Throw Up on the Lap Bars Please- A June 2019 TR! COMPLETED 3/1!

Throw Up on the Lap Bars Please Part 2

When I left off, we were on our way into the hub to find the last Villains After Hours magic shot.

Of course some castle shots were required on the way.

In the hub, the second to last castle show was going on and even though we weren't stopping to watch, I took the opportunity for some pictures.

We went to a photopass photographer on Main street for some pictures and asked about where to get the last magic shot.

She directed us to a photographer not far from her to the left of the castle.

First we took a regular picture.

Then a scared one.

And finally, the magic shot!

It was about 12:15 at this point and we had to decide what to do next. The last castle show was at 1 and we wanted to make sure we had a good view for it (I'm short remember) so we decided to just hang out in the hub.

Looking back on it, this probably wasn't the best use of time during an event we paid extra for but it's honestly one of my favorite memories from the trip. Since it was such a quick trip, we were go-go-go most of the time so spending some time sitting and relaxing, soaking in the atmosphere was a nice change of pace for a few minutes.

There were projections on the rocks in the water outside Tomorrowland for the event so we (I) needed pictures of them.

Since ice cream and popcorn is included with the after hours events, we got some ice cream, popcorn and water.

We sat by the Partners statue to enjoy our treats because really how can you beat the view?

One direction you have Walt and Mickey looking down Main street.

The other? A gorgeous castle.

I wish that was my view now.

When the castle show wasn't happening, there was a DJ on the stage.

It gave Magic Kingdom quite the club atmosphere.

giphy.gif

The high-energy atmosphere was fun and enjoyable but I'm not 100% sure how it fit into the villains theme.

Also, I'm not gonna lie- I was kinda shocked by some of the songs they were playing in a park that will only sell you alcohol if you're at a sit down restaurant. Then again, they aren't worse than the Country Bear lyrics lol.

Sitting there made for some really interesting people watching.

After some pictures and listening to Drake sing God's Plan (video censored as it features my terrible singing voice), it was time for the stage show.

Throw Up on the Lap Bars Please Part 3

The stage show was interesting. I wouldn't say it was bad because we did enjoy watching it but it seemed to be missing something. There were a lot more fireworks in it than I expected which was nice and I liked the projections on the castle. The plot of the show seemed to be missing something. The concept was that Hades thought he was to be fulfilling a prophecy but then so did all the other villains. I feel like the idea itself wasn't terrible but that it couldn't be executed in the length of the stage show so they just went with a bunch of dancing.

giphy.gif
giphy.gif

Personally, I would've rather had a shorter stage show with a simple plot and then had the villains come down for meet and greets after like they used to do at MNSSHP.

As the stage show ended, it was time for Maleficent to make her final run through the park and this time she was breathing plenty of fire!

And her minions were just as creepy as ever.

giphy.gif

I'm not gonna lie, it was really cool to be walking out of the park with a dragon rolling down Main street. It was also super distracting though lol.

Much of the conversation was "Ooh she's coming- take my picture!"

As we got to the train station, I spied something that they hadn't announced- the villains were saying goodbye!

Of course, being villains, they were doing it while insulting us and making fun of us for standing there still watching them as they made fun of us! It was hysterical and a great way to end the night!

Even though the event officially ended at 1, because of everything happening on the way out, we got to the bus stop to CBR at 1:51 am! Luckily a bus was there in just a few minutes and I'm pretty sure we both fell asleep very quickly when we got to the room!

Sorry for such a long update but we finally made it to the end of day 2!

Next up: What time do we make it to DHS the next morning?

As long as you are having fun, it's the best use of your time!

I thought this last 4th of July too, I expected more Disney music and less club music

Of course, being villains, they were doing it while insulting us and making fun of us for standing there still watching them as they made fun of us!
Fun!!

And finally, the magic shot!

giphy.gif

At first it just looks like a weird swirling vortex around you

I didn't see those, but I like them!

It was like a little club :rotfl:

I'll say it :lmao:

Yes & meet and greets would've made it a lot better.

Thanks for all the info on the party. I'm usually too cheap to pay extra for an event but this one looks like it might have been worth the cost .

Looking back on it, this probably wasn't the best use of time during an event we paid extra for but it's honestly one of my favorite memories from the trip.
That’s really all that matters. Some of my favorite trip memories were of us maximizing our time, but just enjoying where we were.

We sat by the Partners statue to enjoy our treats because really how can you beat the view?
Its one of my favorite spots in all the world ❤️

Of course, being villains, they were doing it while insulting us and making fun of us for standing there still watching them as they made fun of us! It was hysterical and a great way to end the night!
Fun!

As long as you are having fun, it's the best use of your time!

You're right! This is something I've had to drill into my brain lol. I'm constantly thinking of what we "should" be using our time to do instead of just doing what we want!

I thought this last 4th of July too, I expected more Disney music and less club music

Very odd. I don't need all Disney music but the choices were just so random.

At first it just looks like a weird swirling vortex around you

:rotfl: :rotfl: It does lol. It was an odd choice of a magic shot but weird choices seem to be a good theme for the event lol

I'll say it :lmao:

:rotfl::rotfl:I wonder if they'll change it at all for the next round of events or if they're just gonna roll with this version.

Yes & meet and greets would've made it a lot better.

I just don't get the decision not to have them meet. Obviously they had them all available if they were at the train station so what the heck!

Lol it was full of weird choices!

:rotfl::rotfl:I wonder if they'll change it at all for the next round of events or if they're just gonna roll with this version.

I hope they do, but I think they may continue rolling with whatever that was :rotfl:

I just don't get the decision not to have them meet. Obviously they had them all available if they were at the train station so what the heck!

I don't get it either, especially because this would've made most people who disliked the event change their minds and say it was worth it.

Exactly! Every time they have villains out, the lines are massive so you'd think they'd capitalize on this!

I'm Trash

Yes I just updated yesterday but since it's taken me 5 months to get through 2 days, I estimate my Fall TR will take 17 years to get through so we need to get this show on the road :rotfl:

So since we got to our room after 2 am the night before, logic would tell you that we slept it and had a nice, easy day today right?

.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Lol nope!

Here we are approaching the tapstyles at DHS at the lovely hour of 8:05 am for a 9 am park opening!

My one note for the day is that we took a Lyft to DHS this morning. Glad I recorded the important highlights for you all.

Although, I would not have remembered at all that that's how we got to the park so there's that.

For rope drop at Hollywood Studios, they let you into the park before opening and then hold you by where you would turn to go down Sunset Blvd to Tower of Terror.

If you have a fantastic memory and you followed my PTR, you'll know that I struggled to get a Slinky fastpass for this short trip. I initially didn't get one at all and later was able to pick one up but not until 6:30 pm. I was hoping to modify it to earlier but we were joining the rope drop crowd just in case.

At around 8:45, the CMs began walking us over to Toy Story land. Rope drop can be chaos and kinda scary (I'm looking at you lady who full on pushed me at FOP rope drop this October) because people seem to lose any humanity and common sense they may have started with. Having the CMs walk across the path and lead you back helps somewhat but not completely.

This was our view at 8:50 am.

The key to rope dropping Slinky is to stay as far to the right behind the CMs as possible and then not get trampled as the crowd to the left all have to merge over.

I'm all about getting on the ride quickly but I'm also not about mosh pitting to get there so a decent number of people trampled in front of us.

I had never noticed that it was a number 2 pencil holding the lights up before.

They walked us through the fastpass queue and I risked losing my toes to snap a few quick pictures.

Slinky doing some test runs before they let people on!

Thankfully my time-stamped photos are here to carry us through the day since I took no notes.

Quick selfie before boarding and all my makeup melts off!

We were in our Slinky car ready to takeoff at 8:57 am with another selfie for good measure.

I like Slinky as it's a slightly more thrilling family-friendly coaster and I like the views of DHS as you ride.

giphy.gif

And I like Wheezy's serenade at the end.

Our ride photo was nothing to write home about.

Everyone looks slightly thrilled, slightly confused and I'm just over in my own world lol.

We got off Slinky and made it to the Swirling Saucers at exactly 9 am!

Clearly the most popular destination this morning. :rotfl:

We were on the ride in just a couple minutes.

Oooh the clawwww!

You'll be surprised to know I subjected Mike to more selfies and after I took more than 2 (because the lighting was all weird), I got some lovely faces in return.

giphy.gif

The funniest part was after the ride, a lady came up to me saying she was laughing at me trying to take selfies and watching Mike make annoying faces the more I took because her husband does the same. :rotfl:

At the time, it was new that Bo Peep was meeting with Woody so that's where we headed next.

The line was pretty long but it pretty much always is for them so we decided to mobile order breakfast from Woody's Lunchbox and wait it out. I placed the mobile order at 9:10 and was back in line with our food at 9:15!

We ordered the Breakfast bowl (hearty portion of potato barrels smothered in Smoked Brisket Country Gravy, Scrambled Eggs and a sprinkling of Green Onions 8.79) to share and added cheese sauce for an extra $1.00.

And also used the "whatever it's vacation" attitude to get the Grown-Up Lemonade (Three Olives Cherry Vodka, odwalla® All-Natural Lemonade and Black Cherry Purée) to "share" aka I drank it all and Mike had a sip lol. On my mobile order receipt it was $10.25 but I see it now on the Disney website for $12! That's a steep increase in 5 months!

This was delicious as always and I highly recommend it!

Having breakfast in line was great to pass the time and at 9:30, it was our turn to meet.

Woody turned on the charm while Bo Peep was distracted!

We dressed as Woody and Bo Peep for MNSSHP last year so I posted this picture to social media of "who wore it better" lol.

After that meet, we headed over to meet Jessie now that she's been kicked off to the side by herself. I'm not sure why they couldn't have her meet with Buzz? I think it'd be much more fun. Also, this is no longer her meet location since Galaxy's Edge opened so now she's in the direct sun by Alien Swirling Saucers.

Not sure if I mentioned this here already but we brought our cutting boards that were the AP gift from Food and Wine last year to get autographed.

We were done meeting Jessie at 9:48 and decided to head out of TSL to another meet and greet that I was very excited for!

On the way out, I saw a Forky statue so I needed a picture was it!

This was just about a week before Toy Story 4 was released so I didn't even know how much I loved Forky yet!

We stopped for a photpass picture with the claw.

And since I didn't get a good Slinky picture with the rope drop madness that morning, I got one now.

To no one's surprise, we stopped for a photopass picture with Woody on the way out.

Next up: more meet and greets! Any guesses where we were headed?

All caught up!

what a great morning to TSL! Honestly rope drop crowds scary me! but looks like you had a good amount of success and were able to hit up most of the rides and meets!

ahhh the forky love! He is the best! The woody bo peep line can get a bit long! I know it’s a good meet but wow!!I think we waiting 30 minutes last trip! Which seems like not a lot but it was during Extra magic hours, a paid event!

I swear I commented on your VAH event... but maybe I didn't?! Anyway, it looks like you had fun despite the lack of meet and greets with the villains. I'm considering going to VAH in May (if I can get my husband to go along with my "we each get a night on our own" plan). I appreciate the review!

Rope drop in Hollywood Studios was crazy before Slinky Dog - now it looks nuts! You did a great job of making the most of your morning, though!

I think you and Mike look much better as Woody and Bo-Peep than your "real life" counterparts do. Perhaps it's because Bo-Peep's current costume doesn't really make her look like Bo-Peep? Who knows, but the two of you looked great!

Sometimes, slowing down and just enjoying the moment is one of the best parts of a WDW trip. Glad you were able to take a few minutes at the VAH party and do exactly that.
The villains waving goodbye at the end was great!

Rope drop is not for the faint of heart! Man, it can be scary. But it looks like you guys survived and got on Slinky pretty quickly.
I don't get why they don't have Jessie meeting with Buzz, either. :confused3

Then a scared one.

Cute! I love the magic shot!

I wish that was my view now.

Me too!

Nothing says, "Villainous Treachery," like dancing :P

Personally, I would've rather had a shorter stage show with a simple plot and then had the villains come down for meet and greets after like they used to do at MNSSHP.

I loved when they did that ::yes::

As the stage show ended, it was time for Maleficent to make her final run through the park and this time she was breathing plenty of fire!

That is pretty cool and makes for some awesome pics!

How fun!

Oh my gosh! I didn't realize it went so late!

Sometimes you just have to plow through when you've got the time to do it :thumbsup2

Sweet :-)

You guys, of course ::yes::

On the way out, I saw a Forky statue so I needed a picture was it!

Of course some castle shots were required on the way.
Of course. It must be done.
And finally, the magic shot!
Cool! Didn't know about that one.
(I'm short remember)
Barely. My memory's short, ya know.
There were projections on the rocks in the water outside Tomorrowland
Cool. :)
Since ice cream and popcorn is included
Give me all the ice cream!!!!!
I wish that was my view now.
You and me both.
Then again, they aren't worse than the Country Bear lyrics lol.
:rolleyes1
Personally, I would've rather had a shorter stage show
Right. Because you're short. Got it!
As the stage show ended, it was time for Maleficent to make her final run through the park and this time she was breathing plenty of fire!
You got some great photos! (and video)
I'm not gonna lie, it was really cool to be walking out of the park with a dragon rolling down Main street. It was also super distracting though lol.
 I bet!
One doesn't normally see that while walking down the sidewalk.
As we got to the train station, I spied something that they hadn't announced- the villains were saying goodbye!
Love that!
Of course, being villains, they were doing it while insulting us and making fun of us for standing there still watching them as they made fun of us! It was hysterical and a great way to end the night!

Do you remember anything they might have said?

Quit trying to be sleepless like me!
My one note for the day is that we took a Lyft to DHS this morning. Glad I recorded the important highlights for you all.
::yes:: A good TR writer has all the details.
Or none of them. One of those things.
Rope drop can be chaos and kinda scary (I'm looking at you lady who full on pushed me at FOP rope drop this October)
Yeah... SWGE.... :sad2:

Dude's a playa'.

what a great morning to TSL! Honestly ripe drop crowds scary me! but looks like you had a good amount of success and were able to hit up most of the rides and meets!

People really can get wild at rope drop! I get it- we all wanna get the most out of our Disney time but some people are way too much! It does let you get a lot done in the morning though which is why we still deal with the craziness.

ahhh the forky love! He is the best! The woody bo peep line can get a bit long! I know it’s a good meet but wow!!I think we waiting 30 minutes last trip! Which seems like not a lot but it was during Extra magic hours, a paid event!

 Forky! Have you watched the shorts on Disney+? So cute!

Their line is always so long but 30 minutes during a paid event would annoy me!

It took me a lot of posts to go through the VAH event so you probably did comment on some of them :rotfl:

I think it would be a fun event for a night on your own! You'll be able to get in ride time on the rides your little one is too small for and a fun atmosphere!

I think you and Mike look much better as Woody and Bo-Peep than your "real life" counterparts do. Perhaps it's because Bo-Peep's current costume doesn't really make her look like Bo-Peep? Who knows, but the two of you looked great!

Thank you :love: I think so too but I'm a little biased lol
