Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi everyone!

We will be back home at the BC in 27 short days and I can't wait! This will be my first visit during the Christmas season.
I do have a couple of questions not directly related to the beach club but was hoping someone here can help me.

The first is my 3 year old grandson is coming with us and I want to get him a Woody talking action figure. Does anyone know if the ones at the parks are only the new ones with Bonnie on the bottom of his boot? I was hoping for one that has Andy on the boot.
and
we have his magic band for him but does he have to put his finger on the pad when entering the parks? It is something we think he may or may not be comfortable doing. How is that handled?

I can't wait to be home again.

I have heard that some adults use their finger for the young child's magic band. The problem is, that particular adult would need to be with the child whenever the child enters a park. If the adults in the group plan to switch off for who takes the child into a park, this won't work. If one particular adult will always be with the child when the child enters a park, it should work. I have never personally tried it.

Thank you for your reply. That's what we were thinking exactly; that if his mom uses her finger we won't be able to take him in ourselves while they go out to eat. I'm just hoping he doesn't mind getting his finger scanned. He can be so extremely particular these days.😖

Maybe he can be told that touching Mickey with his finger is the magic or secret trick that lets him inside the park...something like tapping Mickey to say "I'm here!"

Does he like to press elevator buttons? If so, maybe you can turn it into a fun thing like that. He hast to “press the button “so that everybody can go into the park.

As far as I know, children do not have to use the touch pad. It is a policy that has been in place since the fingerprint scan was introduced.

I checked the Disney website and here was the answer from the Mom's panel:

We are passholders and our child is turning 3, so he will need to get a pass now, I’m wondering how the band works for minors? Because an adult uses their fingerprint with their band, does a child use their own finger? Our child goes with us OR his g-ma.”Hi, Melissa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for stopping by with your question. Becoming a member of the Annual Passholder family is always a fantastic idea, but it is super magical for little ones. Think of all of the pixie-dusted moments he will have this coming year, especially when visiting with his grandmother! I am sure she will have just as much fun as he will, watching him explore the parks and hanging out with Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Since you will have access to all of the Disney PhotoPass pictures, which are included in the membership for Annual Passholders, you will get to tag along on their adventures and see what fun the find.

Children are welcome to scan their finger along with their MagicBand or Disney Theme Park Ticket to enter the theme parks. If you prefer, you can ask a nearby Guest Services Cast Member to instead take his picture and link it to his profile. This may actually be a better option for you since your son will be visiting with his grandmother without you at times. Whenever you go the theme parks for the first time after you purchase his Annual Pass, you will notice the Guest Services Cast Members all around the Mickey touchpoints. Just let the Cast Member at your Mickey touchpoint know that you would like to link his picture instead of a fingerprint. Those Guest Services Cast Members will have it done faster than you can say, "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" Each time he uses his MagicBand after that point, the Cast Members will be able to easily and quickly scan his MagicBand to pull up that picture.

Thanks again for stopping by with your question and please let us know if you have any others!

Thanks everyone for some great suggestions. We are just hoping he is so excited to see Mickey and friends that he will use his finger willingly :goodvibes

Sorry if this was answered recently but I’ve been so busy I lost track of this thread! Do they still offer individual toiletries at BC? I made what I thought was my only Target run after work tonight for this coming weekend but they were out of my favorite mouthwash in the travel size. I’m checking in Friday standard/non CL and would rather not have to run out again before I fly down.

Just checked out last week and had individual toiletries including body lotion

We booked a Bounceback for the yacht club this upcoming April. I keep going back and forth on whether I should move over to the beach club side. We stayed at the bc last week and were happy. I know the pros of the yacht are all full balconies and 1st stop on the bus. I am just worried it will be too dark on that side of the resort. I did not like AKL for that very reason it felt dark. Do you find the rooms at the yc side to be dark. I do like the idea of no carpet. We have a 2 year old as well.

Due to the YC renovation, they are the cleanest and brightest rooms of all the Epcot resorts. Nothing like no carpeting to make a room seem cleaner and bigger. They have lights all over the room. You won't be disappointed.

Different strokes for different folks, but I don't consider the YC rooms dark at all. Pretty opposite in fact. Nice and bright/white/clean.

When ours were at that age, balconies were pretty important to us if we had a choice, just for morning coffee, a place to be during naps, etc.

We have also found we prefer the YC side of SAB with our kids, specifically the sandy pool, so that factors into our enjoyment of YC as well.

Solid points
