We’ve been in Virginia for the weekend visiting my brother and his family and it’s been really fun! It’s just a short weekend trip but still great.

We’re still working on our CIP MSR. Next will be a CIC for Dh, probably within the next month.

My big question right now is about traveling with an infant. Dh and I have really been talking about Norway and we both want to fly and tour ourselves. Would this be super difficult with a 6 month old? Would a cruise be better? We were thinking a cruise might be better when they’re older and moving around. For those of you who’ve been to Norway, what time of year is best? The baby is due in April so I don’t think we would go until September or October but I really don’t know. We could wait until 1 year too

Or a high maintenance mistress who'll deny you more honey if you don't keep spending on her while trying to maintain your marriage to a girl named Chase.

Thank you for that laugh! I’m hoping taking on this particular mistress is worth it for me in the end, or until I use her for all she’s worth. LOL!

Thank you for your explanation of referrals. I understand your thinking, and will definitely try to find the best offer available when the time comes to sign up DH. I haven’t been able to pull up the Platicorn offer for him, so may go for a Gold offer when the time comes.

Awesome feedback! Thanks for taking the time to spell this all out. Incredibly helpful!

You can’t cruise with them until they are six months old. Honestly sounds like a nightmare to me. Babies are exhausting and I personally was in survival mode at that point.

Trying to figure out how to get the 5% for my CF card. Do the shops at Epcot take Chase Pay? I was hoping to combine the AP GC deal with the 5%... Tried PayPal and Walmart.com last week but my orders got cancelled...

I’ve read some pretty good blogs and articles about people who travel with babies. I know we won’t really know until after the baby is born but we definitely won’t be those people that stay home for years and stop traveling. So maybe a cruise would be best because we could keep everything in one place

@smallsy YES! My first car was an orange Jeep Compass. Stick shift, because my dad insisted we know how (should we ever be on the amazing race). I didn’t get a new one when I totaled that one because they don’t even look like Jeeps to me anymore.

@Haley R I am a big propronent of traveling with kids but I think waiting until they are at least 6 months and sleeping longer stretches, are down to 2 naps, and eating some solids is way easier. We did a big trip with our older son at 1 and it was pretty easy and a lot of fun. It included a cruise and a land vacation and cruise was a little easier just because less packing/unpacking/adjusting for him.

I think my post must’ve come across wrong. We wouldn’t go when the baby is tiny. We would wait at least until September which would be 5 months and wanted to try a short plane ride somewhere in the states first to see how that goes. I do agree with you that a cruise might be better.

5 months is still kind of tiny. All babies are different and we all have different tolerances, temperaments, etc. But if you have a fussy baby and/or a baby that doesn't sleep well, traveling internationally (especially the plane ride) sounds pretty rough to me. And it sounds like a trip you would have to plan in advance without really knowing what the baby will be like or how you are adjusting to motherhood. Not trying to be a killjoy at all.

No that makes sense. It would be kind of last minute just because we won’t know how the baby is. Do you think waiting until 1 year would be better?

I think six months could work. I had one baby that would have been fine at six months and one that would have been a disaster. But one year probably would be great too. Of course I was pregnant with my second when my first was a year old! And I’m totally with you—travel with the baby. No reason to stop something you guys love.

I received a letter from Chase titled "We need additional information from you about your business" and saying they are trying to contact me. Anybody received something similar?

Context:
  • I have never received a denial from a Chase application. Most recent biz CC was a CIP back in June.
  • I opened a Chase Biz checking account on 10/5/19--before it increased from $300 to $500 😭
  • I've received an email re-stating the terms of that checking offer (which suggests it is correctly attached to my account).
  • The checking is for a (legit) business that is the same as one of my Chase CCs, but I do have another (still legit) business with a CC
The letter says they'll attempt to contact me again. If I have questions or concerns, I can call them or visit a branch. My guess is that it's related to the checking account, but any similar experience here would set my mind at ease a little and help me prepare for the conversation.

As I said, the businesses are legit as far as I'm concerned, but P2 and I have been aggressive Chase customers this year 🤣

Can someone help me figure out my luggage dilemma? We are thinking new luggage for Christmas. We have 2 types of trips planned coming up- flying that will involve checked bags and hauling carseats on the plane, and long road trips. I want 1. A nice hardsided checked bag for flying. 2. Easy to grab and carry luggage for in and out of the car while wrangling baby and toddler 3. Something that fits under the seat on the plane and is easy to carry in an airport.
I like stuff that packs a lot and I use packing cubes.

What would you bring? Specific reqs of a piece you love would be great!

I’m wondering if a year might work better overall because we’d have more time to plan and it would be getting warmer at that time of year in Norway.

Oh okay! I’ve been told to visit the Sebastian inlet so that’s not too far from us
A little further south, in Jupiter, is Blowing Rock State Preserve. It’s a beach with rock formations unlike any other in Florida and unique sand. It’s very pretty. If you like kayaking, near there is Jonathan Dickinson State Park with good kayaking on a river. Vero Beach is pleasant with good restaurants, a boardwalk, and a Disney resort.

I like away. And use the amazon basics backpack for under the seat.
