If anyone is planning to visit Oslo, I posted an article on my blog today about our trip there in September. There's a link on reddit, or pm me if you want to check it out. And to keep this on topic, I used a great AMEX offer to get a discount on the website host I'm using. :)

I will check it out. We'll be visiting Oslo on our Carnival cruise next Summer. Of course we only have a day there.

Honestly you can see a lot in one day there. The ship docks downtown and everything is easy to get to. We were there for a week visiting DD, but I have extended family who met up with us for 2 days and they saw a ton (and so did we) in those 2 days.

Bummer. I just found out the Starbucks across from Aulani is a franchise location, not corporate owned, so they won’t be accepting stars and probably won’t get mobile ordering. [But they do accept GCs and payments in the app.]
Ugh, I guess the main thing is if the location makes the drinks properly! I HATE when they can't get it together even if I paid with stars 🤣

As for lounge info, DD stumbled upon an "American Express" by Pontus lounge late last night at ARN (Stockholm). It was different from the Centurion lounges she's seen. They had a buffet and also a menu you can use to order food for there or to go if you are in a hurry. There were different things included based on which credit card you had - Centurion vs. Platinum - but that was mainly alcohol related. It had just closed when she got there, but they were really nice and showed her around and let her take pics, etc. Then they asked her if she'd like a nice coffee drink to go since they had just cleaned up everything. So if anyone is traveling there, or through there, this might be helpful info. We had no idea it even existed.

We gave up on Starbucks a couple of years ago. They kept messing up the orders and handing us sticky, drippy cups. DH and I bought a really nice Nespresso machine and haven't looked back. Now we favor the hotels that have these in the rooms. :rotfl: I'm not above going to Starbucks when we are traveling, but seriously the lattees at home are so much better I'm spoiled now.

Applied yesterday for CIU, approved today. Needed some more URs and we have (unfortunately) a lot of large spending coming up. More than I need for DH's new SW biz. One being a new ride on lawnmower. Ours died it's final death this week. But served us well for 12 years. It had "fallen off the truck" at home depot (literally) and had a dented seat and steering wheel. They sold it for $400 and gave DH a new seat and steering wheel to put on himself. After that steal, we're a little sticker shocked at how much new ones really cost.

Also, DH started a new job a few weeks ago with a lot of travel. Which we book ourselves and get reimbursed. :yay: Now to figure out the best cards for all of this new stuff. Jet blue and delta seem to be the best for most of his flights, neither of which we usually fly. Jet blue might be more useful for us for points. Unsure if jet blue CC would be useful. And they tend to stay at Marriotts (easier for him to stay where everyone else is, but he does have a choice) and we're usually hilton people. Time to dust off the old SPG biz card (now bonvoy)?. Or stay with CSR instead? Or a new marriott card? Any marriott or jet blue experts? :) Any favorite car rental places? We are not loyal to any company for that, usually book whichever is cheapest for family vacations...
Congratulations on the CIU!

If you are interested in JetBlue and business cards, there is an elevated offer that some here (including myself) have recently applied for. Barclays can be interesting with business approvals and even using the card after the approval, but sometimes the risk is worth the reward!

Are any of you familiar with the Sakura Business Debit Card? Miles to Memories posted a link to get this Debit Card (no hard pull) and it comes with $200 loaded onto it... Just wondering if anyone here has done this?
DoC did a write up. No one is familiar because they are literally brand new as of a few days ago. Not having time to research them out I passed as I want to know something about any company I give my SSN to. MtM seems to be the first person to have actually received the card.

The promo is dead btw :(

Does Undercover Tourist code as travel on the Barclay's Arrival+? I'm sure this has been discussed but I can't remember. Trying to figure out which points/miles I can use towards our Universal tickets.

Good to know. I haven't started researching on Cruise critic yet. I'm hoping most of our ports are going to be easy to do on or own. We're stopping at Gothenberg, Kiel, Zeebrugge, Rotterdam, Oslo, and Le Havre.

@CyndiLouWho - the BW Anaheim Inn is about 3 properties south of "the crosswalk" that leads to the tram dropoff area on Harbor. The BW Park Place Inn is literally AT "the crosswalk." For me, the hotels are comparable (both are long, skinny properties with exterior corridors) but the breakfast at the BW Anaheim Inn is better IMO, due to the outside eating area and overlook I mentioned. For the BWPPI, breakfast is actually served in the upstairs of the Captain Kidd's buffet right next door and I don't like their setup as well.

And @wanderlust7 is correct- in addition to those two I mentioned, there are an additional 2 BW Properties down on Katella, (Stovall's and Pavillions). Neither of them is QUITE as convenient, location wise, IMO. Stovall's has their own breakfast and last time (the only time) I stayed at Pavilions, they didn't have their own breakfast but gave vouchers for the Denny's which is practically in their parking lot. I didn't care for the Pavilions location after dark.

I think there are more BW in the area farther away but those are the 4 I have stayed at.

My family isn't into parades or even character dining any more, but we are HUGE fans of mobile order any time we can get it! My very picky eater just enjoyed the Ronto Wrap (inside SWGE) twice on this last trip. It's a pork sausage, sliced pork, peppercorn sauce, and cole slaw in a pita. Very tasty!

We do occasionally enjoy Mickey and the Magical Map if it's still playing next summer and on our second day, we chose to get on the DLRR first thing at rope drop and were the ONLY people on it for the entire round trip. It was awesome.

I think you asked earlier about getting park tickets through UCT and adding MP later? I know you can do that but is there any reason you don't just want to buy them with MP to begin with? I find that one less thing to deal with upon entrance is always a plus. Don't forget you get PP downloads and ride photos with it.

Always do rope drop. Get there EARLY- it's worth it because the crowds get exponentially heavier as the morning goes on.

I don't know if you're Starbucks people but I put my son in line at the turnstiles and then mobile order breakfast from the DTD location (NOT DTD West... be careful!) and then bring it back and we eat/drink in line as we wait to go through the turnstiles.

That's all I can think of for now!
Thank you for these DL tips! I am filing that Starbucks one away for next October! ☺

Ooo, this is tempting! Too bad I literally just applied for CIP, lol. I could apply DW though. We fly JetBlue pretty frequently but haven't gotten one of their cards yet. I kept missing out on the good offers, or didn't want to use a 5/24 slot for the personal version. DW has a Barclay's AAviator Business card (from the 60K miles for one purchase offer); are they stingy about approving for more than one business card?

I am interested in perspectives on booking travel insurance vs. relying on CSR insurance.

I typically do not book insurance because we drive or fly SW (easy to cancel/change) and stay DVC or at hotels that can be cancelled. However, as I am looking at putting down $$$ for an AK cruise that cannot be easily (or at all?) cancelled/rescheduled, I started looking at insurance options. Thanks for any feedback!
Yes to insurance. We used insure my trip dot com. Made sure to cover cruise, excursions and evacuation (and a high amount as evac can be very expensive, especially in AK).
Oh you know that's what I'll be doing first thing tomorrow morning!
Most people don’t wait that long ;)

Is you concern the amount of MSR? If that’s not a problem you can definitely go for both. Chase won’t know about a Barclays biz card and Barclays won’t know about Chase. It’s not like you’re cheating on one with the other 🤣

The beauty of biz cards...have your cake and eat it too!!!
