I just need to plug Twitter here for a second LOL

I woke up to an e-mail from Chase that JetBlue changed my itinerary for December. My 10:00am flight got pushed to 11:45am. 10:00am was already later than what I originally wanted, but there was nothing else at the time I booked. Surprise, surprise, JetBlue also added a brand new completely open 9:15am flight and it is now $75 more per person than when I originally booked back in July. Called JetBlue, 24 minute hold. Hung up and went to Twitter... got a response within 5 minutes that they were looking into it and 14 minutes later I got a confirmation the itinerary was changed to the new 9:15am flight. I was shocked at how simple and easy that was! Twitter for the win!!

Twitter for the win!! So glad you were able to get the earlier flight you wanted.

I had a similar experience with Delta via Twitter a few months ago. Quick answer and they were super helpful and waived a change fee for me (so we could push our vacation out by a day and attend the SWGE AP preview).

I received a letter from Chase titled "We need additional information from you about your business" and saying they are trying to contact me. Anybody received something similar?

Context:
  • I have never received a denial from a Chase application. Most recent biz CC was a CIP back in June.
  • I opened a Chase Biz checking account on 10/5/19--before it increased from $300 to $500 😭
  • I've received an email re-stating the terms of that checking offer (which suggests it is correctly attached to my account).
  • The checking is for a (legit) business that is the same as one of my Chase CCs, but I do have another (still legit) business with a CC
The letter says they'll attempt to contact me again. If I have questions or concerns, I can call them or visit a branch. My guess is that it's related to the checking account, but any similar experience here would set my mind at ease a little and help me prepare for the conversation.

As I said, the businesses are legit as far as I'm concerned, but P2 and I have been aggressive Chase customers this year 🤣

Do you apply as a sole proprietor with SSN for biz credit cards and checking accounts, or do you apply with some other legal form with EIN? If the latter, Chase may be asking for more information about your business(es) to be in compliance with Know Your Customer regulations. Since your businesses are “legit,” I wouldn’t be too concerned.

Also, since you applied for the business checking offer so recently, did you know that you can SM for a “match” to the better $500 offer within 21 days? See the following DPs:

So instead of a Minimum Spending Sunday lets do a Bank Account bonus Sunday.

If you’re working on a bank account bonus post the details.

P2 is waiting for identify verification to clear for a Discover savings account bonus.
I'm working on two--Incredible Bank and Suntrust. Incredible requires recurring "DD" of $300+ to get $175. Offer is dead. Suntrust is $300 for $3,000 in "DD" over two of the first three statement periods. No fee since it's linked to my mortgage.

I'll use C1 transfers for both of these accounts as "DDs."

I’m wondering if a year might work better overall because we’d have more time to plan and it would be getting warmer at that time of year in Norway.
We took our first daughter to Disney World when she was 10 months. That was our first trip with her. We took our 2nd daughter to Disney World at 5 months, 7 months and 9 months (that was our AP year).

I’m going to provide a dissenting opinion from some and recommend you consider waiting a bit on travel. Adding a newborn will affect numerous things in your life, at times it may try your marriage and certainly will test your patience. This is your first child, so there is so much unknown at this point regarding how they will behave and how you will react. When you do travel, you also may not want to attempt something “new” and expensive as your first trip. I felt very confident taking my 10 month old to Disney because it was a trip we knew how to do. There was no pressure to accomplish anything, we really let her dictate our pace, and most importantly we avoided stress and arguments because we knew exactly what to expect going in to the trip. While a cruise might be new to you guys, I guess it could also fit the bill since it’s largely a controlled environment (perhaps I’d keep my shore excursions light or nonexistent though). At any rate, I felt I’d share this - I’m sure others could see it differently. It also is hard as a parent of 2 to rewind my mind and remember what it felt like to be a brand new parent of our first child...

DH has the bigger one and it's carry on sized. He's a bit obsessed. I have the rolling carry on.

@SouthFayetteFan and his family have a great luggage set up. He'll have good advice on this.
I see @Lain corrected you lol. I’m CHEAP - we got some Kohl’s luggage from my parents for Christmas a couple years ago which replaced our decade old luggage prior to that, ain’t got no time for sinking $$$ into bags 🤣 🤣 🤣

Timely reply! I was just starting to search around for DPs about getting it matched, so I'll send an SM tonight.

All cards and the checking account are sole proprietorships with my SSN. I'm inclined to think it's no big deal, but I guess I'll find out this week.

I got an email from Amex. 5k bonus to add AU's to my Gold card with 500 dollar spends. I added three AU's. It should be an easy 15k MR. I was approved a couple of weeks ago for Blue Business Card. I used the 10k referral. My dh and I got mailers from Amex. 100k for the Hilton Surpass. I already have 5 Amex cards and I'm trying to get under 5/24, I may have dh apply for it. Can you pool Hilton Honors points? I already have the Aspire.

Didn’t see this answered but yes you can and its free! They dont even care if its your relative and you can do it online. That offer for the Surpass should be higher online incognito or via referral I think though. Its certainly low for that card.

We’ve been in Virginia for the weekend visiting my brother and his family and it’s been really fun! It’s just a short weekend trip but still great.

We’re still working on our CIP MSR. Next will be a CIC for Dh, probably within the next month.

My big question right now is about traveling with an infant. Dh and I have really been talking about Norway and we both want to fly and tour ourselves. Would this be super difficult with a 6 month old? Would a cruise be better? We were thinking a cruise might be better when they’re older and moving around. For those of you who’ve been to Norway, what time of year is best? The baby is due in April so I don’t think we would go until September or October but I really don’t know. We could wait until 1 year too

I waited until ours was a year old. She wasn't a good traveler when she was an infant and would cry whenever she was in the car (as opposed to most of the kids who love the car and fall asleep) so a road trip with her was out of the question. I have friends who could do it, but I couldn't. A cruise is easier all around, but doesn't give you the flexibility that doing something on your own does.

I remember Delta waiving that fee! How amazing. I bet if you called you would have been charged. LOL

Yes, it was so nice! Efficient and competent service without having to wait on hold? I feel so spoiled now. I probably should have called Chase since I booked through the UR portal, but I didn't feel like dealing with that 🤣

I had the spend Lowe's 15% Amex offer up to $15 on my BBP card and 4 other AU cards in the name of family members. The first Lowe's I went to had the cashier giving me a hard time about purchasing Disney GCs with a credit card. I was very polite but asked to see the manager since I've always purchased them with a cc before. The manager confirmed that the restriction was only on cash equivalent cards, not Disney GCs. The store still limited the purchase for 2 transactions and no more than $200. I had to drive to another Lowe's to use the Amex offers on the other cards.

It's time to start my yearly save 10% or more, earn 5x MRs or more, earn 5x URs or more or make an MSR by purchasing Disney GCs to pay my upcoming DVC dues. So far I've saved $75 with the Lowe's offers and earned 600 MRs. Last month's Staples offers earned me 4450 MRs. Long way to go before January rolls around.

Life is funny. I was one of four and the 2nd oldest with a sister 17 months younger and I always only wanted one or none for kids because being a middle child sucked. My older brother would get punished for something and then I would have to wait to be able to do whatever but my sister would then get it to it at the same time as me or right on time, like driving. And I hated it. I always just wanted one who I could focus solely on. DS would occasionally ask for a sibling but I think he realizes how good he has it as an only.

Plus he was a dream baby so he made my life simple as an older parent. Of course, he is now testing my patience. But so sweet at times.
Life is funny. And we usually want to do things different than our parents did them. Neither dh or I liked being an only child. We didn’t have parents that doted on us as onlies though. Both of us were left alone a lot and both always wished we’d had a sibling. So, that was important to us.

@Alexle2007 you sound like my sister! Shes the 2nd of the 4 (I’m the 3rd) and so far no kids for her! She also hates being the middle. I don’t mind so much haha

@EACarlson our current stuff is Samsonite! Held up great for like 10 years now! Its just time for a lighter/more organized set! (Ours is soft sided and heavyyyy).

I see @Lain corrected you lol. I’m CHEAP - we got some Kohl’s luggage from my parents for Christmas a couple years ago which replaced our decade old luggage prior to that, ain’t got no time for sinking $$$ into bags 🤣 🤣 🤣

I will just leave this here...

At the same time, I also shared previously that I am using a Samsonite set from Costco and the same Jansport backpack I did back in school 🤣 I will eventually cave and upgrade the backpack so I don't have to wear it when traveling. Sometimes I have 2 laptops in there and that is no fun on my back!!

Bank Bonus Sunday:

Capital Bank- funding left Alliant two weeks ago and has still not cleared. I called and they said Monday. Ridiculous. Will be $400 for 20 debit purchases (amazon reloads or dollar tree depending on what I need at the tree).

BB&T- $250 for 2 $100 monthly deposits. Set up DD to keep it fee free but can’t figure out if two monthly means 2x month or two months. Such odd wording. Will do the3 $25 bill pays via their site just to be safe to meet the criteria.
