DoC's take on the new DL offers.

Anyone having luck with support links? I have a DL personal I can get the new offers to pull up on (for 10k link bonus), but the DL biz and Biz Plat are both still pulling old offers and the DL personal is saying only 5k link bonus. I'm thinking I just need to wait for the system to get it rolled out to everyone?

Ugh we were looking at dcl for early March 2021. We’ve never cruised before with dcl, so I have a request for quotes in.

I was looking at a 7 night on the fantasy or a 4 night on the dream. How bad is the price gonna make me want to puke?
Go to the Disney Cruise Blog and look at the prices from yesterday to get an idea. A 7nt for adults was pricing at $3800 yesterday. Prices will have gone up since then.

Are you sure? Prices tend to go up from Platinum booking to gold only for mis-priced (which is rare these days) or very in demand itineraries (like British Isles).

Taking mine from aug back at the end of the month. Only got one refill but used it to.hold the free popcorn at vah. I'd take my mug back too if I could...

No mickey bars for me this trip, not paying that much. And for the price of the pretzels I'll go to baseline taphouse at dhs to get one. It's better, huge and comes with cheese.

We only get Mickey bars on the ship where it’s included.

I wanted to share with y’all!!! My dd19 got accepted for the DCP! Heading down in January :jumping1:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

He has no status with DCL. There is no way he's pay plat prices by the time he gets to book. For a 7 day anyway.

2/27 western on the fantasy or 3/1 4 night on the dream. It’s 2 adults, 2 kids, 8 and 3. And we’d book the cheapest room possible lol.

Thanks. I know price can go up, but if it’s totally insane I can just scratch the whole idea.

Fantasy: $6558 11A

Dream: $3755 11B

$6,558 or $3,755 is cheapest for 2A 2C on those itineraries.

I'm not sure about that. I've booked several times as gold with no increase from Platinum. By the time the fares were released to those without status, they still had not increased. If DCL prices right initially, it sometimes takes months to see increases. And they have been very aggressive with opening day pricing of late so it seems like the price increases are not as drastic because they start higher.

I wouldn't because pnc and the co I had before them both said the same thing. I've always sent the coupon, it doesn't even give the option to pay through pnc's site which tells me there's a dif process.

Thanks! I'm trying to decide if I even want to pay the shortage or just let it roll over into the new payment. My mortgage payment will go up $14 if I pay the shortage, and $36 if I don't pay the shortage. I don't guess it really matters since the amount going to principal is the same.

I don't think many other people here have Capital One cards, but just thought I'd share that I just tried to pay an insurance bill with Plastiq with my CO Venture and got a popup saying Plastiq was currently having issues processing Capital One cards. Not sure if this is an ongoing thing or not.

I agree the opening pricing is aggressive (well, really crazy).

There isn't as much excitement on the Winter releases. When the last round came out it was nuts with sell out and price moves. I just don't get it.

$7k for Caribbean... can do that on RCCL for $2k!

I'm new to the credit card game and want to make sure im doing this right. I'm on track to get ~400k Chase UR points through sign up bonuses between my spouse and I. We have the reserve. It looks like my flights (2 adults, 2 kids) will be taken care of with around 100k points or less through the reserve travel site. Looks like my best bet for tickets and hotel is Under cover tourist as they should ring up as travel (please confirm). So for that I would just use my points for statement credit and get 1%. So for 300k points, I get back $3k. I priced out a 5 night and 5 days non hopper tickets at undercover tourist for $2600 for July 2020. Staying at the value resorts. So that give me an extra $400 + a little more from 3x travel on $2600 for photo pass and food.

So can I do better than this? I know that as of last year, you cant book disney through chase travel rewards anymore, so I think this is about as good as it gets. I only travel 1 per year, so I could save the points for 2021 and get more for my points, but I'd rather get a free vacation now in 2020. I'll get some more credit card sign up bonuses for 2021. And we have to travel after school is out and before it starts. So I figure early july after the 4th is best time. I know late august is also good, but Im hoping July has cooler temps as we got killed when we went in late august last time.

Also, any upgrades worth paying for now that most of the trip is free? I don't think the food plan was worth it when we went like 4 years ago. Our kids are young and don't eat much. And I think you have to apply the meal plan for everyone? Also, I'd like to stay on a monorail stop to avoid the bus when going to magic kingdom, but that would blow up the hotel budget correct? We stayed in the value resort last time and it was fine except for the bus rides.

Finally, anything else I should be doing. I am considering the VISA gift card for the discount it gives. I think my inlaws have it and I might just ask them to add my wife as an authorized user. I have to look into it.

Thanks for posting! We got all of those on our BBP cards. Does the staples one work on Visa gcs?
got the staples on my biz green card.... nothing else on any acct I can use.... think this will combine with the fee free gc this week?
Yes, it will work on the VGCs. There's nothing in the terms that exclude those or the other 3rd party GCs so go wild (well, wild-ish.)

I've also split payment between two cards to use two offers on one VGC. No issues with the system doing it. As usual, YMMV on the cashier.

This was me. I just started using a meal planning app and it helps tremendously. I use emeals. It was free for two weeks, but I decided to pay and keep it. It is 4.99/month for 12 months or 9.99/month for 3 months. But you have to pay for the entire subscription at once. The recipes are good (some better than others) and it is saving me a lot on the "food" budget - much less take-out.

ETA: I also used to get the meal kit (Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, etc) once a week (two meals). I just cancelled all that. I pick my recipes for the week (usually 5 meals) from the emeals app and either order the ingredients I need online or go to the grocery store with the list. When I order online it feels like I am getting a meal kit - I just organized it myself.
Thanks, I'll test it out with the trial and see if I like it!

Yep, already went this morning and bought a vgc. Received the notification I used my amex offer.

I love pretzels and this is on my list for a future trip. The newest pretzel I am trying in October is from Pandora with the beer cheese. It is over $10, but I think it will be worth it for the size lol
