Can anyone at Disneyland right now report crowd levels for this week? :) (any days between 10/5/19 through 10/13/19)

Any words of wisdom for Veteran’s Day weekend? I am assuming it will be very crowded, but it’s the only time we could go and see the Christmas decorations.

We went last year that weekend and it wasn't that bad. Definitely not as bad as last Monday or Wednesday (the two days last week I was in the park).

We were in the parks 10/10-10/13... without max pass we would have gotten very little done (we are spoiled brats and don’t get in lines over 30 minutes long, and if I am being honest, we think hard if it is over 20). For example we never did make it to Pirates... we failed to rope drop DL, and each time we passed it, the whole inner queue was full, it was out the walkway, snaking a few more times... we worst we saw it was at 3 pm on Saturday, it snaked all the way past Blue Bayou toward the train.

However, with max pass and frequent refreshing, we did a ton. We didn’t have time for Fantasyland anything, or pretty much anything that did not have max pass. But rope drop would have helped that. We broke 25,000 steps each day we were there, and closed the parks except for yesterday because we had to fly home.

I'm the same way. If it's 25-30 minutes or more it's not worth my time standing in line. I only get down to Disneyland once a year so the last thing I want to be doing is spending half my day standing in line waiting to get on a ride. It's really not worth it. If I lived a lot closer and went multiple times a year, even two or three, I'd be more willing to wait in standby or just run with paper FPs. MaxPass really does afford you a luxury that you would've otherwise lost out on if your visits are few and far between. You just get so much more done.

I went to asu, and when we had fall break tons of students would go to Disneyland (including me lol). At that time too many local schools had their fall breaks, so they would go to the parks too. That’s why this week is usually very busy

GO DEVILS!

Guardians of the Galaxy is 170 minutes right now!

Saturday was the last day of our 3 day trip and it was pretty crazy. However, we had gotten all our "must do's" out of the way the prior two days so we were able to relax a bit and just "be an island," as my husband is fond of saying.

We didn’t have time for Fantasyland anything, or pretty much anything that did not have max pass.
We ran from Batuu to Peter Pan when it showed a 30 minute queue mid-day on 10/11. I was thrilled! Husband, less so. LOL

MaxPass was a bust for us this past visit (Fri/Sat) as we were lazy and didn't enter the parks until after noon each day.

we were there both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was just packed, packed, packed. Not sure if it was because it was warm but I would say its up there with one of the most packed I have experienced. If it were my first time at the parks would not have been happy. We go a few times a year so we were just going for the halloween experience. We got there for EMH and did all rides we wanted to except for Matterhorn since that one and many others in both parks kept breaking down. MP seemed to be gone very early when we tried to book more to do the same rides at night.

Sunday was way better. Normal packed day. Very busy and less hot. We started at DCA and then went over to DL and FP were still available for I think all rides.

If you know your way around the parks, use MM/EMH, MP/FP, you'll be fine. If not then I would start getting an action plan.
Overall we did everything we wanted to and at a semi relaxed pace. all rides we got on were with MP or less than 20 min.

Update. It got way more packed as the day went on. But we thankfully got through a lot by the time crowds really picked up. It’s definitely more of a tourist crowd than a locals crowd. Soo many people don’t know where they are, can’t figure out how or what the Disneyland app is, etc.
we’ve done space mountain, Peter Pan, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, haunted mansion, smuggler’s run, Star tours, big thunder, RSR, guardians, incredicoaster, TSMM, saw Mickey and the magical map. We are doing Soarin soon, then Goofy. My friends are astaying for world of color. ill head out then! Had a fun day but dealing with heavy crowds has been exhausting.

We are here now and I personally think it was pretty bad today. The lines for food were terrible. I’m so glad we had dining reservations outside of the parks. Even the fast pass return times are crazy.... the line for Indiana Jones fast pass return is past the Tarzan tree. We were spoiled this summer..... never doing Columbus Day again!!!! And going forward we’ll do Halloween in September!

We walked through DtD about 5:15 or so headed back to the DLH, and it was quiet. So was the DLH. Everyone is in the parks 💯.

On the bright side, the weather was amazing today!

We've been here Sat., Sun., and today (Columbus Day) and yesterday (Sun.) was by far the best with Sat. the worse, but today got pretty bad after 11ish. The other big issue has been rides being down (nore than we've ever seen) and MDE, especially mobile ordering having lots of issues. Last night at Bengal Barbq we waited over 30 mins for a mobile order only to eventually get redunded. They weren't even working on mobile orderd ... had stacks and stacks or mobile receipts, said they were supposed to do 1 regular, 1 mobile etc., but in the over 20 mins we were standing there they didn't call 1 mobile order. Ppl were pretty frustrated... a few asked the regular orders on pick up how long they had waited and most replied with 10ish mins so it was clear they weren't doing mobile orders. We've solely used mobile order at WDW but it's a real PITA here as it's just sooo inconsistent.

A CM at the Disneyland Hotel told me some of the schools in Arizona have a two week fall break, and this week so far she’s had guests checking in from Northern California, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. I think there are just a ton of people here from out of state... I heard several guests comment that they’re from my home state of Texas. No school breaks there but I guess people are pulling their kids out of school. She said the parks were slow in September, so that’s when we’ll come for Halloween next year!

A CM at Haunted Mansion said the crowds today were not quite as bad as Christmas so we are definitely NEVER coming here at Christmas. 😂😂😂😂

Just to clarify for those following this thread: DLR doesn't have MDE. At DLR, we have the Disneyland App (often referred to here as "the app"). The two are similar, but not quite the same. The app has been having a lot of issues over the past few days -- which is weird because it had massive tech issues last year at this time, too. (Anyone remember/survive the MP 2018 Columbus Day fail?!)

So now I’m annoyed.... here for EMH. What a joke. Only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open. So it’s like Christmas Day in Fantasyland right now because every resort guest and Magic morning guest are in two areas of the park. You’d think given the horrendous crowds over the past two weeks, they would’ve opened up additional lands and staffed accordingly. This is really the first time I find myself actually feeling angry at Disney!

And Matterhorn isn’t even open. 🤦‍♀️ People are mad!

Final consensus. I will not be coming on Columbus day again! LOL I only came because a friend and her family were in town and I hadn't seen them in 2 years. We all had a great time, don't get me wrong, but you could tell around 12 or 1, we all were just beat down by the crowds. Getting around was ridiculous! I come very often and am good at maneuvering through crowds, but you couldn't even maneuver if you tried. On top of that, people would stop in the middle of the walkway to check the map, or decide what ride to go to next. Don't get me started on the random strollers and ECV's that would be left in the middle of the walkways too (I'm assuming people didn't know where to park them).

Since we started at 8am, we lucked out when it came to the rides. The only major backup we had was Star Tours at 5 pm. The standby was 100 minutes, and the fastpass line took about 30 minutes to get through. Some of the wait times I saw in the app throughout the day were Haunted mansion 180, Incredicoaster 105, Cars 150, Matterhorn 100, Star Tours 100, Space mountain 110, TSMM 115.

The app was a little glitchy, but it worked. Mobile ordering saved us so much time. We got some snacks at cozy cone, which doesn'rt have mobile ordering. It took me about 20 minutes to get my mac and cheese. And it took my friend's brother in law 30 minutes to get his vodka drink (forgot the actual name). Granted he went after dinner, but the line was down the pathway.

So yeah, no more Columbus day for me!! lol Any any at disneyland is fun, and we for sure had fun. But those crowds were just crazy.

that's standard EMH at Disneyland ... those are always the only lands open during that hour. I have never seen them change that.

Those 2 areas are the only ones open for EMH normally, so I’m not sure why it would be a surprise. Is Matterhorn already down for refurb?

This has always been the case. Or at least as far as i remember it has only been Fantasy land and Tomorrow Land. Where you not aware? during EMH and MM all guest are only in those areas it is always packed and gets more packed once they open it up to the other guest. I do agree that by now they should be aware that they are packed and need to staff better and make sure rides are up.

Matterhorn was done wen we went this weekend during EMH but we just went over and did the other rides we like. It is what it is. No point in getting mad and ruining my day. Im always prepared for my plans to not go as planned lol.

That's normal. Focus on the little fantasyland rides with the short waits (not peter pan). They get long throughout the day. Use a fastpass for matterhorn when it's back up. It's one of those rides that breaks down too much to wait for it more than 10 minutes. At least with fastpass if it breaks you get the replacement fastpass and can come back whenever.

I think matterhorn is done next week for refurb. But during our trip it kept being " temporarily out"

So all of the comments that said Disney raising prices was the reason for the low crowds last Summer was absolute nonsense. Seems like crowds this Fall are just as bad as ever. No appreciable drop in attendance caused by Disney raising prices.

It's usually bad this time of year. Fall=new summer. The "crowded" days this summer were nothing compared to the crowds that are there now.
