Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

Today they had spots open until 8:45 AM and then they hit capacity. So, as long as you’re there before 8:30 the latest, you’ll be fine. I’ve been studying it the last few days.
The problem is, getting a late boarding pass offers no guarantee that you’ll be able to ride that day.

Got back from a week at POP. The Skyliner was marvelous to have and use. The only hiccup we had was getting from POP to EPCOT for a 6pm ADR at Chefs de France. No problem getting from DHS to POP, went back 20 minutes later to head to EPCOT and it was stopped, no idea when it was going to restart. Back up through Classic Hall and onto a bus that was right there. My wife went into the week saying she was going to ride once and that was going to be it, after the first ride she told me we were taking it every chance we got. My mom said it was her favorite ride at WDW.

So, in theory, the Gondola should start running at 7 a.m. for an 8 a.m. opening. But by then, the lines will be super long, do you think?

Do you think it would be faster to take the monorail to Epcot, from closing at MK, then take the Gondola back to POP? Or would the bus be faster?

Lines for the skyliner? I RD'd epcot one morning, the skyliner line was back to the kiddie pool at POP. Took about 10 minutes, and then no line at CBR to transfer.

The bus would be faster, and your idea would only even be possible if Epcot is still open. Definitely use the bus to and from MK.

What happened at CBR that there was no Gondola running? So if this can happen, there's no way to know it isn't running at CBR? Did you then have to take a bus from there?

Bus would be MUCH faster!

Your suggested route would require:
Monorail MK to TTC
Transfer
Monorail from TTC to Epcot
Walk from main Epcot entrance to IG
Skyliner from Epcot to CB
Transfer (although short)
Skyliner from CB to Pop.

Thanks for the outline of all the steps involved. Exactly what I needed to know.

I didn't have to wait in a line when I transferred. I simply walked from the POP line to the EPCOT line.

He was saying there was no line to wait in at cbr. I also experienced a 5 minute wait at opening one day while at pop. And the line was snakes all the way down to AOA. That same day, the Epcot line was down before opening and the CMs told us this information (we were going to Epcot). CMs said we could either take the bus to Epcot from pop, take the skyliner to CBR and get a bus there or wait to see if the Epcot line opened. We got lucky and as we start to board at pop, the CMs said the Epcot line just opened.

We were at BCV and just wanted to try skyliner, so we went to DHS. The ride was fine. The line for wheelchair/EVC was about 12 people. My DH didn't come, so I have no idea how long it would have taken with his wheelchair. But what was surprising to me was I had trouble boarding. The movement through my step off. Like I needed sea legs. Same with getting off. I felt wobbly for a few steps.

I get this feeling with most of the omnimover rides with moving walkways. It's an adjustment and some people do it naturally and others don't. I'm a don't. I have the same problem with escalators to a small degree. My eye, mind and coordination just don't do it well and it takes me a second or two to figure out what happened afterward. And I'm not a badly coordinated person, it's just something my body doesn't do well. My wife laughs at me all the time about it.
