is this her first individual card ? If so I have read that Chase likes to see a year of credit history

She has been an AU on our Chase Freedom card for about 4 years or so, but this is her first card she's applied for on her own.

Thanks. I think that is a little more than I was thinking. It's his leadership teacher who is charge of the club and it is just for fun. They did start going a golf club which is neat.
I'd still probably ask the teacher what type of clubs they'll focus on. There are multiple piece sets from 6-15 clubs. Even on a cheap set I'd hate to buy 15 clubs and they typically only use 6-9 of them. Also I'm sure he or she could recommend an economical brand. While you don't need all the bells and whistles to learn, the materials of the club will change your performance and I imagine can change your technique. You don't want to unlearn a swing that developed to match the equipment you were using.

I say this not being a golfer ( but knowing a few) but I do know from other sports that are equipment dependent, the equipment really can change your play. I definitely think you can find what you're looking for in a reasonable price range, especially if you go somewhere that knows about the sport (and is not on commission :p ) but it helps to have something in mind when you talk to the sales rep. If it's something he likes this will not be his last set of clubs. If he keeps growing, probably won't even be last set during school.

hmmm my staples offer shows on my Amex account, but the same day I did the Mobil speedpass option with the linked card and nothing..... is it b/c I used the app? terms say linked card thru app works..... anyone else not have it triggered?

It works. Give it a few more days.

Question, I have this offer on one Amex card. Would this work for Disney GC at Staples? Not trying to meet any MSR.

Get 35% back as a statement credit by using your enrolled Business Card to make purchases at select US office supply stores by 12/31/2019. Limit of $40 in total statement credits. See terms for exclusions.

Thanks! I do know he needs a driver and punter but that is where my knowledge of anything golf related ends. I'll reach out to his teacher.

Does anyone else find that they still strictly use some of their store cards with certain retailers? I always use Target, Macy's, and Kohl's.
I've been bad about it lately, most of the time I've been to Target and Kohl's lately I've had an MSR to meet so MSR points>5% at Target (don't hit Kohl's very often). Hence why Target is threatening to close my card lol.

HAHA this makes me laugh, but I do love Reese's! The eggs at Easter are my favorite, then the trees at Christmas. The chocolate to peanut butter ratio is 🔥🔥🔥 Pumpkins and hearts are just ok. I also LOVE the minis that come in a bag and are not individually wrapped (@wendow please don't judge 🤣)
I totally agree that the holiday Recees are better, more PB to chocolate ratio. Although I haven't ranked them by holiday... yet!!!

Man, I overslept today. I don't even know the last time that happened. 50 min from waking up to being at work :crazy2:
I was supposed to take DS to school this morning until DH decides at 4:30 am he is taking the day off. So I then had to rush to get ready and made it in at 6:15 am instead of my usual 6:00 am. I have a 45 min commute on a good day.

Yup, that should work!

Oh no! I was shocked I made it right on time (really 15min late, but we tend to fudge that a bit... usually do 10min before the hour though). Woke to DHs call at 6:10am and made it in at 7am. There wasn't nearly as much traffic is normal for some reason.

I was away for the weekend (got to visit with BOTH my college boys!) so I’m crazy behind reading, but wanted to say...what a pleasure it was to come home, log on to Chase and see my UR’s significantly higher from those great 5x points on the CIC at office supply stores!
I need to have P2 call in and PC his CIP.....

@CaliforniaGirl09 - you just missed the dispodcast ABD— we are on the Eurostar now headed to Paris and DLP.

Have a great time and say "hi" to Jennae. She and Jason were our first ABD guides way back in 2006/2007 for the Emerald Aisle.

@SouthFayetteFan or any other golfers- Any suggestions for a good starter set of clubs for DS12? He has joined the golf club at school and we are not golfers. Clearly we do not want to spend a lot since who knows if he will stick to it.

We all play golf and my kids have been playing since they were about 4-5. There is a company that makes kids clubs that will have appropriately sized clubs. We bought ours through a CC, but I think they are available all over. You can probably find them used as well. You could also go to GolfMart or someplace like that and have him sized and they can look out for used clubs for you as well. I'm in the UK right now so google isn't pulling the company up for me.

Man that skyliner thread popcorn::

ETA: Aaaaand it’s no longer a thread
Now I have to go find it. I should have realized there would be a good thread going! I love that popcorn :)

Not sure if anything else came out today, but new AmEx offer for Caesars properties in Vegas:

Spend $200+ get $40 back, valid from 10/7/19 through 1/18/20.
Offer valid only at Caesars Palace, NOBU Hotel at Caesars Palace, Caesars Suites, Bally's Las Vegas, The Cromwell, Flamingo Las Vegas, Harrah's Las Vegas, LINQ Hotel & Casino, Paris Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood Resort, and Rio All-Suite Las Vegas.

Was more hoping for an AC offer. While we have the SW CP and all, an hour and a half drive beats a 4 hour plane ride.

They wasted that offer on me also. I ran off looking for @elgerber 's offer of 35% at Staples but no go.
