@SouthFayetteFan planning my strategy for the next 12 months. I got my CSR in October, 2016. Will it be possible...
Late 2020 will present the first opportunity (ever) to churn the CSR bonus due to the 48 month rule that was instituted in Sept 2018. Many people signed up for the CSR (and it’s widely proclaimed 100k bonus) starting in Aug 2016 when it was first released.

You will need to figure out when you earned your bonus on the CSR though. It’s not when you were approved but when the bonus points actually were awarded to your UR account. You might have to wait as long as Jan/Feb 2021 to apply again. That 48 month rule restricts you from both CSR and CSP so the date you are eligible for each card will be the same date. At that time any strategies around either (or both 😉) of these cards will be available to you.

Side note: 48 months is a REALLY long time in “churner time”...

I haven’t done a character meal in years :( I do recall reading Goofy’s had gone to having the Fab Five a while back so if still accurate you’d be covered. Plaza Inn is known for “unique” characters, I believe @wendow hit that one up on her trip earlier this year?

Also when did this become a thing?! PCH Grill’s Calitalian Dinner Buffet (no characters). Hadn’t heard about that one...

My must do is Blue Bayou but it’s not cheap. The atmosphere is just so immersive (book for lunch at 11:30pm so you can get close to the water in the first seating) I really feel like I’m at Disneyland once I’m there. My parents brought us there starting around 5yo but only you know if your kid will be good with it.

WOC dessert party is the best! It’s the only show we do because my family won’t physically stand to watch shows and a couple of us have crowd issues anyway. I hear SWL is a nice place to see fireworks if you don’t care about projections and music. I’ve also heard Rancho del Zocalo is nice to sit down and enjoy fireworks from (no projection view).
I think Blue Bayou sounds interesting but looks dark in there. Looking at the menu, I don’t see anything I’m really interested in like a $29 sandwich or $36 jambalaya. I’m thinking we’ll pass on that.
Went by Staples today and picked up a $50 Disney GC! No variable load and I didn’t want to get $100. I had an offer specifically for double cash back today that I had to add- did you have that?
I was so bummed there was nothing good on DHs card. He had air bnb, Hotel tonight and ADT security. Bleh.
We did do plaza inn! We met Minnie, Pooh, Eeyore, chip, dale, Rafiki, Captain Hook, geppetto and Max. Our complaint was that we were at a later breakfast time and they tried to rush us plus they sat us outside and the characters didn’t cone to us. We had to go ask several times if they could send them out to us. There was one other party outside (also had 4 kids) and everyone else was inside. The characters just seemed to be focused on inside guests. So that was disappointing but we would still do the breakfast again. Just an earlier time!
That’s too bad. I hate to see kids disappointed. DS likes Minnie, Chip and Dale, maybe Rafiki but he wouldn’t be interested in any of the others especially Pooh who he thinks is just for babies.

I can wait -- I am a very patient, goal-oriented individual! If I know it will be available to me then I will plan my strategy accordingly. Hyatt card drops off in July, 2020 which will leave me the spots I need. I will be looking at AmEx business cards while I wait out Chase lol.

I'm right there with you. I'm starting to plan meals now and 1-2 ADRs seems about perfect for my crew. From what I've read, I think Cafe Orleans and a gluten free Monte Cristo is a must.

My biggest hold up is the boy who's diet currently consists of taquitos, mini tacos, Amy's frozen enchiladas and Chipotle. This kid may just starve.

We have really enjoyed Cafe Orleans, as well as Blue Bayou (but overpriced) and also Carnation Cafe (fun location). It's been a few years but there was a Mexican QS place somewhere near Frontierland and also Tortilla Joe's in DTD (but I'm not sure if it's still there now) just in case your boy thinks he is starving. Oh, and Whitewater Snacks at the GCH makes some decent nachos.

Thought you guys might get a chuckle or at least a smirk out of this. Just scheduled my first mortgage payment through Plastiq to finish off MSR and literally my palms are sweating. I’ve never paid my mortgage through another method other than direct transfer, let alone with my credit card :scared1:

I’m sure I have nothing to worry about, but man my pulse is elevated 😂

Which hotel are you staying at? Is it your first time at Universal?
We stayed at RPR for two nights and SF for tonight. I’ve been to universal 4 times now. All have been at RPR only or SF split stays with RPR. It is my first time during a busy time. I didn’t realize DS’s college Fall break corresponded with Columbus Day and a lot of fall breaks. My other visits were in September, end of October, and first week of December. All of those were super slow.

Well we had a full morning/afternoon and I’m exhausted. We went to the Vineland outlets first. They opened at 10 and we got to the character warehouse at 10:30. It was packed! We waited 40 minutes to check out.

We then went to Epcot for our lunch at Le Cellier and omg was that delicious!!! I’m gonna write a full review later but the mushroom risotto that comes with the filet is amazing. We used those AP gcs (10 of them=$100). The waitress was really happy we had them printed out for her. We paid $30 for our meal +tip. I’d say that’s pretty good! We also picked up our Minnie coasters.

Then we went to Ikea and bought our crib. It just barely fit in my car. The last thing we did was the other outlet but they didn’t have much so we left right away.
Mine actually wasn’t great but I still ate most of it. I ordered it medium well and it had a char on it which I don’t like. Dh got his medium and said his was delicious. He tried mine and said they tasted completely different.
Sorry your filet did not taste right, but I am so glad you enjoyed Le Cellier overall!
