1200 square foot house here. 1 bedroom/2 bath. One room and a bathroom downstairs, one room and a bathroom upstairs haha. DH doesn't really like our house, but I don't mind it so much. Plus, we have a great piece of property since we have 17 acres. Honestly, we will probably tear our current house one day and rebuild what we want. Every time DH gets house-envy, I tell him we can sell all the horses and stop showing and just buy a really nice house in a neighborhood instead. He shuts up pretty quickly :rotfl:

That’s a good idea! I think her thing is she wants something besides gcs because she could easily give us an amazon gc. She wants me to have something to physically open. I don’t really blame her. It’s more fun to open a present than a gift card. I just can’t think of anything
Do you have an instant pot or air fryer?

Quick question for the resident experts:

I just "checked in" for my American Airlines flight tomorrow and got Boarding Passes on my AA App.

Last time I flew, a little over a year ago and it was Southwest domestically, I had a paper boarding pass and I got a little stamp on it by the person at security after they checked my ID.

Anyone know how this works if the boarding pass is in my Apple Wallet? I just don't want to get held up tomorrow morning.
Thank you!
I was nervous using boarding passes in Apple Wallet at first, but as was mentioned it’s super easy to scan at TSA and the gate. The TSA agent told me what to do the first time cuz I was like umm..you’ll do great and never want to bother with paper again 👍🏻
Oh boy...we did something similar with our kids years ago...they are 32 and 29 now...the picture was hysterical..one of them hugging me..the other my DH...
they have gone on ToT for years now but still talk about the time we “made” them try it
I totally bribed my 10 year old daughter with cash/merchandise to ride Guardians of the Galaxy. 😂 It’s my absolute favorite ride and going on it as a family is the best. She was fine BTW 😉 no lasting effects 😂 she even dabbed for the photo

Ugh, Great Southern Bank... tried to move some money out of my account and received a message that I've made too many attempts to "schedule transactions that would exceed your payment limits" and locked my account. I was trying to move $2500 of the $3000 that was in my account :sad2: Guess now I have to call them.

Just caught up here. It’s been an emotional roller coaster of a week for me. My grandmother passed away and the funeral was yesterday. It wasn’t a surprise and we’d been waiting for her suffering to come to an end for a very long time now. I told my family I was going to cancel our weekend trip to DLR and they all insisted that I don’t do that. So, now I’m sitting at the Centurion lounge waiting on our flight. This weekend is our 23rd wedding anniversary and we are traveling with friends. I’m looking forward to the distraction.
So sorry for your loss and hope the trip is the distraction you need.
Congrats on your anniversary!

Yeah I think the max is like $1800 or some odd number. I usually do $1500 increments to stay under

Anyone else take advantage of the Wyndham status match to match to Caesers and then MLife? I matched IHG Platinum (status comes with the card) to Wyndham Diamond and then to Ceasers Diamond.
Then I matched Ceasers to MLife Gold.

Will be staying at the Borgata in AC in two weeks and will head down to Caesers to get my $100 dining amenity for being a Caesers Diamond member. Will report back on my results.

This happened to me last week. I called and just told the customer service rep that I was paying off a Disney trip which was very expensive... the rep told me how she had planned a WDW trip a few years ago and was unable to afford to go so she understands. She unlocked my account and I was good to go.
So I wouldn’t worry about the phone call. Just have a reason as to why you’re moving large sums of money out..they get it’s the holidays too so maybe tell her you’re buying lots of Christmas presents lol
I have $600 left in there and will probably move $500 out next week and leave $100 in there..

Thanks! I had tried to move some money the other week and it told me I couldn't transfer that much, but I just thought maybe it was because I had a new account or something like that. It let me move $1000 though so I thought after that I'd be good to go.

Ok cool, thanks! I will hopefully be buying a new to me car soon, so I do actually need to get my cash together lol.

The podcast for the ABD I did in October is on the boards.

Disappointingly no photos and no, Queen Elizabeth I wasn't buried "in the 1400s." Still, their takes on the adventure is interesting. Yikes, except partway the sound is off so best to listen to it without watching😜

DLP will be a separate installment.
I listened to that yesterday and thought about you!

@SouthFayetteFan - I am sorry I didn’t realize we posted the same video. I didn’t make the Dear Theodosia/ Dear Baby Yoda connect. Continue to post. You must. Please. 😊 Congratulations on your 50k likes! You totally deserve them and more.

@tink1970 - You don’t like musicals?! *GASP!* I feel so lost and alone now.

I live in Florida in a 2100 sq 3/2 and wish we had basements. That’s like getting a bonus house!
I'm so sorry about your grandmother's passing. It's just so hard when a loved one is suffering. You want them to be at peace, while at the same time cannot imagine living without them. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Just booked the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress for the 3rd leg of our Christmas vacation with 60k Hyatt points that would have cost $1700 I have originally booked the Gaylord but wanted my Marriott points back for AUS.) So we have 6 nights in Punta Cana, 2 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel and 5 nights at HRGC. So looking forward to the warm weather again! Has anyone stayed at HRGC? Are you charged for parking on a points booking? How did you like the hotel? I chose it since they have paddle boats, mini golf and lots of other activities.
Wow, that sounds like a great vacation! Can't wait to hear about it :)

Apple Wallet is the best for boarding passes!

These posts reminded me that I forgot to report that I was able to purchase Broadway tix via the Chase UR portal this summer. I would never use Chase UR points to purchase shows that can likely be found at a discount, but it is a decent option for shows that are unlikely to be discounted, like Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Hadestown, Wicked, and Disney shows. It's 1.5 cents per point, and you avoid extra seller fees. You choose the section you want, but not your individual seats. In my case, we received the best available seats in the section specified.

I did the status match from Hilton Gold to Wyndham Diamond, and subsequently, from Wyndham to Casears Diamond back in August/September.

The $100 celebration dinner credit was great for the amazing Casears buffet.

I’m curious to see if the brunch buffet at Caesers AC is on par with the Vegas property. Probably not lol.

Probably not :p

I've never had to bribe my kids to go on a ride, but I'm a huge fan of bribing kids or should we say rewarding kids. :) :):)

It could be known already, I get my statements snail mail, but for the people who enrolled in the Corporate MR earning programs, they are making changes to the enrollment fees and earnings.

Good news is the fees are being lowered. If you have a Corporate Gold card the fee will be $0 and Corporate Green card will be $55 starting March 6, 2020. If you are lucky enough to have a Corp Gold then it'll be automatically enrolled into the MR earning program.

For ever upside there's a down. Your company will have a choice on how many points you can earn, either 1 pt per $1 or 1 pt per $2. So your earn rate might be halved. :(

About the ProgramWe are changing the terms that concern the annual enrollment fee for
certain Corporate Card Members to participate in the program.

Effective March 6, 2020, the Membership Rewards annual enrollment
fee for American Express Corporate Gold Cards will be $0. If an
American Express Corporate Gold Card is enabled by your company to
participate in the Membership Rewards® program it will be automatically
enrolled in the program.

Effective March 6, 2020, the Membership Rewards annual enrollment
fee for American Express Corporate Green Cards will be reduced from
$90 to $55. If an American Express Corporate Green Card has been
enabled by your company to participate in the Membership Rewards®
program, you may choose to enroll in the Program and the annual fee will
be charged to your Card.

Effective March 6, 2020, the Membership Rewards annual enrollment
fee for Global Dollar Card - American Express ® Corporate Executive
Gold Card will be $0. If a Global Dollar Card - American Express ®
Corporate Executive Gold Card is enabled by your company to participate
in the Membership Rewards® program it will be automatically enrolled in
the program.

Effective March 6, 2020, the Membership Rewards annual enrollment
fee for Global Dollar Card - American Express® Corporate Card will be
reduced from $75 to $55. If a Global Dollar Card - American Express®
Corporate Card has been enabled by your company to participate in
the Membership Rewards® program, you may choose to enroll in the
Program and the annual fee will be charged to your Card.
Getting PointsWe are changing the terms that concern the number of points that a
Corporate Card Member earns per dollar of eligible spend (referred to in
this paragraph as the "earn rate"). If you are a Corporate Card Member,
effective March 6, 2020, your company will have the choice to determine
if you earn one Membership Reward® point per dollar or one Membership
Reward point per two dollars of eligible spend on your enrolled Card.
Initially, your company will be able to select the earn rate until March
31, 2020, which earn rate would be activated for you on May 1, 2020.
Beginning in the fall of 2020, your company will be able to select the
earn rate annually during the earn rate enrollment period in October and
November of each year, which would be activated for you on January 1 of
the following year. If your company does not make a selection during the
annual enrollment period, then the earn rate will remain unchanged. If you
are enrolled in the Membership Rewards Program you will be notified by
American Express if your company decides to change the earn rate for its
Corporate Card Program.

I don't get it.... why would anyone choose 1 point for every 2 dollars spent. What am I missing?

@calypso726 I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother passing. :grouphug: Grandparents are so special and I know I had a very hard time letting go, even when mine were ready to go. Safe travels - I hope you have a good anniversary trip.

@Haley R - Basin/Basin White at WDW sells nice shower bombs (they are really big, and I actually get 2-3 showers out of them) but of course they aren't cheap. Our local CVS, however, sells smaller ones, and they really aren't all that expensive. I get them because they really help when I'm sick and congested and can't get to an actual steam room, but they are really quite nice all of the time. I agree with the comfy PJs or comfy sweats/yoga pants or whatever you'd like to wear around the house. Parenting books also were something I enjoyed reading.
