of June I can cancel with in 5 days if my trips so I am good

Couple of thoughts on this. While yes, it will likely get "worse" before it gets better, it is most likely going to be due to increased numbers of people already infected. There will likely be a sharp rise, then we will be able to see what is really going on. A lot of people have been infected just not tested. All the moves being done now won't change those numbers, but may help keep them from continuing to rise. Stuff like the CDC guidance is not worth much, it is guidance and mandatory. Also, they can change it at anytime. So, you may see in a week to 10 days that they come out and lift that and do a victory lap....blah blah blah. But, it could also go the other way.

As for Disney and the college program. That is to save money and even if they do reopen, it will likely be a phased approach with limited hours or some such thing. Most people are cancelling their trips, not just in the next month or two, but even six months out. So, they will not have a huge crowd of people going right off the bat and can likely get by with limited staff.

Just my thoughts, we have a trip in mid april, one in early june. I don't know april will happen and I am sure the half marathon will be cancelled. But I am pretty confident June will be happening.

Our trip is that same week...

Me: so what are the chances a theme park like Disney and a family like ours could end up together that week?
Everybody else: not good
Me: not good like one in a hundred?
Everybody else: more like one in a million
Me: SOOOOO YOUR TELLING ME THERE IS A CHANCE!!
(with apologies to Dumb and Dumber)

We'll just have to wait and see....

We're booked for April 11-18. Given that they have lifted the holding points and banking restrictions, I'm waiting and betting they'll cancel mine automatically if necessary or I'll do it at day 1 if necessary. If the resorts open back up, we're going. We shall see.

I really think they are going to automate some of these cancellations pretty quickly in the interest of saving valuable and expensive human resources. Especially if this extends beyond the end of the month.

Waiting to see. No reason to do anything right now.

If it's stressing you out, cancel.

If you're able/willing to ride the wave to see how things shake out, don't cancel.

At this point, I'm not cancelling my May trip unless disney cancels it for me or American Airlines doesn't fly planes.

Be realistic friends. To restart resorts, parks and transportation is going to take time. There is the cleaning of parks and resort rooms, restocking restaurants, testing of attractions, inspections from state and local government. Rehire of employees that fail to return to work. Think about this with a logical mind. If Disney is closed for a few months in actual time it will take a while to get it ready to open again when the situation passes. I am guessing closed at least till August and then maybe open in another month after assuming world economic collapse doesn't take us all down before that. God I hate this bug. Just makes me a pessimistic apocalypse nut.

Our trip is April 11-18. I know we will have to cancel. Figures i’ll just wait for Disney to cancel it. Same with airfare. I have 1 flight with Jetblue, 1 with SW. Most of the SW nonstop flights on my travel date from our airport show as unavailable today. I think they are getting ready to cancel. I am going to wait for them to cancel so I can get a refund. If I got a credit it would expire Oct 30, wouldn’t get to use it. If they cancel, they’ll have to refund

our trip was scheduled for April 21-28. Last week we postponed to October. Disappointed yes, but so much less stress and worry about would we be able or willing to travel in 5 weeks. I feel like a weight has been lifted.
Plus, now I have 6 more months to plan :-)

We are supposed to arrive May 26. I'm not planning on canceling at the moment because we are booked with a free dining bounceback. Does anyone know what the chances would be of Disney honoring our discount if we were to reschedule?

I am booked for April 15. I don't think the parks will reopen until mid May at the absolute soonest due to the CDC guidelines of 8 weeks no gatherings over 50. I think June and beyond are still in question. Still, I will cancel when it is announced and rebook for late June... And hope that doesn't need to be cancelled also.

We are booked to arrive April 29. I’m not canceling until Disney tells me I have to!
