Rise of the Resistance BOARDING GROUPS Superthread Part 2 *No Ride Spoilers Please* *PLEASE READ POSTS 1-3*

I don’t remember who mentioned the pop ups yesterday when launching the app, but thank you!! I went today and got a pop up the first two times I launched the app (getting a fast pass and then trying for ROTR). For my ROTR try, i opened the app just after 7:59am to give me time - and stayed somewhat calm as the pop ups weren’t unexpected. I got really lucky with group 26 - early call today before any breakdown.

I was in the line back to Starbucks this morning-was not expecting that! It did become a free for all I’d say by 7:35 as people realized more lines converted to regular from magic morning. No pics taken, things moved quick. I got in, booked a fast pass, then hopped over to DCA. The lines for DL were not bad at all (not even to monorail) - about 7:45ish, so I don’t know why backup groups lasted.

wow a second thread, thanks everyone for all the live updates. I'm kinda freaking out for June but secretly hoping they wont be still doing boarding groups. At least I'm a lot more prepared than most summer visitors

:disrocks:

Question, I’ve read this and much of the first superthread but maybe missed an answer to this. I understand planning to be in line 1-1.5 hours early from park opening time. What about on EMH mornings that we plan to attend. If EMH is at 7am should we plan on being there between 5:30am -6am? We will be staying at the Grand Californian and plan on trying to get a boarding group every day of our trip. I’ve been practicing at home but want to make sure we are doing everything right when we get there
This answer was given in several posts in the old thread, but I've moved it to the first post on page one here, FAQs, to make it easier to find. As a pp responded, your hunch of 1-1.5 hours before opening (regular or EMH/MM) should be fine if you want to be at the front of the line.

In the queue and they announced the ride is down “Due to First Order activity...” no eta and if you leave the Queue you are done for the day. No possible re-entry.
The biggest irritation is that when the ride goes down there is ZERO communication from the CM’s. Just some broadcast canned message about “we are boarding no more missions... no ETA”. Over 1 and 1/4 hours sitting on the floor of the cave and not a sign of a ride CM. Someone who claimed to be a CM on another ride went up front and then came back through the Queue and told us that it was a min of 45 mins and max 90 mins before they could reset the ride. That at least was something. She also said if we left (other than to go to the bathroom), that was it we would loose our boarding group and be locked out of the ride for the rest of the day without compensation. Their customer service when this happens frankly, SUCKs!!
It is so frustrating to hear that this policy is still in place and no improvements have been made.

I am really surprised that this hasn’t been addressed and fixed by now.
Totally agree. :(

I get stressed reading about these lines and I’m not even there lol
Me, too, and reading about the lines and the breakdowns stresses me out and worries me about trying to ride. Yuck.

... Morals of the story: screenshot! And dont be afraid to ask...
Words of wisdom!

Keep watching this thread & you’ll be fine. Lots of good info and the latest is always in the first three posts.

Our time at Disneyland has come to an end. My family was lucky enough to ride RotR 3 times. We received fastpasses after it broke down yesterday, went back at around 6 and the entire ride queue was full I was about to give away our fastpasses (I was planning on texting screenshots) but decided to give it a try. Didn’t realize they had a fastpass line, it was awesome and we were done by 6:30. Thanks everyone for the tips, if you read this thread and follow instructions you’ll get a boarding group. May the force be with you.

No need to freak out -- you I don't worry about! -- in the sage words of Douglas Adams, "Don't panic!" (And bring a towel!) As long as your phone and the app cooperate, you should be fine.

... There were another mother/daughter there trying to get a group. I looked at her app and asked if she had scanned in Disneyland as it showed as not in the park and she did not realize that and said but I got a fastpass for over there. I felt bad for them as she really thought she was scanned in to get the boarding group...
This makes me sad. I hope this wasn't their only day to try for a BG.

So glad to hear how reading this Superthread paid off for you! Knowing what to expect or at least not being thrown by something from left field is one of the benefits of all the research you did in advance!

Woke up at 5:30 , showered and headed down to the craftsman grill for morning coffee (complimentary for GC guests !) . Headed into the esplanade through the GC entrance join the masses in line ! No line at bag check at GC .
Wish is luck !
Hopefully practice makes perfect !
Edit - in line 6:30 am . Lucky number 13 , by the planter . We are about 10 deep now , but it’s building quickly behind us !
Edit - lines past the monorail tracks already
Edit - lines 3 flags deep now , 7am
Edit - lines about to DCA , 7:08
Edit - gates open 7:10
Edit - boarding group 28 attained !

Situations like these are frustrating to hear. :( I don't understand how they are ok with essentially trapping people in line with little to no updates for so long.

Made it to 95 today after a long downtime. We were called at 5:22, but we had just found a spot to watch the parade. It said return by 7:22, so we weren't worried. After the parade passed us we started meandering toward the ride and we opened the app and it showed our boarding group expired and said we were to have returned by 6:22. Even though I knew better I hadn't taken a screen shot of anything. By the time we got to the ride it was showing groups 105-114. I went up to a cast member to ask and she said, "Oh yeah, you're fine." I was still kind of freaked out, but when we went to the check in person she didnt even scan our boarding groups, just waved us through. 🤷‍♀️ Morals of the story: screenshot! And dont be afraid to ask. Also, the line is humongous....practically to the entrance, winding all around. Guessing we're missing our next fastpass.

I noticed that it has changed to a one hour window in at least some screenshots from recent days. I'm glad you got to ride!

We are here today. Got out of our Lyft at the Harbor drop-off at 7:05. Went through the no-bags security line, it looked like they opened the gates and started scanning at 7:10ish. Got through security at 7:15, scanned into the park at 7:28. We are sitting on the train platform waiting for 8:00am.

My daughter forgot her phone in the hotel so all we have is my phone. I also just realized that my husband’s AP is still on my account, so I’ll have to unclick his name. Also, I haven’t had coffee yet. This may be the right combination for greatness or disappointment, we shall see...

Yesterday's data supports the "A-team" hypothesis. As DHS performance has grown stronger over the past three days, ours is degrading. The deciding factor seems to be how quick the attraction can bounce back after it goes down. The last couple of days have each seen at least one extended downtime. Still possible that it is all coincidence. Hopefully this trend does not combine with the Sunday curse - with luck we'll buck the trend today and have an excellent operating day.

May the Force be with you! 7 minutes to go!

Say it with me: "I am one with the force and the force is with me. I am one with the force and the force is with me. I am one with the force..."

Internet speeds here are a lot slower today than two weeks ago. Still more than enough at around 15mbps and 30ish ping. We shall see.
