Reloaded our toll account, so now I've finally used up my VGCs from the last Safeway $10 off a variable card promo which was back in June :rolleyes1

Now I'm just floating my $500 I picked up yesterday, $200 from yesterday from my Kroger, and the 2x$50s/2x$100s from that last coupon round... Hmm, that's still a lot :rotfl:

Also a $50 MCGC that will go towards the auto loan.

And I applied for a job! And have a list to keep tackling tomorrow. Fingers crossed!
Good luck!!

Hmmm did I tell you all that I was super mean and made DH call in an deal with unlocking his Barclays AA Biz last night? That I locked up, like, a month ago? :rolleyes1

I just hate it because the reason it locked up is I couldn't remember the password, and then of course when they get it unlocked we still don't know the password. So we go to the recover password link and enter the info it asks for, and it says it can't validate our information even though we already know that it's all correct verified by the rep :badpc: So we had to have the rep reset the password. I'm pretty sure this is what I went through the last time I locked it up. Can't wait to kick it to the curb!!!

ETA: And this is a perfect example of this nonsense - so both last night when the rep reset the password so we could get in, and right now while I'm trying to get in mine... it's asking a security question and if I want to make this a trusted computer. Okay, understandable, but it keeps telling us we're wrong. Um sorry it's actually not that hard to figure out the first national election I voted in, or FILs birth year, WE ARE NOT WRONG :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

PC question:

P2 has a CIP that's almost a year old - AF should post in a week or two. Is there any downside to PCing it to a CIC (or maybe a CIU) like P2 not being able to apply for one of those later and get a bonus or anything? Thoughts on whether it's ok to just close this CIP and then apply for a CIC instead?

P2 sees no value in keeping this CIP at this point.

What's the smart move here?

Yep. It’s really nice and a steal at 12,000 points in my opinion. Great pools, good food, rooms are gorgeous and large. We had a great experience. SIL has stayed there as well and also highly recommends.
Are you able to book on points? I have been having a hard time finding point availability on Hyatt lately. If you can now and are thinking about it, I would definitely go ahead and book it and cancel later if you change your mind.
Thanks! It would require transferring URs which is my only hesitation since I can’t get them back once they are with Hyatt.

I need to pull Google maps and see what it is near. I am thinking abut ur getting XMas party tickets as one of DS’s presents.

If you’re able, I would close and apply for the CIC so you can get the points for it. That’s what Dh did but hasn’t been able to apply for his CIC just yet

It’s fine to close the CIP after a year...then apply for the CIC

Skimming through about a week’s worth of reading with one eye on the Saints game, I’ve finally been able to almost catch up. (Which means this will probably take me til halftime to post!)

MSR Sunday -
P1 - halfway through on 3wk old CSR, all organic plus $300 travel credit!
P2 - no MSR but maxed out Q3 on Discover. Waiting closer to end of year for new CIP.

In related news, 2/3 of our accommodations for future Italy trip have been covered w points + CSR credit. Remaining 1/3 wasn’t available on portal, so debating whether to use URs to erase. It pains me to not get the full 1.5x, but free = free.

Happy Sunday! Churning up date-just finishing up my CIP MSR. Not really sure what my next card will be, a few things have changed so the Hawaii trip I was collecting some points for is not going to happen on my original timeline. Just going to work on optimizing my spend for now. If you haven't max'd out q3 categories for Freedom and Discover the next day will be your last chance. I'm planning to do some of my charitable giving with my discover as some of my typical charities use paypal. I was able to redeem a bunch of URs through Hyatt, and this is one of my favorite ways to redeem UR's, and a great redemption value.

Unfortunately, sometimes expenses and projects just keep building up, I spent most of my day repairing a couple windows-6 trips to different hardware stores...thankfully I have the lowes offer on one of my amex's so is helping lessen some of the blow. I have a handyman coming to do some other assorted projects around the house, hopefully this coming week. Trying to trim my list to just a few manageable things to get done before winter. Next year I likely will have to address the original windows on my main floor-most of them are not functional and are the rope and weight type. Ideally I would have them restored vs. replaced but will have to see price wise what is going to be best. The joys of owning a old home!

We had a great view of downtown Disney from our room so it must be somewhat close. It’s near the Vineland outlets as well.

My question is how do you guys have time to read books and keep up with this hobby!?! The last two years I read 50 books a year. This year....11.

It’s funny you mention this. I read 57 books last year and I’m only at 27 this year, mostly all on audio. I did used to always have one on my kindle for before bed or waiting rooms but I find myself checking this thread or reddit instead. I really started back up into churning in April and that’s just about when I slowed down on reading.

I’ve actually been trying to make a more conscience effort to read a bit more. Just so hard when there are points on the table!

MSR Sunday- nothing much to report.

Chase tells me I have ~$400 left on the CIP. Technically I still have an entire month left to meet it so no worries there
Amex- Still waiting for the Hilton Biz to arrive in the mail!! If it would GET HERE I could start giving them my money. Don't they want my money??? It's only $3000 in 3 months so it really won't be a problem. $1700 of that will be knocked out in the next two weeks when I take my son to DL. Paying OOP for hotel, upgrading my PH to an AP... well. Paying OOP for everything, really.

I need to figure out the Serve thing, for reals. Ugh.

To whom may I send a PM to ask some specific questions about Serve/MSing? I've checked all the reddit threads etc but I need some hand holding... TIA!

I would just close it. Chase is not Amex. Unless you want some advantage of product changing and then using that card to support P2 to a CIU. Or an advantage of the phone insurance on CIP. I think the best move is to just close it though. :)

I hate Five Guys offers. The offers look so good —> I remember how expensive Five Guys is —> I think how In N Out is a better deal + better food —> I buy In N Out for lunch or dinner (when 2 mins earlier I had no intention of eating out...)
You think the way I do. Plus, Five Guys lettuce wrapped burgers are messy whereas In-n-out is perfect.
The only downside for me is that I have one that will not eat burgers no matter what. So, with Five Guys it's one stop because he'll have hotdogs. In-n-Out requires a quick run into Chipotle first.
