Can anyone at Disneyland right now report crowd levels for this week? :) (any days between 10/5/19 through 10/13/19)

Holy smokes the Tom Sawyer line!!!

Do y’all think it will be any better Monday and Tuesday of next week? We are driving in from San Diego early Monday morning to make rope drop and we are staying just one night at the DLH because my mom is here and has never been to Disneyland. Now I’m worried! But at least we can rope drop and then swim at the hotel when it warms up and it’s crazy crowded!

Was today the only day they have off this week? If so, maybe there’s hope for everyone the rest of the week! I will say that my very unscientific observation today was I saw a ton of out-of-towers and people who were visiting the parks for the first time.

Yes, today was the only day off for LAUSD in October. Any time school's out but the APs aren't blocked is busy...but this looks particularly crazy.

I expect it to be busy next week but not as busy as this week (fingers crossed as I arrive on Sunday). None of the big southern California school districts have Monday off, but some northern California ones do.

As for out-of-staters, Arizona's big districts (Mesa, Phoenix Union, Tucson Unified) are all out this week, the 7th-11th. Washoe County in Nevada is also out (the other big Nevada districts don't have a fall break).

The vast majority of Utah schools will close the 17th and 18th. But, of course, the entire state of Utah has only a few thousand more students than the LAUSD.

Here’s hoping we both see much lower crowds than this week! Mental note to always check fall break schedules.... we don’t get a fall break so I always completely forget about them!

Concurring with everyone else - it’s been packed! Touring Plans reported yesterday (10/9) they were expecting crowd level 3 at both parks but saw 7 at DL and 10 at DCA. Hoping today will be slightly better. This visit for us is part of a wider US holiday so difficult to change dates for us. We have been similar times in previous years and has always been busy.

Monday was quite crowded as well. My younger kids (NorCal) have fall break this week and next and they were here with me Monday.

I am in Anaheim for work now and went into the park last night after dinner and it was still pretty crazy. I wanted to ride HMH again but missed my chance to ride while F! was running. I rode POTC and was hoping to be done with that before F! ended but instead walked off just after it ended and there were already hordes of people pouring into the HMH queue. Wait time quickly went up to around 60min and stayed there. I kept trying to grab a cancelled MP but no luck- saw MPs come up for every other ride except Matterhorn and HMH so even late in the evening this is still a viable technique.

I went over to Galaxy’s Edge to wander around instead. It wasn’t too crazy back there. Single Rider for MF:SR took about 20min (regular posted wait was only 35min but the line was backed up into the plaza in front of the falcon so I’m not sure that was accurate. We rode with a shorter line than that on Monday and the wait was 50 min).

I was surprised to see F! running again when I exited SWGE- I never got that already in the app.

My husband and I went for a date night there last night. It was very crowded. When we heard the announcement for the extra Fantasmic showing I was surprised because I'd never experienced that before. But it made perfect sense because it was just so crowded. Later at California Adventure the line for Monsters After Dark was two and a half hours at one point.

Based on wait times on the app, today looks waaay better than yesterday. Still crowded, but more “normal crowded” than “crazy crowded.” Can anyone who’s been there this week confirm?

We were there this morning, and it was way better than yesterday. Things were picking up a bit, but it wasn’t too bad. We had a good time yesterday, but it was definitely more work than on less crowded days. We have AP’s with Maxpass, and rely heavily on that and mobile ordering when things are busy. Having the app down put a damper on things, and when it was finally working again a lot of the fast passes were gone for the day.

I got curious so I looked some more and it seems pretty much all of Washington and Oregon have off tomorrow, the 11th. Monterey has this whole week off.

The Bay Area mostly just has Monday the 14th for Indigenous Peoples Day.

The upshot is that this week has the vast majority of school breaks in the West, and notably that killer day off for Los Angeles on Wednesday. Next week there are far fewer days with no school.

I live on the East Coast and fall breaks aren't a thing around here, but many/most schools in the East do have Monday off for Columbus Day. So we think of next week as the busy week...seems out West this first full week might be the real one to avoid.

We popped over to have dinner at Uva Bar last night. Got there around 6:30. Wait was about 20-30 minutes so DH checked Open Table to see if Catal was available. It was - he booked a 6:45 reservation and we checked in right away and were seated in about 5 minutes. The place was pretty full and one table next to us was seated, got waters and never got their order taken, so they left. (our service was fine and our roast chicken was delicious!)

Most of the restaurants in DTD had sizeable lines and there were a lot of people walking around.

After dinner, I wanted to hit up Marceline's for a treat. Pulled #13 as they called #97, so we headed into DCA instead. The line for Trolley Treats was the longest I've seen in quite a while, but it went quickly and is much more organized than Marceline's (where everybody just stands around). On our way back to our car, we noticed that Marceline's was now on #57. o_O

Yesterday was the worst day I have had at Disneyland. I don’t want to dwell on it; overall, we have had a good vacation and have 2 1/2 more days here, but yesterday was tough due to the crowds and some inopportune ride break downs. I have never been at the park where crowds were so bad that my kids asked if we could leave for the day.

Ride breakdowns have been a bummer this week and maybe just unlucky on my part. Yesterday, we were walked out of Indy before we got on the ride and given a replacement pass. We used that on Space Mountain in the evening and it broke down and they had to come get us off the tracks (we were in tunnel by the end). At that point, the kids felt we were cursed so we rode Star Tours and left the park.

Today has been busy but more manageable with our magic morning start. Before lunch, we did Space, Matterhorn, splash, big thunder and had 11:00am FP for Indy. We had another problem there; this time we were about to get on after using our FP and they shut it down at 11:26am. They gave us a replacement pass, but somehow it only showed up for one of us. We had lunch reservations at noon, but went to guest relations after and they gave us 4 new Indy passes, but it is still shut down. Most of the major rides right now are 60 minutes plus, so we went back to the hotel (space is 90, Matterhorn, Haunted and Splash 85).

We will head back tonight; we have haunted FP at 5 and dinner res at 5:30pm and Oga’s at 9:15pm. Fingers crossed that Indy is back up tonight. Anyway, we are having fun with a few struggles. Just wanted to give an update.

We spoke to a number of employees and their daily attendance estimates are getting blown away this week. I think one said that they were 12,000 over estimate yesterday. I was kind of listening as my wife was talking and not sure if that is correct.

Has Indy been running at all today? Every time I've checked it's been down.
It was open at 8:56 am when we got the FP And 11:00 when we entered the line; not sure about rest of the morning, but it went down around 11:30am

i hope the rest of your trip is better! Yesterday was such an anomaly with crowds.

I was at DLP last night too, and I was caught off guard by the 10:30 PM showing - I thought I only saw a 9 PM showing on the app and website when I checked earlier in the week, and was surprised when I saw it playing when I walked over to HMH towards park close. Did you have the same experience as me? Is it possible they added the late showing of F! sometime this week?

Apparently they added it yesterday during the day. Earlier in this thread someone posted a screenshot of the app with a message about the added performance. They posted around 5pm. I never saw the notice in the app but I wasn’t on it until later in the evening. I’ve never heard of them doing a same day added performance before. Crazy!

Thanks for the confirmation - I thought I was going crazy! Wow, that's incredible that they added it that night - I've never heard of that either! I didn't get there until later in the evening (and thus wasn't checking the app until then) so I wouldn't have gotten the notification. I thought the crowds for the 10:30 PM showing looked very light, particularly for how slammed the park was - maybe many others didn't realize there was a later show added as well? I watched the 9 PM showing but would have watched the 10:30 PM one had I known there would be one!

Hello!

We are in Arizona and this is fall break week for my kiddos here. I've been nervous to go to DL on fall break, because I've head it can be crazy due to the masses of Phx people headed in. Can anyone there this week maybe any days 10-5-19 through 10-13-19 report on how crowd levels have been? If it's manageable, we're going next year during fall break to see the amazing Halloween decorations! Thank you so much!!!
This particular week next October will also be busy for AZ & UT fall breaks. We've been to DL before at this same time of year. It WAS busy. BUT if you get to the parks each day at rope drop, you can still have a fabulous time. And spend the extra $$ for Max Pass.

Yes, plan to be at rope drop, use Maxpass and parkhoppers, book a late breakfast or early lunch at Carnation Cafe, or any other dining you have wanted to try. You will be getting out of the heat (sometimes the weather is warmer than AZ) and the crowds. If you don't head back to your hotel for a nap, (or to catch a ball game or two on the TV), go to Animation Academy to relax and learn how to draw some of the characters.

Today is Friday and they ran out of all fast passes in DL before 6:30 when I checked.
That’s being said with early morning hours and good use of Maxpass, we have actually be able to do a lot!
