I am not sure about the next action, I got the executive complaint address for Chase... They said the best they can do is offer a $100 courtesy credit to close my case, said that I am free to keep disputing it otherwise but they can no longer recover the charge from Sears and this is my only option. I accepted the $100, I guess I need to go back to Sears and see what angle I can work with them on it. Just really stinks.

Seriously? That's all they did for you? I don't know what step you could take after that other than going to small claims court or the BBB

It terrifies me thinking how uniformed I was about this! I manage the company credit card accounts and we've done that on a couple of occasions with Amex offers, never thought twice about it. Minimum payments will always be made across all issuers now for sure!
Thanks for the further information on the Chase thing. I keep spreadheets of all my upcoming deductions, and Chase always messes me up by changing the amount when there is a refund. When I do AmEx cash back on my BCP, they don't generally change the upcoming payment in my experience. I have never had Chase add any interest when the minimum balance hasn't been paid, but I will look at it more closely in the future.

The WSJ delivery guy left us a holiday card and inside it said "Merry Christmas Send Xmas Gift Thanks" with his address. Seems counterproductive.

The porters in our building do that and it drives me nuts. The one is so lazy year round and then all of a sudden starts coming to the door with packages and knocking on doors Christmas Eve looking for his tip. We of course always give them something but it's frustrating cause they are so lazy 11 months out of the year.

oh em gee!!! That is so bold, and rude!

Way back before I stopped having the Washington Post delivered, I used to get directions on where to send their 'gratuity'. And eventually the fee and the drops for the paper person was taken over by a company and you had to mail in the cost of the paper monthly to this delivery agent, they had a spot to add a gratuity to your check.

So on one occasion my delivery person came to me, knocked on my door and asked if I had added a gratuity to my check. Turns out the company collected gratuities but weren't so great at getting them back to the person who actually made sure your paper was on your step and not in a puddle. In fact, I had never added to the check as I usually saw the person who delivered at some point, and these people changed frequently plus delivery was sporadic. Shortly after, I stopped delivery.

Well I finally started the process to set up a "business meeting" at a Marriott hotel to earn 10 Nights, hoping to keep DH platinum for another year. Wish me luck.

DD submitted a request for a 30 minute meeting for 2 people at one that calls itself a resort and conference center. The cost came back at $200 with 25% extra for gratuities, but I'm not sure if that was alluding to refreshment service which was offered as an addition.

She did this this morning and has since submitted 3 more requests in the immediate area.

Yeah... A bit of an insult but its just been my luck today... Chase notifies me they wont help, DD has a bad morning and I am an hour late to work, Dropped my breakfast on the floor, now I have been on a SEV1 call now for two hours, mostly silence and missed lunch... Hoping I am not going to be spending the weekend here again. So here I sit in a dark office, door closed, eating cheese balls...

I have a weird question about Amex. For some reason when DH applied for his Platinum last year, Amex just added his MR account to my MR account, so both his and my points are in one account. I think that's because he has been an AU on my gold for over 2 decades. I think that's perfectly fine because really, it's one pocket. The problem I have is what will happen when he cancels his Platinum? Do his points just stay in my account? He has no other MR generating Amex cards (except for his AU on my Gold card).

Well, all I've done is submit the request to be contacted by the hotels. Hopefully it's easy and I get the nights before the 1st of the year.
I've read that some hotels have the ability to book everything online, the hotels in our area don't have that. She might start checking to see if it's possible.

We definitely benefited from being Platinum.

I drove around yesterday and stopped by two local Bonvoy properties to speak with the area sales coordinator, and one said they were booked out until January and the other said I could only get 10 Elite Night credits if I booked a night (smh, I don't think he had any clue what he was talking about). RapidTravelChai suggested this method for getting events inexpensively, and it didn't really pan out for me.

This morning I called another one about 20 minutes away, and that person was able to get me in tomorrow morning for a one hour meeting ($150+taxes/fees= $184) and he seemed totally knowledgeable about the 10 Elite Nights. He did say it would take a few days to get the credit. I've only given myself a 3 1/2 week buffer with this, so I hope it doesn't drag out like I've read on some online reports.

I've faxed in the forms and payment, and I'm set to have a meeting with DH tomorrow. Just one more night stay and I'll be Plat again next year if everything falls into place.

Ick I’m seeing rain for next weekend when we’re supposed to be at Disney. It’s only 40% chances but I sure hope those go away

I also totally forgot friends is coming off Netflix in like a month and I’ll have no other way to watch it 😭 All of the seasons on Walmart are $107 and that’s too much for me to spend

I have been watching the weather also. We are there the 14th-18th. Looks like mostly low 70's. ( I was so hoping that we would not get the 30's they had when @wendow was there). Haley - how has the weather been at night? Ok to wear capris and sandals or does it cool down too much. Have to figure out what to pack...

If it doesn’t cool down you would be okay in capris and sandals. We usually have a light jacket on walks at night but that’s because we just had a cold front. It’s beautiful today and warmed back up.

Have you found a place to stay for when you take her down? I'm struggling to find anything for the first two nights. I was able to get ASMo for $78 night for the last nights but the first two are $$$$. No values available and mods are way more than I'm willing to pay for a mod. I might redeem a couple of FNC's for the Marriott Village since my dd will be right there in the DCP housing.
I'd do the Marriott village if you have no other use for those certs. I was looking last night and plugged in her address at both Hilton and marriott and the closest locations came up as bonnet creek for hilton and flamingo crossing for marriott. we will probably do whatever I get really cheap on cash rate or use a marriott FN cert.

I'll be honest...I love my slow cookers (yes, I have more than one) and I use them often. Because I'm home typically earlier in the day doing school, I prep the meal and then put it in the crock pot so we have dinner even on crazy evenings. I got an IP two years ago and I've just not fallen in love with it. I want to though. Is there a website you recommend or something that is helpful? I want it to be as easy as my crock pot but it seems anything but to me. The few times I have used it, it just seems like a lot of work and I know I'm missing something.
I haven't used a slow cooker since I got my IP about 3 years ago. There is no comparison to me. Adventures of a Nurse and This old Gal have blogs and there are loads of ideas in IP FB groups.

My stroller hook broke. Maybe I pick one of these up this weekend.

Although DD is 2.5 and I’m hoping our stroller days are ending soon.
I’m a mean parent and my ds has been walking at wdw since 3
My boys walked at 3 as well, but my DD is quite a wimpy little thing and expects royal treatment, so at almost 4 now I am expecting another year of stroller pushing to spare me the whining.

I'm excited for a couple days in the 80s next week but have been wondering about night time too.

So do you need 30 nights to stay Plat or 50? For some reason I thought it was only 30, am I crazy?
