I hope this is ok to post here, if not let me know and I'll edit/delete post:

I have an annual fee that has come due on a CIP. I want to either downgrade or cancel - here's what I currently have with Chase:

Business Cards
CIC (started as CIP and PCed when annual fee came due)
CIP (annual fee now due)
another business card (annual fee will be due in June)
SW Performance Biz

Personal Cards
CFU
SW Priority Personal

I would like to open myself for more UR cards in the future, but not sure which way would be best with my CIP that the annual fee is currently due. Cancel or PC to something else... not sure what that would be if that's my best option.

Thanks!

No hockey for us. We are going up for admitted student day at UM. The session is all day Monday and since he had school off anyway it seemed a good day to do it. I will take any recommendations for food though. We will arrive Sunday afternoon so just staying Sunday night.
What kind of food do you like? I was there last weekend for Mom's weekend. Missed the hockey game due to a 4 hour flight delay :(
I hope he loves it. We had a mild Feb weekend for our admitted student day. I hope you do too!

Thanks for reminding me. I saw it earlier and forgot to register. We actually have a stay on Feb 16 so getting that first stay in is good timing. But no other plans right now. 😢 😢 Will maybe have to push DH into some work trips. haha I don't like to pay for the hotels, lol, so work trips would be better to rack up the points. Though I am actually paying for the stay this weekend at a Hyatt PLACE. I have about 5 Hyatt HOUSE offers on my cards but no Place!! They must know!
And it is not even anything good, stupid Ann Arbor in February, I want warm not Michigan. (haha I say this because I know all the UM love here. lol)
I think I will switch my points booking to a cash stay at a Hyatt Place on my way home next week. The hotel with tax is less than $115 and the points gained over the promotion will (for my future choices) essentially make it free and then some after I've done at least 3 weekend nights with the 1500 point promo.

Oh wow. I've done this several trips and never had to wait more than a few minutes. Only a handful of times when I didnt feel like heading there in the evening, DH just went to take care of it during our breakfast at the resort. Not sure about the convention resort theory, as we've had success doing this twice at CSR and there were lots of business folks there on both trips. Hmmm.

I actually had this happen on a trip when we were staying at the Swan last year. I always max out a GC to bring for spending and that trip I obviously couldn't use my band to charge so I used the GC instead. Multiple CMs commented (albeit quietly) and/or gave me shocked eyes when they circled my balance. This happened at stores in MK and at booths at Epcot for F&W. Made me a bit uncomfortable.
my life...when I go I usually use a gc starting with a large balance.... I've never felt uncomfortable, it seemed funny to me,the reaction that after buying some fries I still have $678 left on the gc :rotfl2:

LOL. You can see my mindset...it's president's weekend...it's Michigan....therefore it's hockey, LOL.

Okay on campus, Cottage Inn pizza is a classic, but I honestly prefer Pizza House. You must get the shakes/malts there as well. If you want something truly Ann Arbor, order a Chapati. It's a salad kinda in a pita (I don't do salad, but like I said, it's very A2). If you want deli sandwiches you have to do Zingermann's in Kerrytown. But I prefer Zingerman's roadhouse. For breakfast Angelo's (by the med school) is a MUST!

If you like good deli and specialty items Zingermans is a classic AA spot. The line can sometimes be out of the building on weekends but it moves fast.

If you prefer not to eat downtown there's a nice restaurant at a cool hotel called Weber's. White table cloths and a pianist at night but it's not stuffy or over priced. They have an amazing brunch buffet on Sundays.

So many other options downtown as well, if you have a specific cuisine in mind let us know.

Slept in until 7:30 this morning as I wasn't back in my room until almost 2am.

Moonlight Madness was a success for us. My sister in law got to ride the Safari, Navi River, FOP twice -once at 35 minute wait and once at 20 minute wait and could have done a late ride at 10 minute wait. She also rode Expedition Everest twice, Dinosaur once and we finished up with watching the Rivers of Light show. We ate at Pizzafari and Satuli but did not eat any ice cream although I saw a lot of people enjoying it.

We enjoyed the DJ and dancing with characters over by Dinoland. It was a lot of fun. We arrived at the park at about 6:30pm, had picked up our tickets at BWV with no wait and then went directly to the Safari which still had a significant time listed. So we doubled back and ate food at Pizzafari (they started accepting the food ticket at 7) then went on back to the Safari. It had cleared out at by then, it was about 7:30 and we were on and off in about a half hour plus a few minutes.
So as we did our 10 minute walk through for Navi - I was trying to delay getting to FOP so the time would drop - we were behind a few people for a boat in the stanchion (not sure what to call the loading corral - maybe loading corral?). Anyway the last woman in that boat stepped onto it and then got back off. Turned out the couple wouldn't allow her to sit although that was her assigned space. So of course she was a very slight bit upset and we all started talking as the 3 of us took the next row.
She was there alone, a woman of about my SIL and my age - 60ties to 70ties, retired school teacher from Massachusetts, definite Disney fan and DVC member, so we joined up and toured together for the rest of the evening! She loves all the thrill rides and was a perfect companion for SIL for the things I don't do and I was able to wait out and amuse myself with the street entertainment while they did the rides - short waits for me! And I didn't have to feel guilty about not joining my SIL on rides I can't do. So happy to have met her and hope our paths cross again.

They had to encourage us to leave the park at midnight we were having so much fun talking and laughing and finally SIL and I got our own tram to my car and new friend went over to catch her bus. Dropped off SIL over at Reunion and back to my bed and got the best nights sleep so far this trip!

And now they are knocking on my door - it's 9:36am - and I haven't had my shower yet. Joining my family at the big house for the next two days, and we have some lunch plans so I better get moving. TTFN! Credit card related - let my brother see all my CC's, lol!

For those of you that are using Free Tax USA I wanted to provide a data point. Filed my Federal and State returns Sunday Feb 2nd - Federal return was deposited into my account this morning the 12th. 10 days 👍🏻

Also used Aspire SW airline credits this past week. EBCI and points booking fees reimbursed 6 days after purchase.

As a WVU fan (the whole Rich Rod debacle) and a default OSU fan (born in Ohio all my family is in Ohio) I will NOT love it. Lol I was not very happy he applied. Lol. My sister used to live near Ann Arbor, so I do agree it is a cute town. But he can’t make me like UM. 🤣 I say this as I’m wearing a Notre Dame sweatshirt that I also told DD she couldn’t make me like. Darn kids.

I just ran mine through Turbo Tax and Free Tax USA last night. Same numbers on both. Turbo Tax wants $80, Free Tax wants $12.95. Sold!

Just not yet as I knew we would owe a good chunk this year and we do... $3300 :crazy2: But I was expecting it and have it mostly put aside already. Our taxes were a mess this year.

I think you should get another CIP before you cancel that one, that way you don’t lose the 1.25x portal redemption. But once you have another CIP in your portfolio you can close that one, is there a reason why you are keeping the CIC open? You can also close that one if you don’t need it.

Y'all could have kept DRod! I'm just happy that "era" was when my DS was a newborn/baby. Had it been pre-kids I probably would have had a heart attack, and lots of damage around my house, LOL.

Here my son has asked, what if I get a scholarship to State or Ohio State....I've said, looks like you won't be playing college hockey then, LOL.
