Ummm.. it’s not odd to be looking for a cheap getaway the weekend of the 11th since DD has a day off school is it?

Unfortunately all the top tier Universal resorts are sold out otherwise we seriously might have started booking. I’m itching to get away before our spring break trip in March.

I forgot to mention that I jumped on that United cardmembers awards sale to Hawaii that ran a few weeks ago. 32k United miles/person RT SFO<>HNL. Spending two nights at Aulani over Columbus/Indigenous Peoples' Day weekend. We'll be wedged between two phases of construction on the water attractions, which hopefully means they'll be open that weekend; but if not, we'll make the best of it, the beach, and a $50/night resort credit.

As @calypso726 would say, this hobby affords us the opportunity to do crazy, spontaneous stuff like jetting off to someplace else for just a weekend.

The new Amex Delta bonuses are live, and it appears you can refer to them as well.

The Amex Delta Gold personal has a 60k bonus with $2,000 spend with the first year's fee waived and a $50 statement credit. I'm trying to decide whether to refer DH. The only thing holding me back is that it will use up his last 5/24 slot until April. Hmmm . . .

So today appears like a no go for Jan-Mar discounts. They should be coming soon though. These rumors (at least the credible ones) typically come from CMs with intel into marketing, call center staffing or IT. To those of you hoping for a release today, sorry this one was wrong!

Is this for this year? They are all great locations! Be prepared for the food prices. SW flies to all of those locations except USVI. I hear USVI is still recovering for the hurricane. Are you looking for an all-inclusive? Most of those islands do not have all-inclusive resorts.

Oh sorry, I should have said Nov 2020, so a year + a month from now. By then i'll have quite a bank of UR again, SW companion pass, an enough for 5 nights at pretty much any Marriott or Hilton...I'm not exactly looking for free free.....we're spending about $1500 going to Vegas this year BUT more trying to ease him into international travel more.

If you close and apply for a CIC you can get the bonus points for meeting the MSR. If you PC you don’t have that option.

Does anyone pay a BB&T mortgage through Plastiq? I have an escrow shortage this year and need to pay it and was considering using Plastiq. However, the form I got says I have to send a check in with the coupon attached. I'm wondering if I can just put down the info from it and send the check through Plastiq, or if that will cause problems.

By then i'll have quite a bank of UR again, SW companion pass, an enough for 5 nights at pretty much any Marriott or Hilton...I'm not exactly looking for free free.....we're spending about $1500 going to Vegas this year BUT more trying to ease him into international travel more.

So with that, I would cross USVI off the list since SW does not go there. We have plenty of direct flights from BWI to the other islands but you will probably need to connect somewhere to get to the Caribbean from OH. (I admit I did not check the SW site to confirm this.) Aruba is farthest away since it is basically at the tip of S. America so longer flight times. I would be happy with any of the 3 though.

I know I am in the minority but we actually like the DR and have spent many Christmas vacations there along with summer vacations. But we always stay at the same resort since we know what to expect. And we never feel the need to leave the resort.

I’m at 71 for anyone curious. I’m still behind from last year but being in japan for 3 weeks can do that to you

this is hilarious.... how do you keep track of how many books you read in a year? I'm too busy reading to bother....my Dsis writes down each and every title in her journal.... I just end one and start another b/c I can't go to sleep on the ending..so even if it's just one page I have to start the next! I always read at night in bed.....

They scan a QR code on the app. I'm so happy they have this so I don't have to carry another card around!! And it doesn't take up a slot in DH's 3-card wallet that he won't give up.

Oddly, Turks and Grand Cayman I'm not seeing any return flights period....for like months (Mar, Apr, etc). Odd? I mean obviously the plane has to go back?
