Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Page 1569

Since no one has answered, I will say this: my friend returned from a BC stay Nov 2nd. They were in a room on the 4th floor, directly over the port cochere. The first 2 nights, they heard loud hammering & banging going on above them throughout the night. Trips to the front desk got promises to make sure it stopped, but after 2 nights of very little sleep, they received some $ credits & no noise for several hours at night. Apparently the workers were told there was to be no one in the room under where they were working. But clearly there was some breakdown in room assignments & communication. From her experience, it takes several days for each room to be done. And at least as of Nov 2, work was still ongoing & going on around the clock.

Thanks for that info. I haven't heard much about what has been going on there.

::yes::

Guess who's back.... Soooooooooooo after switching so much I went back to YC water view and it is paid in full and all done with lol. We ended up switching our GF theme park view to a Boardwalk Water view. We wanted to stay at GF but we figured if we could stay in one general area it would be better. So now I get to stay where I want and my sister gets the Boardwalk like she has always wanted. Now just to wait 3 weeks. Going to two after hour events and a Christmas party. I can't wait.

:welcome: back!

I'll adjust the list.

It’s been several years, but we’ll be back January 10-14, 2020 - at Beach Club (we’ve only done YC previously). I’m running my first marathon that weekend!

My only concern is not getting a full balcony, but will put in a request and cross my fingers!!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the list.

Hi all! Just back from our four nights at Yacht Club and wanted to share that our trip was just wonderful, as was our room and its view! We had room 4057 which from the outside is the room at the top with the circle window on the left. At first I thought the round cutout would deter from the view, but my kids thought it was just perfect for the theming and I grew to love it too. We woke up to beautiful sunrises and people watched when we were in the room. Super helpful too to watch the boat pull up from HS... we could book it down the secret entrance steps right down the hall and hop right on! Loved everything about the resort, still a favorite!

Wow!!!

Gorgeous pictures!

Thank you for these and for the review of your room.

If you haven't added this post to the YC Room Views thread, I'll get to that (eventually...)

:thumbsup2

Caught up on the thread, but I won't have time to make updates until later today.

Have a great day, everyone!

Going to BC in mid Dec and will be VERY happy if Wi-fi is improved. While staying in the room I definitely use Wi-fi for general use (search engines, menus, etc....) but use cell service for email, DME, etc...) Usually I take an ipad pro to WDW with movies downloaded to have easily available content while I'm there (at Christmas thats going to be Christmas songs, movies, etc....) . There are definitely times where Wifi is better (weekeday afternoon or middle of the night) but prime time they definitely need to work on the the Wi-fi.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

Please let us know what your experience is with the Wi-fi after (or during) your trip.

Just got back from a wonderful stay at the Yacht Club... it was our first time there and we loved it. The room was fantastic, the cast members were awesome, we loved our water view, Stormalong Bay was perfect for afternoon breaks, and you can’t beat the location and access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We were in room 4091 (water view), which adjoins to 4089. It had a fold down couch and a tub/shower combo.

Thank you for the review of your trip and the awesome pictures!

Hi Dee,
Would you please add us to the BOG list for 10/17-10/24/2020? I booked our 2 BR Villa yesterday right at 11 months out. It will be myself, DH, adult DS and his girlfriend again.
We are 19 days from our December trip and maximizing our AP's this year by booking 2 big trips within 12 months.
So the best of both worlds.!! Holiday decorations and events in Dec and F & W in October.
Thank You

Will do!

Sounds like a fantastic trip.

:woohoo:

I'm going to post this on the cake page too but here's my question/idea - I was thinking of booking one of the new pool cabanas at the beach club for a day for our stay in April. Do you think if I ordered a cake they would deliver it to the cabana? Any idea how to order it? It says they will deliver food to the cabana so I wonder if I ordered a cake they would deliver it? I'm taking my parents for their 50th anniversary and thought this could be a good surprise. Thanks!

Great question! Please let us know when you find out the answer.

:cake:

I leave for Disney Tuesday morning for my stay at the Yacht Club, and I was wondering how the crowds have been at the hotel and parks this week? Next Tuesday feels forever!

Sorry if this has been answered historically on this thread but we are arriving for our first ever Beach Club stay from the UK on 2nd Jan for my 50th birthday and I’m getting a bit confused with room types, we have a GV room booked for 2 weeks but upon looking at room walkthroughs on YouTube there seems to be 2 different standard room sizes, one (which I assumed was the normal room) had 2 x queen beds and a sofa (new large TV set on the armoire), the other room had 2 x queen beds but no sofa (no adjoining room door either) and the older style smaller flatscreen tv in the wood surround higher armoire, this room looked considerably smaller. Both videos were from the same time approx 1 year ago.
Many thanks in advance for any info.

One of the features ("quirks") of the Beach Club are the different-sized rooms. Some have 2 Queen Beds and a daybed, some have only 2 Queen beds and a few have a King bed along with other assorted furniture pieces.

Some rooms are connecting, some are not.

Make sure that you specify which features of a room are important for your stay. Do you hope to have a sofa/daybed in your room? Request "Daybed, please"..

Also be advised that only about 50% of rooms at the Beach Club have full balconies. If that is important to you, you should request that.

For more info on rooms with daybeds, balconies and room pictures, check out Page 1 of this thread, particularly Post 8 Beach Club rooms and Post 13 Frequently Asked Questions.

Thank you so much, can’t wait to get there!🤗🤗🤗

BTW- since you have such a long stay, if you are assigned to a room that does not have the features you want at check-in- whatever those are, daybed, full balcony, location, etc. you may want to go to the front desk in person to inquire if or when a room that better suits your preferences will be available.

Good Morning! I have my choice of Beach or Yacht club for a conference in March. Would love some of your expert opinions on which to choose. The location to Epcot or HS doesn’t matter much to me but the size of the room and if it’s a newly updated does. Any help would be so appr. Any room numbers would also be helpful for a decent view as I’m sure the conference just gives standard.

The resort rooms are the same size at each resort. The Yacht Club has been recently updated so if that is important than you want to choose that one. :) When booking a standard view room I usually request a nice view. :)

It is pretty much up to preference. I have heard that the Yacht Club has been recently updated. Obviously Beach Club is closer to Epcot. They both are good size rooms.

For adults, I personally believe the YC is a better option. The rooms have wood laminate floors, underbed storage space for luggage (bed height is higher than usual), more closet space, and a barn door which separates the bathroom area from the rest of the room. Also, unlike the BC, about 99% of the YC rooms have full balconies, if you like to sit out; about 50% of the BC rooms have full balconies.

The BC is about 5 minutes closer by foot to EPCOT, but the boat dock for the FriendShip boats (which travel to EP, Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, and Hollywood Studios) is right out the back door of the YC.

Thanks Everyone! Looks like I may go with the Yacht club since the rooms seem to be newly renovated. Any suggestions for a standard view room number with a decent view?

There must be. We saw lots of scooters in the halls when we were at YC in September.

The catch with the hallways is that the scooters could block the hall for mousekeeping carts and passersby, depending on where your room is, so maybe make sure they’re in use or in your room during prime hallway rush hours. :-)

I thought so too, and we mainly saw them when returning later at night or early in the morning. It would be pretty inconsiderate to leave them throughout the day unless it couldn't be helped as a previous poster stated with their emergency.

Wow, you mentioned two things which actually are hotly contested issues in other threads.

Some people believe that you are not supposed to leave anything in the hallway, including charging scooters. They feel, among other things, that this could be a big problem if there is a fire and people are trying to navigate the hallway to escape. They also feel that even on a regular day, it could make it hard for people to navigate the hallway with a stroller or their own scooter.

Some people believe that you are not supposed to leave anything on the balcony or put any decorations out there .

These are not issues which are super important to me, and the people in this thread are super nice, but be aware that if you say these things elsewhere, people might jump down your throat.

Yea, I know, but we've seen people decorate doors and balconies, and I think if you're not tearing anything up or causing damage to the resort property, what's the harm? I was thinking more like balloons and some small streamers or decorations you can get from the dollar store and then toss, or something decorative that she could keep.

The Gingerbread Carousel at BC went up today and it’s Peter Pan themed!!! When I left for Animal Kingdom this morning for EMH they just had the platform up!! So glad I got to see this after all, it makes the wait for Tragical Express less sad!

How amazing! I wish I could see it in person!

Considering a YC stay in August of 2020 and I have some questions I could not find with the search bar. I have read that walking to HS from YC is the best option for Rope Drops. From YC is taking a Minnie Van the best option for a rope drop at AK? Can we use the IG entrance to EPCOT if we have pre-park-opening breakfast reservations, or do you have to use the main Epcot entrance? If we have pre-park-opening breakfast at MK are Minnie-Vans the best option from YC? Thank you in advance.
