We have the SD $8.99 per month version also, but I'm "firing" Netflix at the end of the year. Although Netflix has a ton of content, if we are honest, only a small percentage of it is worth watching. The loss of all Disney content, FRIENDS, and The Office is going to hurt them. I do think Netflix has quality original shows and documentaries, but as pointed out above, they make it too easy to sign up for a month, binge, and cancel. Which is how I will be watching the final season of Stranger Things.

Not the biggest shoe on Netflix but I noticed with the latest season of British Bake off now out they are only releasing on episode per week vs all at once. I wonder if Netflix will start doing that for more shows, like Stranger Things - at least then unless people want to wait they would get a few months out of people vs just one

I read an article not too long ago that Netflix is playing around with their release model for certain types of shows.

Yeah there was an article recently that Netflix has decided that for some shows starting at a certain point they won't be putting out all the episodes at once. I think Hulu started doing that as well for some shows.

I will say I think this on Netflix's part is a mistake the reason I like the service is because we can binge the series especially their original programming. Otherwise I would just wait for the DVD and not have the service at all because we don't watch everything.

I wonder if I can cancel the multi year deal I purchased through D23. It’s ridiculous that this won’t be available on the fire tv ecosystem because they won’t accept the same deal that every other streamer on amazon does. Every tv in my house is on the fire ecosystem, I don’t plan on dishing out a hundred bucks to buy roku sticks for every one.

It was known that firetv was not going to be initially supported before the d23 deal was live.

Anyone here have a Roku smart tv? I keep checking for the Disney Plus app in the "store" and don't see it yet. Maybe it's too early for the availability of the app?

We will now have YouTube TV and a Roku Stick - if we purchase, can we watch Disney + through that?

they’re doing that because the show is broadcast weekly in the UK. The US was for a while a number of seasons behind.

Although I don't believe there was anything official on that from Disney - I looked to try to find that and couldn't. I believe it was a "here are some of the places it will be available" and maybe a "stream on most devices" - it was one of the difficulties I had with pulling the trigger on the 3-year deal. Because Xbox One was on there and because I believed it would be on Fire eventually I went ahead and got the deal. There was definitely not the kind of info about the negotiations and the impasse that there is currently.

Hurrah for the Amazon deal! I'll probably wait and see if this comboes with the triple play (ESPN, Hulu, and Disney) for a deal on Veteran's Day or Black Friday...I'm willing to wait a few days to hop on to let the rush happen. If no deal, I'll probably get the triple after football season (when my Sundays are open for fun viewing:))...

For anyone looking to buy a Firestick. Best Buy will have the regular firestick for $19.99 and the 4K one for $24.99 as part of their Black Friday sale. This matches amazons price from their prime sale over the summer.

The app likely won't appear until launch day.

Yeah, I mean there's nothing you can do with it right now, and it only takes seconds to load a channel on most streaming devices. I expect we'll see the app a day or so early at the most. I know it's getting the top slot on my menu though!
