Any feedback on EEMH at Hollywood Studios? 6am till 9am. What was your experience?

Just got back from a long weekend at Disney. I'm guessing it's because of Columbus Day, but the crowds were pretty significant. We got to HS right around opening the first day (cleared security/entered around 6:05am) and MFSR was already at 45min. We went on Slinky Dog first, which had ~20min wait time, and by the time we finished, MFSR was already 80+ min wait. We rode some other rides and got in line for MFSR around 8:30am when posted wait time was 120min. Ended up only being 1hr wait but I was still shocked at how long the lines were during EEMH.

We are planning to head to HS on the 22nd, was wondering during EEMH would it be wise to head to Toy Story Land first before heading to GE? Our fast passes for the day is Aliens at 9:20, Star Tours at 10:20 then Beauty and the Beast.

I will be in the parks next weekend from the 25th to the 29th, planning to do HS on the 26th. It seems like the crowds are starting to increase based on comments here and checking the MDE app. Most days it seems like the wait time for SR is over an hour shortly after the park opens for EEMH. It would seem like getting there around 5 or 5:15 would increase the chances of seeing the storm trooper March and not having as long a wait. Does this seem like a good idea?

Here was our families touring plan for Thursday October 3rd. It is well worth it to make every attempt to be there by 6:00 am! We did not feel rushed at all during our day at HS. This is amazing and I’m so jealous you were able to ride SR so much in one day. I was there last month right after the hurricane, for two days only, and regretted not going to HS because it seemed like the lines were so short. I didn’t have a park hopper and spent my two days at Food and Wine and then AK because I had never seen Pandora. Hopefully I will have luck and be able to plow through HS by mid day. I’m a morning person so I plan on taking a ride share to the park around 5 AM.

Did you take the bus from GF to HS and if so what time did you arrive at the bus stop?

Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences. I'm in the far away planning stage & trying to soak in as much info as possible.

Did you take the bus from GF to HS and if so what time did you arrive at the bus stop?
We were at the bus stop at 5:20 a.m. The bus picked us up at 5:43 a.m. We scanned our Magic Bands and walked into HS at exactly 6:00 a.m. It was great because the initial wave of people had just cleared out. There was a very light crowd at the gates when we entered. Toy Story Land was like a ghost town when we got over there as most of the crowd went apparently straight to SWGE.

Stargellstars - thanks so much for the information! So when they let you in you don't have to stay with the masses going to MF, you can to to TSL. Or do you go thru star wars land to the back entrance to TSL?

The mass group was already cleared out. When you walk straight toward the front by the old Great Movie Ride there are cast members with signs guiding your way to either TSL, SWGE or to Areosmith & TOT. We just walked straight to Toy Story Land. You walk past Voyage of the Little Mermaid and head toward the old entrance to TSM. You will bear right and that is the entrance to Toy Story Land. After we rode SDD, AS and TSM we used the Toy Story Land back entrance to SWGE and headed right for MFSR. We had a great day! It is most definately worth getting up early for!

We will be there the week of October 26 with our HS day being Monday 28. I am of the mindset to avoid EMH parks usually, But that is not an option this trip. Hubby will get up early, but not 5am early. What have wait times been recently for MFSR around the 7:30am time? Worth it or should we just skip it and try again in March (our next trip)? We would probably hit SDD as well and I have a 9am ADR for Oga’s. I know October can be crazy busy and I’m just wondering about others experiences recently. Thanks!

I am going to be at WDW the same time as you and I’ve been tracking the wait times on MDE all week. FWIW, SR seemed to always be a 60-90 min wait no matter what time I checked. I did check this morning around 7ish and it was at 75 min. I’m strongly considering the 5:30 AM arrival so I can get everything in SWGE and TSL completed by mid morning and free up the rest of my day.

Thanks for the info. I was afraid of that. I don’t want to tell him to wake up early and go only to be confronted with a 75 min wait. That won’t go over well lol. We will just go in with realistic expectations I guess.

I felt we had great luck last Friday at the back end of EEMH.

Entered the ride at 8:34am, 50 minute posted wait. It had clicked down from 55 to 50 sometime while we were messing around with pictures out front.

Photo time stamp in the checkerboard room at 9:08am, so was probably on the Falcon around 9:10am, for a wait of around 35 mins.

I had planned on being there earlier - but as goes WDW travel with little ones, life got in the way. Was stoked with the results though.

I will miss EEMHs.

That’s good news! Do you remember what time you entered the park? Did you hit SDD at all?

Hmmm... let me see. I can only verify my life through photo time stamps.

Waiting on Friendship Boat - 7:49am
On Friendship Boat - 8:04am
(Random note, I dislike the Friendship Boats...looking at my photos reminded me of how annoyed I was with waiting for them!)
Photo in front of Gerti - 8:25am
Photo around Baseline Taphouse - 8:28am

No SDD - we spent the rest of the morning in SWGE.

More info than you wanted, but hope that helps!

We'll be at ASM Dec 9-12th so praying that EEMH continue through December, especially with RotR. When are they likely to announce any new hours?

Thank you! I feel the same about the Friendship Boats lol. We are usually in the Boardwalk area, but will be at AKL this trip and will be ubering over. Hoping getting there between 7-7:30 will get us on the ride without a horrible wait.

i checked MDE at 6 AM and again just now. The wait jumped from 15 min to 55 min for SR but everything in TSL has been a 5 min wait so far today.
