Rookie churning mistake of the day: helped my Mom calculate her spend on her Delta Biz last week and she's been watching for bonus points. Been a week and no points (DL's are very fast bonuses if you haven't been screwed over by Amex) so I went back through- I calculated the AF as part of the spend. So 101 I can't even. (At least she's still got a couple months so nbd!) DOUBLE CHECK YOUR MATH FOLKS. EVEN YOU CHURNING VETS!
This might be shunnable offense... your own mother????

I have one more month to pay on our last car that has a car payment. Plan on driving them til they die and hopefully saving up enough cash for the next one. But I also plan on it being fully loaded, I deserve it at this point in my life. :rotfl2: This week I took my parent's car to drop them off at the airport and my mom let me know that I could feel free to drive it while they were away. Me: No nav, and I have to manually move my seat?!? I'll stick with my car. :D

Yup, I bought my current car with no bells and whistles after having it all on my last car, and I regret it. I actually do really miss having a sunroof and heated seats and climate control, and won’t skimp on that for my next car. Which is still a long way away since my car only has 125k miles lol

....and DS got approved for CIP!!! :cool1: unlike my other ds, he's super excited to get the card and start on his MSR....he wants to be able to travel with his friends! My other DS feels that cc's are from the devil and only has his one card b/c I made him get it when he started out on his own... how can two kids be so different???
My sister and I. Me: 29 cc’s. My sister has a couple but she and her DH use debit only. She had a Discover a few years ago and was happy with the cash back until her DH forgot to pay the bill. Plus he gets really stressed seeing the total at the end of the month but paying more than once a month or autopay aren’t options for him. My sister sees it as too much work for her to pay the bills herself. :sad2: My BIL is just a dolt. He has an international business trip coming up in November, he has known about it for over 6 months. I offered him a free GE credit I have on a cc, but he can’t be bothered to sign up. Ugh.
For anyone who has a BoA card with offers, I have one for double cash back on dining and retail offers good on 10/12 only. I have the 10% back at Staples offer, so I'm going to hold that offer until 10/12 to get 20% back :)
Thanks! I have really crap offers on my BOA card right now,but I’ll keep checking.
So I ask this question in the sincere hope that I will not actually need to exercise this option...

We found out yesterday that DH is going to need a new-to-us car soon due to some issues with his. We will buy used. I am hoping I will not need to get a car loan, but in the event that I do, will getting new CCs make any difference in my ability to get one (other than a couple point hit to credit score)? I've never had to get a car loan before so I wasn't sure what they look for. Obviously, credit scores are excellent.
The credit union questioned my multiple cards but approved me anyway. Financing through dealership didn’t bat an eye.
Binder clips and even paper clips also work. I almost always have those in my bag.
I have those springy wire clips from dollar store. Multi purpose: chips clips, curtains, hanging clothes, etc. Best deal ever at 6/$1

A sunroof was my non negotiable when I got my car and part of the reason I ended up with a new one...

HAHA it isn't necessarily the type of car. I have a lease so I always have a car payment 🤣

Oh man, I wish! But I would not have broadcasted it online :car:

You are not alone..my DH wants a new car every 3 years, so his car is leased....and we argue every 3 years on what is a reasonable monthly payment......mine I buy and drive until it dies...

I knew that would be the consensus based on all the talk of miles, ages, and features of cars!

I will be trading my 2018 in next year :rolleyes1

Did you lease a loaded model of whatever kind of car it is or a basic model? I ask because I bought a year old leased jeep and still have it. It's been a great vehicle with few and minor problems. All that said, I was never 100% satisfied because - no bells and whistles! Prior I had cars with all the extras and I missed heated leather seats amongst other options. Next new vehicle will be loaded as I want all the new tech.

Yay! I like that all I do is an oil change and tire rotation for service and wash my hands of it.

I will admit, I need to have certain features. AWD, backup sensor and camera (now required by law, BUT not always!), blind spot system, remote start, and heated seats are very important to me.

I put an award flight (just to SNA) on hold with American Airlines

If I go ahead and book it there are some small fees to be paid. Does it matter if I pay those with the Citi AA card or the Amex Hilton Biz? (I am working on finishing an MSR for a CIP and just started on the Amex Hilton Biz, but it's such a tiny amount....) We won't have any checked bags and I am unsure whether either card would have any benefit, or if there are even any benefits to be had on such a short hop.

Any advice is appreciated!
Soooo, no advice for this noob on this fast moving thread? :rolleyes1

It doesn't matter. Some people always default to a card with great trip insurance like the CSR. Honestly I'd probably use the American card if you have it. Then if you do need a bag it's covered.

Wish I could help...but I’ve never flown AA...just a SW girl

Thanks ladies! I'm only concerned about missing some benefit that I don't know I have, but I don't really have a premium travel card of any sort (yet) so I don't even know what the options are.

It's like $22 so not a deal breaker in any direction.

I'm trying to remember the last time I was on a plane. Oh! It was a year ago when I went to Japan! Prior to that, it had been at least two years!

Hi! Lurker coming out with question.

I saw this mentioned earlier and would appreciate some advice.

DH and I both approved for 1st Citi AA biz last week. Haven’t even received the cards yet. I saw the bonus is now up to 75k/$5000. We got 60k/$3000.

Do I dare CALL or just use SM to ask for a match? These are our first Citi cards so I feel ok about calling, but thought I would ask first.

Thanks for any help.

for me..the heated seats are non negotiable...and I’m picky on color..black interior and exterior or maybe, white exterior
Yes on heated seats. Interior never black and never leather. Too dang hot in summer. Currently have grey interior.
I’m so weird. I have never used mine. Don’t get them at all. I think this stems from sitting in the tiny back seat of my dad’s convertible as a kid. I need a roof and it needs to be closed!
Yeah I have a huge sun roof (over front and back seats) and never use it. Just don’t like the sun beating down on my head or blinding me. I’ve used the sunroof maybe twice. The last time, I forgot to close it and...it rained.

Actually you get a free bag with AA even if you don’t use the card.

I'm picky on color too... I like white, black, silver, gray... that's about it. I just have no desire for the colors personally. I am very happy with my blizzard pearl 😍

Ha! And I've never had a vehicle without one so it's a way of life for me. Dh doesnt get it either

I used my Hilton Card recently because I have an airline credit on it. CSR also works. Since AA cards usually give only 2x points for AA flights, any card you’re working on MSR is fine.

Sadly we didn’t make it to the Churchill War Rooms because my +*^%#}! husband didn’t listen (as usual), got directions to the main Imperial War Museum and when he found that out the only pertinent information he obtained was “it’s 20 min away” vice actually receiving directions. Since our tickets would expire by the time I strangled him and gotten accurate directions sadly no visit. I guess next time I’m in London...sigh...

ETa- no husbands were harmed in the making of this post, promise.

I'm so sorry you missed it. I know you were looking forward to it. :( But there is always next time, and with your travels I bet there will be a next time in the not-too-distant future. I'm glad your DH wasn't harmed. :)

I'm the same. I always thought it would be cool, then never used it. In fact, I recently told DH I didn't think my car even had one... and it does. :rotfl: I've been driving it for more than ten years, and just forgot because I never use it.
