I’m watching this thread in preparation for a trip for the 10K on Marathon Weekend.

Has it happened yet, or has it been discussed what happens if all of the BGs have ridden before the park closes?

It hasn't happened yet, it looks like last night was the first night they got through all of them (that we know) by closing time

They got through all the groups on one other day as well (I think friday).

So on EMH days did the on-site residents nab the 1 to 10 slots, if so, maybe the app programmers can’t be arsed changing the programme every day?

If that happens I wonder if they just exchange high fives that they made it through the day without too many breakdowns and shut the ride down for the day. That would be less chaotic than trying to add more BGs or throwing the ride open to standby.

That was the theory, that 1-9 was for on site guests but I don't know if we got that confirmed or not ... I am sure there is some reason but today starting with 8 seems really, um, odd

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure that yesterday the first BG was 13. I was one of the first in the park and snagged BG 14. When the first BG’s were called later that morning it was BG’s 13-14 first for the day. So it looks like they start at a random number, not necessarily number 1.

Yeah, I know someone reported yesterday that they asked if they would be opening new Bags and the CM just let them go on the ride, and also that a manager was able to get their workers onto part of the ride ... So thinking for now they would use any extra time for little things like that (little pixie dust moments) .... Now if they finished with like 4 hours left in the day maybe they reopen them or something but probably easier to not open up that can or worms just for potentially a few more groups

The experience today was so much better than EMH! Unless they fix it where resort guests get the full advantage, I would avoid a Sunday. I got here basically the same time and got the 1st boarding group vs the 12th.

The line was completely empty. I breezed through and got some great pictures. No one coming back through FP+ either. If you can make it work, get here early!

I saw a post on Twitter where they asked CMs why they started with boarding group 8 and they said no particular reason but did confirm that was the first BG if the day (which I think we had acertained)

When we go to Hollywood Studios (January 7th), the park will be opening at 9am. I'm curious to find out if people will still be arriving at 5-6am. Our plan is to take an Uber from Wilderness Lodge to the park at 6:30, arriving at the turnstiles by 7. I hope that's enough.

We did the MK after hours event last night and didn’t get back to Yacht and to sleep until 2 so just couldn’t face it this morning after limited sleep the last few days. Will be there tomorrow again!
