News Round Up 2020

I'm sure they wouldn't but during a EMM event, they should really either make the pre-shows optional, or ditch them all together. I won't even baby swap FOP due to how long it takes to ride after you get past the queue.

While I agree thr preshow for fop is long that's partly due to load/unload of the group before you. We discovered this at the dis 20th ann party when it took forever both in the preshow and once we were locked onto our banshees.

As someone going in 2021 and sort of sad I may have to deal with 50th Anniversary crowds even as early as May, I can only hope you are right!
We plan on going in June 2021. We figure many new things will be opened since the last time we were there. I am really not sure if I want them to start the 50th celebration that early because I don't want massive crowds. The last time we went was October 2018.

We need to remember that those of us on DISBoards do not represent your normal park guest. People here often (but not always) Travel to the park’s more often than many other guests.

I ageee with @YesterDark. For guests who don’t go to the parks often or, are restricted to when they can go (e.g. teachers), offering these parties in the summer allows them to participate in something they have not been able to in the past.

personally we love going to the MK on party days as others choose to go to other parks due to reduced hours in the MK. We get a TON done between 8/9am and 4 when party guests start to enter!

I know I’m in the minority here but I don’t mind that they start the parties in August!
I too love MK on party days. The issue is it makes fireworks nights packed.

Yeah, I know. It is a way to try to hide that you are still in line. But that shouldn't be a problem at an afterhours event if they are running all the theaters.

I would also rather stand in Queue than that preshow again.

Shouldn't but if people need assistance it will be, from a scooter etc. We didn't time any of it but the preshow was def way longer than normal and we sat locked in on our banshee's so long and then heard loud voices from the people in the section next to us that we thought it had started and our door hadn't gone up. It was just that slow. Our only guess, since it was for the 20th party which only had 1000 people was that we were waiting longer in both sections while they tried to fill the entire ride. Both rides we did that night were the most fun I've had on that ride though, but that was all the company :)

But it would be nice if there was a way to bypass some of the preshow stuff on some of the rides.

Absolutely hated the non Xmas Party day we spent at MK - it went down to 10deg that day and the lines were AWFUL. By comparison I loved the day I spent at MK in November on an Xmas Party night! I left just before 6pm and everything was a breeze!

And cue the outrage of IPs ruining Epcot! ;)
That actually doesnt bother me, Is it a bit large sure, but it looks like it is specifically poiting to the international gateway. Now if you could see the sign clear as day from lets say the walk way from the Imagination pavilion and it screws with the forced perspective of the Effiel tower, than that would be more of a issue.

The interesting thing with this one of s as it is in back of pavilion it is mostly visible to those riding the Skyliner.

So for those that think the Skyliner ruins the view and also hate IP in EPCOT due these two negatives cancel each other out?

And I'll be one of the people intentionally riding the Skyliner just so I can see the sign and take a few pictures on arriving!

I am beyond excited for this ride. :)

I'm excited to see your pictures and see how it looks installed. The pics I've seen so far appear to be promo pictures and don't give an accurate view of the entire area with the sign installed.

oh don't wait on me, I'm not going until April/May 2021.

The fact that it came from a surprise corner and was a breath of fresh air in a struggling R rated market definitely bolsters your argument. I suspect that it is more of a one off than anything else.

Agree with your first sentence. WRT to the 2nd sentence, if you're referring to Joker and sequel by DC, I think it's got teeth. They wouldn't announce it prior to the Academy Awards and perhaps there will be an announcement during or immediately after the awards. Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix have already discussed ideas about a how a sequel would be laid out.

Avengers Endgame and The Lion King each got nominated for best visual effects, but I would give 1917 the win. It exhibited a new style camera technology using a non-CGI overladen approach. I feel that 1917 will sweep the technoligical nominations.

I'm not. Just the popularity of R rated firms in general. Massive successes like Joker are few and far between. I don't see the R-rated market taking off that much. Joker's billion plus gross is an outlier where the next highest grossing are 30% lower or so. To be fair, It, Logan, the Deadpools and Joker have been most of the highest grossing R movies of all time in the last couple years, but I suspect if you adjust for inflation movies like Terminator 2 and Saving Private Ryan would look just as good and the recent movies wouldn't stand out so much.
