Has that ever happened before? I don't remember it ever doing so, but I also haven't followed along since day one so I'm not sure at this point. Imagine if you were group 70, that'd be a nice little bonus
I don't think we've ever had a report of this happening but it doesn't really matter. Unless the ride has a really bad day they get through to 80 bg almost every day

Never practiced, but thanks to this thread I got my family BG 26 this morning. Currently in line! I did the wait for 8:00:03 before trying. Zero issues. I even had to select people since we have an under 3. Thank you everyone!
Congratulations! If you can also share what spot of the park you were in, and whether on wifi or cell data?

Oh I wasn't really worried, I knew we'd ride today. I just didn't expect the number to change. Still, I'd imagine someone who had BG 70 that didn't know any better was ecstatic to see it lol

Data. Att. iPhone XS. Stood right in front of the launch bay. Very few people over there. My son who had to use wifi had wifi drop on him, so probably not a great wifi spot. He didn’t have a chance! But hey, we had done all the meets done by 8:20. Ha ha.

For people who have done this with the 8 a.m. opening, approximately what time do you need to get in line to be able to be in the park at opening to get a boarding group? Are we talking 7 a.m. in line for entry? Or 6 a.m.?

If you're at the park by 7, you should be fine. But leave yourself enough time to wait for a bus or get your rideshare or drive over.

Thanks! We're staying at Beach Club, so we plan to walk. This is helpful to time out when we need to leave. I'm a huge planner, and DHS is really giving me anxiety this trip since there are so many variables there now. :D

You aren't there so that is as far as your can go in the process for practice.

If you are there go to GET immediately

But this guy from Germany was not at the park and he said the following:

"Haha, strange. Just practiced at home and was able to get a regular boarding group. I am sitting in Germany, thousands of kilometers away from holy Galaxys"

Walking is best. You're good to go. MTFBWY!

To me it comes down to a major question - 1) if you just want to be inside the park to join a BG but no other immediate rope drop plans, or 2) you want to be in the park to get a BG AND want to rope drop a ride and be more towards the front than the back of the building queue..

If you're going for #1 - then it's easy enough to plan a later arrival... meaning much closer to park opening. DHS has been well-staffing all security lines and tapstyles, so generally speaking, it's a very efficient process getting into the park. Last Friday and Saturday I was at the tapstyles one day around 7:35 and the other day around 7:50 - I was walking from BWI so left there roughly 15 mins earlier (round numbers). While the inflow of people into the park at this time is large, lines for security and the tapsyles were only a handful of people each and moved quickly. No major lines or delays. From BC I think you could start walking anywhere in that 7-7:30 window and be totally fine.

If you're going for #2, then that's a different story. I'd recommend arriving at DHS around 1.5 hours before park opening if not earlier. You'll go through security and then be held at the tapstlyes. They'll open the tapstyles around 7am. There's alot more dead time/waiting around under this scenario.

Hope that helps!

Sorry to chime in on this, because I haven't read every thread on here, but How does one practice prior to going...I'm assuming once you open the APP, it'll recognize that I am not down in WDW, and also not checked into a park, Correct? Am I missing something :confused3
