*****Official April 2020 thread*****

Has anyone else noticed that the hours so far in April seem really limited? Is this normal for this time of year? The park seems to be closing at 9pm? Thanks.

I haven't looked yet for the hours in April. I will say that the hours were close to what you describe at this time last year for this past April, and then changed about, oh, if I recall six weeks - eight weeks out? I went to WDW this April 2019, so speaking from that experience. The hours did change. Don't worry yet :) Of course, there will be some things going on in HS again potentially with when the Rise of the Resistance and the Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railroad rides open, wonder how that will affect the hours and for how long, will it be into April? Will the MMRR be open when I go (I'm betting not)? We'll see. It'll decide my park strategy for HS, that's for sure. On that note, I hope the MK train will be open, I missed it last April and I love that ride, it was down then. Sounds like a long downtime, not sure if Tron going into MK is delaying the reopening or if this was the anticipated length, I don't see a hard reopening date on it.

Thank you! It's hard to find this info sometimes and the schedules of releasing aren't very consistent...I've never flown Frontier and I see really mixed things about them, but wanted to check them out as well!
I know that frontier is booking through 4/22 now. I don't really track when they release new dates but I am thinking the rest of April will be towards the end of October. They are the only airline that flies direct to MCO from where we live so I bought the tickets down and am waiting to but the tickets back.

I'm in as well. It's going to be me, DW, DMIL, DD(9) and DS(6). The last time we went was in 2006 before I was married. I'm on the DIS to try to figure out how best to see as much as possible and keep our sanity. It was this or the summer of 2020 and I wanted the cooler weather and our trip is from 4/16-4/24.
I was able to get all 5 of us into CBR using the discounts today. I was able to add another night and upgrade the room type and still save aver $200.

I noticed as I was using last year's hours to track and plan against, and now the Touring Plan reported hours have updated and the parks are closing 8 or 9p. But the official WDW calendar doesn't show past April 2nd yet.

I like to look at kennythepirate.com for crowd calendars.

Disney will post probably soon park hours past 2 April, and also believe change their park hours later to some degree for April. I suspect it will be in Feb. Let's all watch and see when these hours post, and then, when they change. Curious to follow when they post DAH-HS, so if anyone on here sees that, please share. I don't think we'll go with it since we are doing six day salute park hoppers, but I still like to follow news releases.

Due to a weird glitch on the Disney site, we have an awesome deal for April :)
Staying at AoA LM room 19th-23rd :D

Will there be a list of who is going (with date and resort)?

Believe this is my first time posting on the Dis, but happy to be here! My DH, DD (10), and DS (7) will be camping at Fort Wilderness for Spring break from April 4-12. We have 5-day park hopper passes to enjoy both time at the parks and at the campground, but may end up upgrading to 6-day passes when we get there. We also have the dining plan. We camp in our travel trailer quite a bit throughout the year and normally cook, but booked the dining plan to make Disney feel more like an “all-inclusive” vacation. I’ll be up bright and early on Monday, Oct 7th to make initial ADRs. Our last trip to Disney (and the Fort) was June 2016 and we’d like to try some restaurants we haven’t tried before. Right now I really want to reserve the following:

- California Grill dinner
- PPO Akershus Breakfast
- Storybrook Dining for the night we check in
- Ohana dinner

Others I am not as excited about:
- Via Napoli for my pizza loving DS
- Mama Melrose
- Yak & Yeti
- BOG lunch or PPO breakfast
- Grand Floridian Cafe
- potentially Cape May Cafe or the Wave

I also need an option. For Disney Springs, but can’t decide where.

Hi everyone. I’m joining the April 2020 fun! We’ll be there April 10-17. It will be me, DH, DS (5, almost 6) and DD who will have just turned 4. This will be my first trip using my very own DVC points! We’re staying 10-14 in a studio at BWV and 14-17 in a 1 bedroom at BLT.

I know it will be crowded due to Easter but I’m guessing it’s no worse than Christmas week. I’m a teacher so I’m almost always traveling to WDW during peak times.

I haven’t been to WDW for Easter since I was 5 (my very first trip in 1988!). I definitely want to do as many Easter related activities as possible. Right now I’m trying to figure out what we should do on Easter Sunday. I want to do some resort activities in the morning but then I’m not really sure. I saw that Maria & Enzo’s had an Easter brunch with the Easter Bunny last year. I think my kids would enjoy that. I am welcome to all suggestions!

We’ll be getting my daughter’s first haircut on this trip. I’m also thinking about trying the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise which we’ve never done. I like to do as many new things as possible on each of our trips.

I look forward to reading about everyone’s plans!

Trying to plan dinners, but also curious about fireworks and nighttime shows to make sure we are in the right parks. When do they release the firework/parade schedules?

Hi all! We're staying at Beach Club Villas 4/26-5/2 for DS2 first trip!! I think I've got everything planned out, now just to get those ADRs at the end of this month. We're planning on 4 character meals and hopeful for BOG lunch. I think the thing I'm most excited for it the little orange bird cup from Flower and Garden ::yes:: other than that I'm just so excited to be going back after a few years.

Yesterday I checked Allegiant and flights had gone down from $255 to $196, so we booked that for all six of us! Have to change our trip to Friday-Friday instead of Saturday-Saturday, but worth it!

I've been watching flight prices/points for SW to MCO during our travel time, but they haven't moved, in fact they've gone up. I'm already reserved, but last year I had booked (I check back on the site for price changes throughout until travel), then a week and a half later the points values dropped and I was able to get that back to my SW account. After that drop, everything for that timeframe went up and stayed up and never dropped again. This year, I'm not seeing it happen, no drop :(

Does Southwest just put the difference towards your "travel funds" for future travel within one year if you can book for a cheaper fare? The problem with that is we don't all fly enough to be sure that we will actually be able to use those travel funds.

There's no change fee so that's good. I heard they do this for the difference if the ticket were purchased with $, for the points they just refunded my points to the Rapid Rewards account.

Hey! Joining the April 2020 crew!

Me, DH & DD booked for 14 fabulous nights at the All Stars Music 11-26 April. First timers for April normally go Oct as we love Halloween but DD now in secondary school so not taking her out of school this time.
We will be celebrating both mine and DH 50th birthday! :dogdance:

That's a long break! Our school break is six non-school weekdays, throw in the weekends.

Planning a short girls trip. We are booked at Pop for April 27 - May 1. It's only the second time I've gone in April. It's hotter than I like, but we will power through.

6 months from today, we will be checking in! Making ADRs this week; split stay so 2 dates. Have enough "free money" from Disney Visa rewards and a gift card offer to make 1 ADR for a character meal; the DGDs want either Chef Mickey or 1900 PF - they will make the decision.
