Thought I share a minor success--I've been collecting World of Hyatt points for a couple of aspirational stays. My DM (bless her!) had several through a sign up and use and was willing to share to I submitted the transfer form via email Saturday and this am received notification that her points were successfully transferred so I was able to book 1 night at the Nimb in Copenhagen before our cruise in August. I was able to book a $912 room for 40K WoH points (which have a 1:1 transfer from URs) which is pricey, but I'd never spend that much on a hotel room OOP. I am super excited to try out this hotel-it's next to Tivoli which is the park that inspired Walt Disney so a tie in as well. My Marriott reservations for the next 9 months have gone from 6-->3 as my Hyatt have increased from 0-->4. I'll be sure to post my impressions on the hotel thread when I return.

when we did our HAL cruise, we did anytime dining, and never waited more than 5 minutes or so,of course we were there when the dining room opened and put in our names. It was always just us and a few other parties at that time. Our main goal was to eat a lavish early dinner so we could hit the buffet for 'dessert' before bed later on lol...(I've never eaten so much!)
Lol that sounds like a good plan to me! Now we’ve kind of changed what we’re interested in. The two choices will definitely be between Norway and the British isles and it’ll be around a week long. Norway would most likely be a cruise. We’re not sure about the British isles yet, if we’d rather tour ourselves or do a cruise

I need to transfer some Marriott points from P2’s account to mine so that I can use them for 2 rooms I booked for our first night in Paris next June. His Marriott account is over a year old and mine is now well over 60 days old (what I had to wait on to make the transfer). Does he have to call to make the transfer or can it be done online?

I had to call to transfer a few months ago

I never went to it as downtown Disney so I’m not sure what I’m missing

Some of the attractions you are missing are Pleasure Island, the Comedy Warehouse, The Adventurers Club and a Kungaloosh (spelling may be wrong) another dance club whose name I can't remember that the younger people used to like, Gloria Estafen's restaurant - which I liked for the takeout window and getting the empanadas for $1 each, Pollo Campero - which did not compare well to the one I've gone to in the Laurel area - and that one has dumbed down it's menu also.

I used to be one of the people who lined up for as many shows at Comedy Warehouse as I could get into each evening. Plus one show at Adventurers Club. Loved all the improv. There are others that have come and gone, but CW was my favorite. PI attracted a lot of locals and the admission was pretty low so it had a younger crowd. There was music in the street at night, jello shots, windows to walk up and get a beer or cocktail at and could be a pretty fun place, but also a place where reality could happen pretty quickly.

all this cruise talk has me looking at cruises.....aaahhhh! If only I could convince DH to go on that 26 day cruise for such a good price!!! (It'll NEVER happen) Maybe I could convince him on the 16 day cruise..... (Probably not but I can try)

I'm trying to calculate the HH points I'll get when dhs employees stay in December. I sent off my Aspire cc number and HH number to the hotel yesterday (so I know the exact cost of the room nights, unless there are last minute additions). Can anyone help me @calypso726 ?

Say the stay is going to be a total cost of $7,400.00 and I gave my Aspire card (so diamond status). Also I signed up for a HH promo where I will get double points for the stay. How many points will this weekend net me? I also get a bonus of the number of dollars spent as the "conference planner".

I’m working on it. Just completed 10 debit transactions assuming they count them all. Their website is terrible and customer service is awful as well. Can’t wait to get rid of the account. Haven’t reviewed the fine print to see when I can close it.
I'm with you on the website, haven't needed customer service. It seems a little murky how long you need to keep the account open. Based on DoC comments, I'm keeping it open a year to be safe. At least I only need to keep $100 in it

Getting ready to transfer over to the Grand Floridian. Traveling alone and having a car makes it quite easy to resort hop. I actually canceled my last night accidentally and never got it back, so looks like I'm leaving tomorrow, unless I can find another room before then. Either way I'm fine.

This morning I was quite hungry so I got up and went over to Ale and Compass at the Yacht Club. I hadn't been there since it was called Captain's Grill. It was delightfully quiet and subdued. The buffet is a bargain at $23 with a 10% discount for DVC or AP. You get the buffet items and an entrée made to order, or you can just order an entrée. It's not a huge eggy meaty buffet, just some pastries, oatmeal, smoked salmon, etc with a few other things. Your entrée is regular sized and more than enough by itself, but I went for the whole thing this morning. With a $5 tip and my 10% discount it was $26 plus change, and then I used a gift card which I purchased at a discount, so under $25. I couldn't eat all my food on my plate so they offered me a container, which I didn't need this time - didn't want to cart it to GF and risk it being too warm. This price includes coffee, and juice - I had V-8 - my morning veggie, lol. No characters.
@disfanforlife - since you are arriving and I am leaving the same day, I didn't think our paths would actually cross. I'm finished with Epcot, but may go to MK later, but maybe not as they have early closing for a party at 6pm. Maybe I'll go enjoy some Grand Flo ambiance - the Enchanted Rose is adorable - I wandered through there earlier this trip. Anyway, have a wonderful time! I certainly can't complain - even my last room tried to accommodate by leaving a pet (on my curtain) in there for me to enjoy!

Another note - since I got a dining plan for the first nights when my friend was with me, I've still had my 'cup' to use - I've carried that mug everywhere and have enjoyed coffee, tea, iced tea, lemonade and root beer. I've even filled it in the DVC lounge, but you have to fill the paper cup first and pour it in, I asked first to make sure I wasn't going to break any Disney rules. It's nice because it has a handle and a top you can secure closed. It's good for a full two weeks and I'm just a couple days short of that by the time I leave.

Just confirming what @palhockeymomof2 said - he will need to call and ask them to do the transfer. I wrote my P2 a little script with his marriott account info and my account number so he could call and do the transfer. I had him transfer the full 100k max for the year because I'm the one with status, so it makes sense to book under my account as much as possible. We do have a stay under his account (using his non-transferable points because of the 100k max), so I had him put me on the reservation as well, and I will have them switch the rewards number when I check in ahead of him (so we get plat benefits and so I get the elite nights for the stay).

Have to call. :(
Online transfer just too easy, hardly any opportunity to Bonvoy!! you that way :p

Oh, and I want to share my wonderful artistic tendencies!

Wandering through Animal Kingdom, I decided to ride the train to Conservation Station. Got there, petted a cow and walked inside after a 'thorough hand washing' as recommended by Disney. Chatting to the CM's and they pointed out the Animation Experience. I'd done this in DHS years ago so eventually got in line with 50 other people to draw my character:
452143

This is my attempt at drawing Bruce. Sorry about the tilted pic, but that was my attempt to cut off my artist's signature, I guess. You can get a fast pass for this, but there was plenty of room for us standby folk. I made no fast passes at all this trip, and I still rode a nice selection of attractions, nothing 'big' like Mine Train or Star Wars stuff, but I could care less. I did get to do the Safari back to back a few times, Buzz Lightyear a few times, Toy Story, etc. I used early entry to get stuff done, but I enjoyed this as a no pressure trip. I like it that way, but I don't suggest this attitude if you MUST do Pandora, DHS new attractions, etc. It doesn't work for that kind of trip. I was out of my room most mornings by 5:30am to go over to Beach Club for coffee - opens at 6am while the Boardwalk Bakery and the Belleview Lounge don't open until 6:30am.

Ewww, my first $125 SPG Biz fee posted on Sunday. Now to debate...
ugh... that's a tough choice. We kept all of DH's 4 cards this year, but we were able to make good use of the 5 certificates we received. He got an extra one when he upgraded his Marriott card.

I'm not sure if we'll keep the SPG Biz, not for the $125. We don't even get good offers on that card.
