Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I have a Magical Express question. Our flight is supposed get into Orlando at 9:45pm the night we arrive. I think the cutoff for Magical Express picking up luggage is 10:00pm. Should we just plan to grab our own bags off the carousel or hope that DME gets it? Does anyone have experience with later flights like this? In the past we’ve flown in the early morning. Thanks!! ✈😊

There is a Transportation Forum here on the DIS where the experts reside, rather than here on theYC/BC Resort Forum.
I would pick up my bags, but I am not an expert

I would definatly pick up my bags. It will probably be a couple of hours before they get to you if you don't.

I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer on the links to the main page. Do the standart view club level rooms in the Beach Club have a daybed or only the two queen beds?

Some do, some don't.

We are not sure exactly how many in that category have them, but I believe it is more than in BC CL GV or WV.

Starting at the beginning of this year, I believe, groups of more than 4 are no longer able to book club level at either BC or YC.

ETA: Prior to the most recent BC room renovation, 12 of the 38 BC CL SV rooms had daybeds. Not sure if that number has changed after the refurbishment.

Thank you.
We have two teenage kids, a boy and a girl, and when we've stayed non club level in the past one usually sleeps on the bed and the other on the couch. They'd prefer to do that then sleep together.

When you put in your room request, through both Central Reservations Office and Disney Signature Services, state your request for "Daybed please. Teen children of opposite genders"

I wanted to share some more pictures of the view from our studio, with the large balcony. This was BCV room 431.

I forgot to add the night view pictures!

Hello Dee! Can you please add me to the list, we are returning 4/18-4/25 Beach Club, Club Level, following cruise on Fantasy! Absolute dream trip and cannot wait!! Thank you all the work you do keeping up this amazing board! Everyone here is helpful😊

:welcome: back!

That does sound like an incredible trip. I'll add you to the list.

:sail: :beach:

It was 3226. I didn’t take a picture of the view. :(. It was mostly trees. If we looked to the right, it was rooftops.

Our room was booked as a standard view. We requested and got a two queen room with a daybed.

Thanks for the info about your room.

:thumbsup2

Hi! You can add me, hubby, dd to the guest list for April 19-25 YC WV. We haven't been to DW since 2017 for my 40th. This time we'll be celebrating our 13th anniversary there and my husband's 50th! We're excited to be able to stroll around Epcot and the BW. Last time we stayed at the poly and wished were were closer to Epcot. Can't wait! Hoping to dodge love bugs too 😉. DD hates bugs.

:welcome: to the thread and congratulations on your family milestones!

I'll add you to the guest list.

I'm not sure when love bug season is. I think there are a couple of them throughout the year. My recent trip was at the tail end of one of them. It wasn't too bad for us.

Does anyone have experience getting from Beach Club to HS and Epcot on the day of the Full Marathon in January? We are coming in the night of the 11th and planned to rope drop MK on the 12th but I hear transportation there via Disney is abysmal due to road closures from the race and most likely will drop off at TTC. We opted to adjust plans and head to HS for rope drop and EMH but I have read random past reports that the walking path will be closed and boats are slow in the AM.

We need to get from Boardwalk to HS for rope drop and then make our way back to Beach Club to check in on the 12th. Anyone have experience around these resorts during this event? Thoughts/opinions?

Just got back from a wonderful 1-night stay at YC to end our “Dorian redo” trip and happy to answer any questions (though Dee covered pretty much everything a few days prior!).

Also, Dee, if you are still tracking room configurations, we were in #4223 (water view), which had 2 queens and a day bed, no tub, just a shower. It was also a connecting room.

I have run the 1/2 marathon for 14 years running [see what I did there?]. Anyway, we are always out early spectating the full, usually go to EC around 9:00 but last year ventured to HS from the BCVs. Last year was the first year where they changed the Epcot Resorts area route from YC/BC to BW. So they come down the canal and exit by Jelly Rolls past the BW. They used to go over the SD bridge and then past the YC/BC.
Our experience last year: We were able to use the pathway coming from BC to HS. I was actually surprised but I even went out of my way to ask two CMs before we began the trek. This was early, around 8:30 so the course was not congested yet.

To answer your specific question. The boats to HS will not be running until 1:00 PM. This is primarily due to the access at HS and BW. There most likely will be bus service as a replacement for no friendship boat service so I would use that. Walking is still an option but that really depends on the "current" policy in place and the CMs staffing the access. My advice would be to check with the front desk the night before to sure up your plan!

You'll have a great time regardless and we'll be there for year 15!
ETA: I didn't actually run in 2017 as the 1/2 marathon was cancelled!

Thanks! I plan to double check once we get there, but we are coming in late so I wanted to have some idea. We want to rope drop and HS is open at 8am that day so probably head out about 7:15ish. Its looking like bus, but fingers crossed maybe walk :)

Good luck with your 1/2 this year! We look forward to cheering on the runners and riding rides :)

We are currently debating between a standard room at Yacht Club or a deluxe studio at Beach Club Villas (regular Beach Club isn't available for our dates). Any advice or preferences?

We like the look of the renovated bathrooms at Yacht Club - but also love the feel of the Beach Club Villas. Really not sure which one to choose! It would be two of us (myself and BF).

We have never stayed at the YC but have had multiple stays at BC. This past summer we tried the BCV and loved the studio. So much so that we are staying there again July 2020.
We were there for 14 days so having the kitchenette was super nice, as was having the queen bed with the pullout couch. The set up of the room made it feel bigger to us. I do want to stay at the YC club one day though as I love the look of the room but we would do it on a shorter trip where we wouldn’t utilize the kitchenette much.
