I don't know it doesn't stop people from churning their business cards once they get under 5/24. None of the banks want churners and they are cracking down on bonuses. I would get it if they limited the number of chase cards you could get in 2 years, but why should they care how many Amex, Citi or store cards I have. I only have 3 chase cards, I'm at 5/24, and I've never churned.
Two of the three Chase cards I have are over 10 years old and have put 10's of thousands of spend on them. I've taken 23 Disney cruises and at least 10 trips to Disney World all on my Disney Visa. I'm sure there's a lot of people with excellent credit that get denied Chase cards and have no idea why. I haven't put a dime on my Chase cards since they denied me the Hyatt card in April. Their rule may cut back on churners, but it also eliminates non-churners from getting their cards. I don't see how this is profitable for them. I used Amex to pay for my last cruise and my upcoming cruise.
Because you’re higher risk if you’re applying for more cards and have more credit extended to you (collective you, not you personally). Lots, and lots, of people have huge credit card debt. Tens of thousands per person. Chase knows about the 5 cards you got in the past 24 months, and if you are maxing them out, yet still making payments so you have a good enough credit score, you’re a risk. (Yes, utilization impacts your score but I know people with credit scores in the 700s who carry a lot of debt).

So yes I always bring bandaids and pepto and steroid cream and such. We haven’t needed them every time, but often enough. I have gone carryon for a weekend and I pack less than I used to. I pretty much took the max allowed when we went to China for 17 days. That was a packing list like no other. Lol.

I bring all those things and more (in my carryon). I do like to be prepared in case someone isn't feeling well. Even had the benadryl and cortisone cream on the ship last summer and DH ended up needing them after a bad reaction to the Blue Lagoon. The nurse on the ship offered him some, but he'd already used what we had, and the next step up was steroids and he didn't need them. For China, I totally get it. I have friends who go all over the world with minimal luggage, and they say you can buy everything you might need, except in China (they learned that one the hard way).

So my Gold SUB posted already. I also figures out how to book the flight I need via BA. Two questions-

1. BA says only 7 seats left. We need 4. Would you risk waiting for a transfer bonus? I know one just ended.
2. Can I see available seats before purchase? Doesn’t work if those 7 seats are notnear each other YKWIM?

I know there are other places on the DIS that I could ask this but I don't venture far from this thread so hoping someone here can answer...

We are going to wdw in Dec. My mom & stepdad are going too. They only want 2-day tix and a party ticket. They have booked WBC for their stay. I used discounted GC's to buy their 2-day tix direct from Disney. I only received a conf# and 'will call' option. No number to put into MDE. I added them to MDE so I can manage their plans but they don't show as having tickets since there is no number to put in. They are now considering an onsite stay. If they do decide to be onsite and I can book their FP's before 30 days, how do I get their tickets to show up in MDE?

They've always bought their tickets from UCT, who emails a ticket number....I don't understand why Disney doesn't do this...

Sorry I’ve been MIA guys. Dealing with some crazy Sinus issues combined with a very busy 2 weeks at work ahead of our Universal Trip on Saturday Coming up. Finally Feeling a little better today vs Thurs/Fri/Sat.

I tried to skim all the comments to get caught up just now. I see we were quite busy talking SW today. For what it’s worth on my 100+ SW flights over the past decade I’ve only once experienced any issue whatsoever with the boarding process and that was due to a tight connection related to a weather delay so we were last ones to board the plane. (And the issue was quickly remedied).

Glad you are feeling a little better!

I agree. I'm kind of shocked by the SW comments. We've never, ever had any trouble boarding with family boarding - dh & I and all the kids. I didn't realize others thought we shouldn't be boarding together. Anyways, we don't/haven't abused the policy since younger ds was 6 until this last Aug, like I posted, where our flight was cancelled and we went from having early B boarding to very end of C boarding. And then dh and I boarded with the boys in family boarding with the GA blessing. My teens stayed behind to board separately. I didn't mind if they sat alone but no way do I think an 8yo and 10yo should sit with strangers on an almost 4hr flight.

And I can promise you, that you do not want to sit with my boys on a 4hr flight lol. They are nice and polite young boys but still needy and you will spend the entire flight getting snacks, more soda more snacks, figuring our their wifi connection, why their headphones aren't working - gotta clean out the ear wax, getting up to let them go to the bathroom, finding their dropped pen or pencil, just as you got them settled now they need to go to the bathroom, etc.

This thread always makes me want one! Which one did you get? There are so many different kinds, I get confused over them. I don't even like to bake. lol But I always want one.

Ooohh Now I am thinking an airfryer. Decisions. Anyone have one they recommend?
I can't remember who it was on here last year that got me wanting one...maybe @amalone1013 ? I wanted the artisan series in turquoise,b/c I have short cabinet heights and it's the one that will fit on my counter...... I can't wait to get it and try it, I cook and bake pretty much nonstop! (and turquoise b/c everything should be bright and colorful)

I'm pretty sure I was the enabler 😋

One year at Lowes I got Hibiscus for $5 a plant on their 'we just let these almost die' rack. I bought a half dozen and planted them around my back deck. Turned out beautiful but they die off in winter here. Since at that time I was working, next door neighbor dug them up and planted in pots inside. She still has them. Haven't seen a deal on them since, but get to visit the old ones at neighbors' house from time to time.
I still have my $3 Lowes clearance hibiscus I got 2 years ago.... I bring inside in winter, it has two color blooms (peach and red) and is amazing to this day,I bought what they had and gave them as gifts to friends too, they're all great! (opposed to some fancy nursery ones that died lol) Over the weekend DH and I used 3 amex/Lowes offers for amazon gc (always useful) and I grabbed a fleece blanket from the 75% off holiday decor section..... still have one more offer to use up but have to wait till I can pay for it first.

After reading all of this Southwest family boarding talk, I have another question. I have 2 kids, one is 3 and the other will be 6 is a couple of weeks. So, in just over a year, DD5 will not qualify for family boarding anymore. Normally, this won't be an issue. I will be able to board with younger daughter during family boarding, and DH can board with older daughter during regular boarding.

But, once she turns 7, what happens if I fly alone with both girls? Will the gate agents allow one adult and one over-6 child to board during family boarding, or does it have to be 2 adults? Or should I just choose a different airline if flying alone with a 4 and 7 year old where I can pick seats ahead of time?
this is from experience.... they won't ask a child to wait and board alone, just bring them with you and the little one. Even if your dh is there. In the past, regular boarding,I had an earlier number than my son who was about 11-12 and I didn't even ask but they told him to get on with me rather than wait alone. No worries it'll be fine. SWA is way scarier sounding online than IRL. Worst case scenario I ever saw was a family getting on AFTER all the c's (don't know why they were so late) and announcing over mike that they weren't leaving until someone moved, allowing a young kid to sit with mom. What I'm saying is don't worry, bring your kids on when you board. that includes carseat kids in family boarding.

I don't really know good vs not good....but I like this model for the size. I figure if I hate it I can return it anyway but I don't think I'll hate it....

I ended up ordering it! The blue one too! I just got my Rakuten email and it says I earned $18.99! I am so confused by that amount. Lol. It said up to 5%. That is way more than 5%!

Oh, and I went to Lowe’s to get a Target GC! So $15 more off for me.

Yes--four upgraded boardings when available.

I may buy two EBCI on the way there and send the kids ahead of me (I can imagine them fighting over what row to sit in). I suspect that flight will be more full than the return flight since the fare is about 2x the return fare.
I used to send my kids ahead of me....but they kept picking rows I didn't want! :rotfl: like walking by the first 6 empty rows and picking a random spot based on the window placement or something (they were young teens at this point) so I quit doing that b/c none of them could choose correctly!:rotfl2:Now mama gets on first and picks her row!
