Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

Disney Springs station most likely won't happen unless they institute a parking charge for Disney Springs, or they only run the line starting in the late afternoon.
I was staying near a shopping/dining area near a rail station. You swiped your credit card when you entered and when you left. You got a couple of hours of free parking. I've been to other locations where parking got "validated" at the point of purchase. Instead of stamping your parking receipt an entry was made in the computer and the applicable number of free hours was automatically credited to you.

I suspect people parking at DS in order to avoid theme park parking are going to want to park for hours more then people visiting DS. A few hours free parking and generous validation should accommodate people who are avoiding theme park charges. Only issue would be if a drinking guest decided to Uber home. System could even waive those charges if your bar tab was large enough.

Years ago rumor was Disney was going to put a second TTC at DTD. Accommodate guests staying on I Drive. I don't think current garage capacity could handle significant theme park parking.

Are they still running buses to Disney Springs from your resort? And...how does the exchange of Gondola's work when u have to get off at Caribbean?

Gondolas don't go to Disney Springs so yes there are still buses.

You get off at CBR and then onto which ever line you want to go on.

Changing at CBR is very easy. There is a large station with three loading areas set up in a "T" shape. You just come off the one you were on, look for the sign, and proceed to the queue. Even when the line looks long it goes very quickly. It was a joy to ride that thing!

Thank you. So glad you don't have to walk down a long ramp, like the monorail, to get from one place to another. Can't wait to ride. I really think this will greatly improve transportation options from POP to both EP and HS. PoP is my favorite resort. The only feature I liked at other Resorts over POP was more transport options.

This is where I think the Skyliner from TTC to Magic Kingdom should run.
See red mark on photo the east side of Seven Seas Lagoon.
It could start and end on the inside of the monorail beam. Pick up and drop off in the bus areas and most of the run over land

A couple of things your start point at the TTC is actually outside of the beam. Also the start point is a bus pickup and drop off point along with parking for buses. I imagine it non-Disney hotel shuttles along with charter buses.

There is space between the monorail station and the Ferry Dock. Put the gondola station there. Run the gondolas parallel to the monorail until the monorail crosses World Dr. At that point, turn and run parallel to World Dr.

Once across the waterway connecting Seven Seas and Bay lake, turn left and have the MK station a bit west of the pond.

Remember, gondola lifts don't go around curves. Every change in direction requires either a full station or a turn station like the one at BW. The route will be a series of straight lines, ideally as few as possible.

Sorry! I did draw the line correctly.
That’s why I said inside the beam on both sides
Didn’t know I would be graded on it.

Sorry, I didn't mean my reply as a grading exercise. I just intended my reply to your input as a jumping off point for me to give my input. I have seen several messages about a gondola between TTC and the MK, but yours was one of the ones that included a proposed route with a map.

I took that as a jumping off point to do a bit deeper dive into an actual route. I looked at google maps and your proposed route and threw in my thoughts.

Again I am sorry if were offended.

It varies on the morning and when the parks open.
Thanks, but I am looking for real world data, not posted times. I know that the posted times vary. However, what Disney posts and what actually happens aren't always in sync. I am really looking for real world data to try to get some ideas about patterns to avail myself of the best transportation options during my trip next week. For example, what time did it start running today? I am really hoping the Disney transport leaves early enough to give me a shot at ROTR on an 8 am day, provided the park actually opens at 8.

For the Skyliner it is pretty much in sync. The sandwich boards at the stations are the best resource.

I wouldn’t use the Skyliner for getting to RotR.

What time do these open? I’ll be staying at Pop and want to use these to get to Hollywood Studios ASAP in the morning.
