Do I need to factor velocity in to getting a Chase checking acct? Or can I go for that bank bonus whenever?

I'm updating my support links today and found the landing page for Cap1 cc link generation here . I had thought it was only if you got an email... Worth checking to see if you can generate a link if you have any of these: Quicksilver, Venture, VentureOne, Savor, SavorOne . I don't see any others on DISchurners for Venture and I know we have some people here with Venture cards. The offer through the link is the same as the public one from what I can tell on that card (always watch out for that, esp with Cap1, their banking support links offer horrible deals and I can see from DoC their cc links can be similar).

Oh dang. I missed the fun. Dd3 was sick yesterday and very clingy.

C&P'd this so I wouldn't have to go back and find the original.
I read the entire thread and the best part were the links that it provided with info on gondolas.

Because of my aversion to heights - I still remember the much shorter sky ride in MK from my 1988 visit and how petrified I was when I got on it - I probably will not ride the gondola. That said, if it's safe, I think it's a great addition for transportation for others, who don't have height issues. I enjoyed reading a lot of the posts.

However, it seemed to me that the moderator shut it down for no really good reason, other than maybe he was tired of it. He/she was continuously posting his own thoughts on the subject repeatedly. And at shutdown, it was, 'give it a rest and we'll come back when we know more'.

There is another thread but I'm not so interested that I want to wade through it. Just surprised that this particular thread was closed as I think we might have seen more posts from actual riders in a few days.
It did seem very arbitrary that it was closed but that’s how that forum is run. Once it was clear there were no injuries, it was kind of fun and entertaining all the back and forth. I know the mod says no human error but the liftblog I read seems to support that it is. We rode gondolas and ski lifts this summer in Germany and they were a nerve-inducing highlight. We don’t ski, have never even been in ski weather but I was looking forward to trying Disney’s in the cooler months. I still don’t completely trust that the temps will be comfortable.

Thanks guys. I was actually out of town at a gig when it happened so it was crazy to hear about it over the phone. I got a text from my wife that literally said. "Ran my arm over with my car. Car is wrecked. Ouch" with a picture of her in the back of an ambulance (she does have a great sense of humor). She had gotten all the way out of the car to see what she hit and it was going to quickly for her to jump in so she tried to dive in to push the break with her hand. The door knocked her over and the tire went over her arm. Our kids were in the back of the car. DD8 jumped out while the car was in reverse and turning towards the house (DD10 stayed in the car til it hit the tree). So yeah. This could have gone worse in so many ways and we are counting our blessings. We are so grateful things turned out the way they did. I hope my previous message about the MSR didn't make me seem like an insensitive selfish jerk. She was actually excited yesterday to bring up the points and meeting MSRs were as a silver lining. She is amazing and besides a sore and very black and blue arm things are kind of back to normal already.
I don’t think you were insensitive. You probably did what many here would have thought to do. Maybe some people would have opened a whole new card for this! Very glad she’s okay.

oh this was SO me back when I used to ski with my family...... I used to get anxiety building up... 'we're gonna drop,we're gonna freeze to death b/c we stopped, this is too high, someones gonna fall out and die'..... I quit skiing b/c of the stress....
Years ago, we were riding the lifts up and we stopped and were stuck for a few mins. The little boy behind us got squirmy and fell out of the chair lift. His mom was stuck up in the lift freaking out and screaming for help. They brought in emergency ski patrol and put him on one of the toboggan things to take him down. And eventually got us going so mom could go with her child. It was scary and I just felt so awful for the poor child and mom :( Skiing stressed me out too. There were lots of reasons but I really just don't enjoy it. Then I tore my ACL snowboarding...I pretty much gave up after that.

If you fly Southwest regularly and your pacing allows for a card now I would absolutely grab the SW performance biz now. The 80k offer is excellent, and provides great value and obviously is reportedly going away. And then I’d make sure to delay the bonus to post in Jan even if CP isn’t on somebody’s radar right now. It would provide the opportunity to earn the CP at any time in 2020 then if it becomes a good strategy.

I just don’t think anybody will regret getting that card and 80k SW points.
Eek... I'm SO tempted on applying for one since my CP ended in 2018 and I miss it dearly. I haven't been spending as much lately as we have been saving much more than usual. I'm afraid I won't hit the 5k MSR + $199 AF. I've had the CSR for 2 years now (going on 3 in November) so I'm seriously thinking about cancelling the CSR and going with this card instead. I'm going to miss the lounges so much :sad1:

Oh man, wish I had known this back before I got mine so I could've supported someone! Good to know though, I'll add one to Dischurners tonight.

@speedyfishy, @DisneyMandC - or anyone else who might know - do you have to go online and set up a pin for Meta giftccards (Visa) or is it defaulted to the last 4 digits of the giftcard number? I'd rather not reset them if I don't have to. TIA!

I see @speedyfishy just posted that it is the last 4. I think Meta might say it on the back of the package, but can't remember.

Interesting. I plan on PCing soon. Will have to remember this. So it doesn’t work electronically either? May move up my PC date so I know I will have card when I need it.

I don't think @amalone1013 was told to wait 3 weeks, i think it just got sent. I'd just tell them you have a trip coming up and you need it in the initial sm. I had plenty of time so I didn't need to push back to get it sooner.

Hey guys - there's a thread just started on the discount board that I'd imagine somebody here could help out with. (quoted and linked below).

I know leaving our CC thread can expose to the scary other parts of the DIS but can somebody who booked one of these Delta trips help @Theta our with any guidance. I'm not sure they can actually do what they're trying to do but I did not follow the Disney with Delta points plan closely enough to provide actual guidance here. Since we're the most helpful group on the DIS, it seems like this could be a job for us. 😉

My husband bought a Delta Vacations Disney package using his Skymiles points that include room, flights and park tickets. He bought it a last month, but now Disney has reduced rooms rates out for February. The package he bought has the rooms at rack rate.

Is there anyway we can get the package repriced with the reduced room rates. The Beach Club room that is included in our package is about $100 less per night.

I called Delta Vacations and they told me the change fee would be $1700 to reprice it. Doesn't seem right to me, but she said the problem lies in the nonrefundable Disney flex park tickets. She said if I cancel the package, I would lose the park tickets (since they were nonrefundable) and have to pay the $200 change fee for our flights.

Any suggestiosns?

In addition the venmo question, if I apply for a new Chase biz card, do they care about credit limits like the personal cards do? Is there a minimum line you can have on a CIP?

I just did my first Serve load this morning. It was way easier than I would have thought. MS here I come :D

I went to the Wal Mart by my work at lunch to buy the new illustrated Harry Potter book. Figured I'd load my Serve card while I was there. Well, that was a fail. The HP book was $5 more there than it was on Amazon with next day shipping, and the checkout lines were insane!! Who are all these people doing huge grocery shopping trips at 12:30 on a Tuesday? They probably had 6 different checkout lanes open in addition to self-checkout, and every one of them had 2-3 people in it. Taking the dog to the vet at 5 today so no time to run by tonight. I really need to order DH's Serve card too.

Loaded my Serve card for the first time last week at Wal Mart...found the money center was quicker
