One more question :-)

We will stay 1 night at AKV in front of our 8 night BWV stay with the Dining Plan.

We will make the online check in for both stays. when can we use our credits? do we have to check in at the second resort in person or when we get the room ready text?

thank you

Oliver

You should be able to use dining credits the day your BWV reservation starts, if you checked in online.

My experience has been you can use the DDP from midnight of check-in day through midnight of check-out day. I have done split stays where both stays have had a dining plan, and the only stipulation was the first stay's credits had to be completely used up prior to the second one kicking in. In your situation, I don't see why you would not have the credits available for breakfast that morning because there's nothing else to be used up.

I would recommend going to the desk and formally checking out. There can be confusion in the reservation system, I believe, that could delay your room being ready at BWV by showing you as still registered at AKV. AKV could also call BWV to let them know you've checked out and see if your room is ready. (WL did this for us on one of our trips.) They can also check to be sure your DDP credits are on your account at that time- before you head to eat. A quick 5 minute stop could save you headaches later in the day.

If you are staying on DVC points, make sure you check out of the AKV before you leave and check into the BWV. Otherwise, your dining will get messed up. I would check out before you eat at AKL.

What do you mean with messed up?

If i have the DDP for both or all three stays, would that effect it anyway? I can use the credits on the check out day from my first resort till midnight even if i check in the 2 resort? the ddp credits from the second resort i can then use at the morning after check in day?
is this correct? :-)

one meal plan must be exhausted before the start of the next one. You cannot have 2 active meal plans for one person. The system doesn’t work that way. Hence the consistent advice to use all your credits from the first stay

Ok i hope i understand it correct.
So if i use the first DDP Credits till , lets say 8 pm on check out day first resort / check in second resort will be arround 4pm ( we will do the online check in and go to BWV midday or in the afternoon)
i can use a few minutes after 8pm the DDP Credits from the second resort?

But you cannot combine the credits.

Yes. The check-in time doesn't matter. DDP is always active from midnight the day you check in through midnight of the day you check out. All the credits will appear in your amount, but you cannot access them until all of the credit from the first stay's plan are either used up or expire. Like @Pumbaa_ said, you cannot have 2 plans active for the same person at the same time.

SO, if your AKL stay has a standard DDP, you need to use up the one QS, one TS and 2 snack credits, plus get the mug for each person in your party before you can access the DDP for your BWV stay. If you use a TS for dinner the night you check in, then get a QS breakfast and the mug the next morning, you would still need to use up the 2 snack credit per person before you could use any credits for the BWV stay on your changeover day.

I would still advise you to check OUT at the AKL desk prior to leaving. It's definitely worth the time to make sure your new room is ready and that the two accounts are straight.

I think I understand but I just want to make sure. I have an upcoming DVC split stay. 3 nights first at Grand Floridian with the deluxe dining plan followed by 4 nights Riviera with NO dining plan. On the day I check out of Grand Floridian, we will still be able to use a credit for breakfast over at Riviera? Should I not check in to Riviera first or does that not matter?

Your GF credits shouldn't expire until midnight of the day you check out. Make sure you check out of GF before you check into RIV and ask the CM at the desk to insure your credits are still good.

I have now changed my AKV reservation to a BWV. So we are staying 9 nights at the BW. But the first night is on a different membership so we will have 1 night and 8 nights. If we can stay in the same room and i purchase the DP for the 1 night and for the 8 nights. Can i use the credits from the first night till check out ( check in 8 night stay) at night or only till the 8 night stay begins? :-) It is a little bit difficult to understand

Yes, but you have to use up all the first night credits before you use any of the eight night credits.

I staying one night at the Pop ahead of my stay, with DDP, at AKL. I checked out of Pop and did online check-in at AKL, but I did not have my credits to use for lunch. I had to call guest services. Seems until the room was actually assigned, the credits weren't active. Guest services got it straightened out, but it took about 30 minutes.
